How could anyone not be subscribed in 2023?!
Came for some badminton advice, got life advice.
Thank you for covering the mental game in badminton. This is a topic that rarely gets mentioned but it's super important!
Thank you so much Dan, we definitely agree!! Hopefully we can cover lots more on this topic in the future 👍🏼
Me off court: I need a positive thinking! I have to concentrate on every point! Let's go!
Me on court: *Loses a point.* Damn, I shouldn't play a drop shot, the opponent was near the net! I'm so bad! *Loses the next two points because of procrastination.*
Haha it happens so much!
I was very angry when I lost games now your video changed my view on losses and I observed my mistakes thanks a lot🙏🙏🙏
Glad to hear that!
This is absolutely brilliant as this topic goes beyond badminton. With the right attitude and dedication, success is possible in every area in life. To quote Earl Nightingale “we become what we think about. Positive thinking yields wonderful results. Negative thinking breeds frustration and unhappiness.”
Michelangelo reminded us “the great danger for most of us is not setting our goals too high and falling short, but setting them too low and achieving them.”
Thank you!
Thank you so much! They are 2 great quotes, we may steal one to use on our Instagram in the next week - thanks haha
Ha my coach always says this. Positive mentality in the game is such a big part of badminton. Whilst you may not be able to play any better during the game, you can def start playing a hell of a lot worse. Make such a difference in rubbers.
100%! Great advice 🔥
Rubbers?
Thank you for this video. I love badminton but also struggle with mental health a lot which is why I get frustrated often. For example, if I didn't sleep well, eat well or just have a day when I feel off, I instantly feel it during a match. Not getting enough sleep, for example, makes such a difference in reaction speed! Could you make more videos about the mental part in badminton? I get soo tense sometimes and have a hard time relaxing, especially if I don't feel my best but I know I could be better if I relaxed. It totally feels like self-sabotage D:
Same
"Create a feel good factor around while training"
This is a great point indeed and never crossed my mind. Will implement this during my training.
Thank you so much Vineel - hope it goes well!
Great video.... Life and sport is 90% mental and 10% physical!!! Thanks guys!!
Thank you so much! :)
Where is Kento Momota 👀 ? Cmon....
Greg did actually want to put that in as a joke instead of Lango's net shots... 😂
inb4 somebody does not get this is a joke
I'm just a passionate club player. As a professional musician who has competed in music competitions, I find that the themes in Gladwell's "Outliers" and Colvin's "Talent is Overrated" were applicable to both music and badminton.
Thank you, left your channel playing while doing my chores, got life advises I never knew I needed.. Will definitely share these to my students..
Glad we could help 😊😋
Love the two points in understanding your impact.
🤗🤗
Never thought that mental health would have this kinda impact in the game. Great video again ! Thank you for the tips ♥️
You're very welcome! Glad it helped :)
It was a helpful video for me. Thank you😇😇
You're most welcome, glad it helped 😊
Thank you so much, this video is something I believe strongly about, and is applicable in everything we do. Keep up the awesome work Jenny & Greg
Thank you so much :)
Knowing full well I'll sound like mood-hoover now, but having a broader look at the literature, gives a less confident image of self-help books like this one. Don't get me wrong, I absolutely love the two of you, and this positive thinking just sounds a little marketingy, on not so sciency.
This is great seeing my favorite badminton channel covering this aspect which is true and valid in every aspect of life :)
Even valid in my software profssional life, apply it to deal better with people at work thanks!
Wow, thank you!
Great tips all around. Pressure comes from internal and external sources. It's how we face, accept, process, and deal with them that's important.
Absolutely!
Thank you for this video.. now for 2 weeks I have improved my mental game, which was being too hard on myself if I missed a shot.. which ultimately lowered my morale and my partner as well.
That's great to hear, thanks for the comment :)
This is one of the major thing I was looking for...thank you so much for such a great video
I would like you to make a video on preparations , mindsets before a major match.....
You're welcome and thanks for the suggestion!
I had read a book named "power of positive thinking" and the points which you told are much similar to it.thanks for this video😀
Glad it was helpful! :)
Loved the comments on the feel good factor - yourself and others - so true in every walk of life! Thanks for the video
You are very welcome! Glad you enjoyed it Pradeep, very true indeed!
Thank you for the video! I find that there are times that I'm mentally not "in" the game and get bogged down by the negative mentality even when I know I should do better and seeing your thoughts on this is great. Would love to see a video on what you two do for conditioning as well! Do you two do HIIT, jogging, etc.?
You're very welcome! We have done some videos on this earlier on in the channel. We do bike's and runs and then HIIT style workouts when we're not on court so much! Thanks for the comment :)
I started playing badminton from January 2021 and had to change from left hand to right hand completely because of my surgery.... 1 thing is learned is that sometimes you need to shut off your environment and clear your mind and just focus on the game.... This let's me win many matches even though I have not a good stamina
Great to hear you're still managing to play despite surgery! Best of luck 🏸👍🏼
It's hard to play with right hand as I'm lefty but still manageable to play and lose by 3 4 points in the set
watching this for school report! the waty you present the information makes it very easy thanks you!
You're very welcome, glad you enjoyed it!
Absolutely love this video so crucial in anyone's lives not just Badminton. Love the end bits too! Shows it's not easy to do🤣 doing a great job both keep it up👍
Thank you so much Amy!! The last year or so has definitely tested that positivity! Hopefully see you soon 😃
Best part is them acting out to better explain their points😂😂. Loved the video❤️
Haha thank you! Glad you enjoyed it 😃
"I'm not an optimist, because an optimist thinks everything will be fine, and he won't do anything to change it. I'm not a pessimist, because a pessimist thinks nothing will change for the better, and he does nothing to change it."
Great quote!!
Play to your strengths. I was thinking about it recently, I am not so good at smashes so I thought nevermind I will use different strategies. What I already have and bring best out of that
Exactly right! Good luck 👍🏼
Positive thinking is most important in badminton it is very nice video please like and share this video to all badminton friends😁😁😁😁😁
Ah thank you so much :)
A really excellent video. I'd say one of the best you have done so far as it's not just confined to the court, but impacts your whole life and all those around you. Well done! 👍👍👍
ps, That line call strop was brilliant Jenny, laughing away here.
Thank you so much Dave, glad you enjoyed it! We were a bit worried as we didn't know how it would go down!
Haha we were both laughing many times ourselves when editing!! You can even see Greg laughing in the clip
I have a habit of getting demotivated after losing a point and making the exact same mistake
This video helped me a loooootttttttt
Glad it helped, hopefully you win more points in the future as a result!
Thank you for the content! Truly needed this from the mental aspect of the game! Keep it coming!
Thank you so much 😊
Yessir, needed this
Love it
Glad you enjoyed it! 😄
Great video and I agree with what is said here 100%. Especially when playing doubles your attitude can have a huge impact on your partner for the good or the bad !!
Absolutely! Thanks Dan :)
May be an old video, but I definitely enjoyed it, quite some learnings from this videos and the outtakes were gold 😁
Haha thank you 😆
Nice i liked it thinking positive is nice
I'm a beginner, and this is helpful (of course, with the techniques videos). Kudos to you both!
Can You make a video on what to focus on playing badminton ? Shuttle? Opponents racket? My shot? Or the crowd?
Thank you so much this has really helped not just for badminton and beyond.
Glad it helped! :)
Amazing Video, always happy to get more of this style form you
Glad you enjoyed it and thanks for the comment :)
Always something new to learn from you guys keep them coming. thank you
Thank you so much 😊
This great - so much more than just badminton advice!!
Thank you so much 😊
LOL I had good laughs at the role playing & bloopers awesome job 🤣 Badminton + Life Insight? I'm all for it 🤣 thank you for another quality video! This kind of reminds me of a recent match I watched of Okuhara vs. Intanon in the All England SF, in the 3rd game Intanton was up 13-19 i think but Okuhara didn't give in at all, in fact she climbed back up to take the lead 21-19 to get a spot in the finals that was such a strong show of mental strength!
Haha thank you so much 😂😄 Yeah, you definitely need good mental strength to win those kind of battles!!
Great viedo from this channel loving the content
As they bring out the video that helps there viewers in every way possible
Keep the good work up 🤘🤘🔥🔥🔥♥️

She’s gotta do it again. It was an NG. Greg laughed.
@@KeithHiew Got to do what again? What's NG? haha

We all are but it's something we can try to avoid :)

What an actress performance, Jenny ! You made my day ! If youtube don't work out, you could always retrain yourself in acting career ;-).
😂😂😂 I'm not sure that's a viable career for me...
Wow Amazing One of the best videos so far well done 👍
Hi ,,I'm from INDIA kolkata,,,you all best teacher....☺️☺️☺️
Thanks Joydeep!
on friday night, I played very very well.. but today on Sunday morning, I played really badly, in consistent, no motivation.. I suppose I need to be more positive when feeling down, do a more easy shot, when the confident come back, play more variety shot..
Fantastic topic to uncover, most badminton channels only focuses on the physical & skills aspect, often neglecting the impactful psychological aspect.
Awesome Oscar level acting btw 🤣🤣
Yes it's such an important part of the game! Thank you very much 🤣 haha
I am enjoying in your videos
And i love to the way of teach and edits
All the videos are very helpful for me
Keep rocking 🎸🎶🎶

Thank you my friend👍✅
You're very welcome 👍
You're most inspiring me guys... Thanks for sharing..
Thank you so much Jose! 😊
Thank you for this video i really need this right now
You're so welcome! Glad we could help!
Very important video and concepts guys :) definitely an under discussed topic. I like the last tip around setting huge goals, even if you don't achieve them, evaluate why and work on it for the next time! I'm definitely a 2%er 😁😁
It definitely is you're right! Life's about learning! And yes we would definitely put you in the 2%er category Max haha keep it up and bringing people up with you!
@@BadmintonInsight 100% yesss let's do this together 🙌🙌
I needed this video thank u ❤️❤️
You're so welcome!
Well, it works for you…. you make great videos
Thanks Roger 😃
These tips will help me so much!!
We're glad :)
I feel positive now 😊
Great!!
This is mental !
Haha!! Hope you enjoyed it :)
i love the acting!
Haha, thank you 😄
I want to suggest that you make a video talking about unforced erros in badminton. because I want to know if they are the same definitions as tennis. And what are the characteristics? Because this is very rare to be described or talked about in badminton
Thanks for the suggestion! It is very similar to tennis yes and we often look at these in our match analysis :) But you're very right the stats are not talked about a lot in commentary!
👍🏻👍🏻😊😊thanks for this video
You're very welcome, our pleasure 😊
Awesome video thanks 👍
Glad you enjoyed it!
A long awaited video : )
Hope you enjoyed it! :)
Isn't that a 150 quid rocket being thrown around?? :) Great video :) Thanks :)

Play to your strengths: is this like for me use my High serve/the lethal serve and switch between them if one doesn’t work out?
Help please 🙏
Quality Video 👍
Thanks Dalton 👍
Nice video! In which category are you at ;)? Do you ever meditate? Good luck for your matches 🍀
We're trying to always be in the 2%er category! Haha Greg meditates every day yes :)
4:02 Her acting skills are mad😂😂😂
