I wonder if they have anything like the dragon age keep for mass Effect in the near future. Obviously Mass Effect Andromeda is made in a way where it won't acknowledge Shepard's choices (obviously ignoring dying at the end of Mass Effect 2, which never happened to me), but I'm sure this isn't the last Mass Effect. Where will the 5th game take us? Anything in Andromeda where the choices of this game changes the outcome of the next game?

      Good theory.
Maybe there is some sort of technology in Andromeda, that allows super fast travels, similar to the mass relays but also for traveling between galaxies; so a few months (or less) instead of 600 years.
After the war with the Kett and the super enemy of Andromeda that was hinted, the races of Andromeda had peace, evolved and sooner or later discovered or created the galaxy traveling thing. One group of the Andromeda federation (maybe now with Kett being part of them) decides to travel to Andromeda for two reasons:
      1) Looking if they won the war against the Reapers
      2) IF the Milky Way species survived, the Andromeda species would be sharing/trading technologies and maybe creating a way to connect both galaxies for traveling and other reasons
So no matter what ME3 ending is canon, there will be stories about Shepard and the end of the cycle (even if you refuse) and the Andromeda crew would find them when they’re back at the Milky Way.
Hell, if they would return AND the Reapers won the war, the Andromeda species would have almost 50.000 years to evolve even further. Maybe they are even the ones that kicked the Reapers’ ass in the refuse ending.
It would be the ultimate payback; the “erased” Milky Way species, now with 50.000 years’ time to evolve even further, waiting for the Reapers’ return and then one shooting each and every one of them XD

that flash message from the alliance is purely chilling. imagine being one of the ship captains or a military commanding officer and getting handed a datapad by some shaky crewman/soldier and just reading that Sol is, for all intents and purposes, gone. Every person of Earth descent and maybe even your home, is now completely lost to you and everyone else. the even worse part is when you regroup with other alliance forces and fleets only to find out that these reapers blew through 5 entire fleets, wiping out at least one and severely damaging those that escaped, destroyed Arcturus station and killed the entire government then calmly went on with little hesitation and smashed the entirety of Earths primary defense fleet and invaded earth without batting a eye or stopping to wipe away a bead of sweat. The worst part about military communications is for the most part, there purely chilling and unemotional messages that don't sugarcoat it.

Who else would be able to gather so many resource? Who had recent access to the Mars archives where the technology that was the foundation of the core drives for the arks was found and was at the Mars archives themselves when the events of ME3 occurred? I would also like to point out that Liara was aware of the Andromeda Initiative due to being in contact with Alec Ryder and also the Shadow Broker likes to keep their identity hidden.

Everyone keeps saying the mysterious benefactor is the illusive man, but why then would he send other arks filled with other races? And since you clearly leave in 2185-86, then the illusive man would already be under the effects of indoctrination. Why do anything to attempt to save anyone from the reapers when his intent was to "control them"? It just doesnt fit.
No, the mysterious benefactor is probably someone we know; if it wasnt then the reveal would be less powerful. But its probably not someone from the original trilogy unless they are also now in andromeda and we dont know about them. After all the benefactor said "We will need a new home. We'er going to be all thats left of civilization." She/he is obviously onboard an ark or the nexus. If it was the illusive man, why stay behind? why leave all of cerberus behind and send some random variables into the furthest reaches of the unknown? No, its someone else...

It always gets me on the wrong side how this makes the game's flaws more apparent. It renders the motivation for Alec turning his child into a Pathfinder mere nepotism, while reminding that Shepard was a proven hero that had to fight his way up. It reminds us of an epic space opera filled with an estabilished universe and characters overflowing with stories and possibilities. Then expects us to go back to much lower stakes game that hasn't anything unique to it.
Even the atmospheric immersion and presentation are inferior when you start to think of the previous games. The Shadow Broker, per example, was a figured to be reckoned and his appearances even in audio gave him that aura. The hologram talks on the Normandy also blended really well how advanced your ship and setting were and every character looked like someone with story on their backs. Meanwhile, you see the benefactors on a black laptop screen. You are reminded that everyone with proper experience was either left in charge in the Milky Way or died in Andromeda, Alec being the first we saw.
That isn't even getting to the fact that there is no proper reason why people in Andromeda couldn't talk with the Milky Way during the voyage to keep their technology and knowledge up to date. No reasons aside from BioWare being unable to adapt previous games' writting and RGB choices into the game. They took a sledgehammer approach to something they couldn't write in, just be glad you got this pieces of the Milky Way and now say goodbye.
Considering particle entanglament, they needed only one proper connection to talk regardless of distance. If not, they could leave comm buoys like Hansel and Gretel across the voyage. There would be delay, but they wouldn't be in complete dark. And the moment they received tech for FTL comm like in ME3, they could access all the tech developed in the Milky Way during their 40.000 year travel. They would likely need to send some new information as payment but that is rather simple, after all they just arrived at this new unexplored galaxy and still hold first hand knowledge of a bygone era.
Then again, take a galaxy where Shepard united every race, including the Geth, and took control of the Reapers. They could likely use that time to develop their technology into a K3 civilization and send a ship into Andromeda *BEFORE* the Hiperium arrived. Even a devasted galaxy could likely develop tech and population sizes where the Hiperium would be just the first to arrive, shortly followed by faster ships that launched later but took less time, while carrying more people and better techniques.

maybe Bioware wanted the ending that the Reapers are still waging war againts the Milky Way species for 600 years and the Reapers have almost completed the harvest but there are still few Milky Way species left that went hiding and went to stasis. Heck we might even see Shepard and all his crew maybe went to stasis too so who knows but that would be very unlikely. The mysterious benefactor could've made possible contact with the Jaardan and knew that their tech would help rebuild Milky Way civilization. The Jaardan could've been much bigger than we tought they could be the only ones capable of challenging the reapers toe to toe and that they went to hiding because they are preparing for a total war with the reapers in the future. So there we go Reapers vs Jaardan with both opposite idealogies from different galaxies.

I wonder if there is a working hypothesis about Mr.Lawson actually being the Benefactor. Not much is known about him, but he's stupendously rich, apparently involved in all sorts of scientific projects, starting with one his own daughters. He might've been the driving force behind the initial design of the Normandy, obviously staying away from the project officially as he was bound to know about Cerberus and be wary of TIM and SB - because who actually needs a stealth exploration frigate for the cost of dozens of ships its size and capability?
The whole family problems with Miranda and Oriana might have been a decoy to put her into position to get recruited by TIM, seeing how the man is driven, highly capable, but shortsighted, use Cerberus resources instead of his own to rebuild and redesign Normandy SR-2, and Miranda definitely could have stolen the blueprints.
Why would he start the whole Initiative is even more speculative, but not entirely unfounded. With his vast funds and numerous projects, he might've come across some alien information on the Reapers way before Nazara/Souvereign started scouting and preparation (I presume he had dealings with asari, who had one of the beacons intact for thousands of years, and are no strangers to working in shadows), and still not be a suspect for Cerberus or anyone else to investigate, because unlike with TIM who's all about full secrecy, Mr.Lawson might've been of the opinion that the best place to hide is in plain sight.
The Benefactor's voice might've actually been Miranda herself - or probably Oriana, when she got off the Cerberus radar and were of no apparent use or significance to TIM.
And as for the Jean Garson's murder... it might've been done on the orders of Miranda's, who learned methods of secrecy largely at the TIM's heel, not from her father.

receiving the milky way transmissions is kinda lore breaking. The Andromeda galaxy is 2.537 million lightyears away from us. To reach there in 600 years means that the arks would have to be travelling at ~4228x faster than lightspeed. In ME, it has already been explained that FTL communication depends on a network of comm buoys that function like mini mass relays for the transport of information. So how can the transmissions from the milky way reach them so quickly? it's not possible.
Not to mention how the arks can travel at such high FTL speeds for so long without discharging their drive cores? or refueling? or well they'd need a mass effect generator far bigger than anything ever built so far, including the Normandy SR2 which already had one of the largest ever on a ship to date...

The Arks were launched in 2185, one year before the Reaper invasion. They probably just left the milky way and been traveling in dark space for only a year, not impossible for them to still pick up a transmission from back home, which was stored and played back by Alec after arriving at Andromeda, nobody said it was a transmission in real time. Then again, they never did specify the theorical limit of QEC, whether if it can cross galaxies
It's exactly because no ships can refuel conventionally in dark space that the Initiative developed the ODSY drive, which recycles static energy generated (basically it makes it's own power indefinitely) as well as using the ram-scopes to collect hydrogen particles in space to convert as fuel

Mysterious benefactors eh? Assuming you don't already confront them in the base game, I smell a potential dlc. :)

Only thing that confuses me...why does Castis' have different markings than Garrus? I thought they were based on colonies?

Maybe Castis was born on a different colony and moved to the colony where garrus was born.

I mentioned this in another comment, depending on where you look it's either family markings or colony markings. So we know Garrus grew up on Palaven so he could have Palaven's markings while his dad has the markings from the colony he was born on or if its family markings Garrus could have just taken his Mum's family markings instead of his dad's.

I'm still holding out hope that some of our crew made it into a different ark the ones that still haven't arrived. Liara signing off made me cry. I'm currently replaying ME3 and I can only hope that somehow one of liaras project boxes mages it to andromeda or someone that knew Shepard. Like Liara lol
