- Beating World Records in Minecraft - Today we take on a bunch of world records in Minecraft. We attempt to beat real world records using Minecraft features and functions. I make use of redstone, enchanting and potions to allow me to break world records!
We break the 100m world record, shot put world record, javelin world record, long jump world record. We are now professional minecraft players.

As someone who likes javelin, I feel it is my job to point out that you can't step over the line, so wait until it rains, then riptide back behind the line for the record.

As someone who likes honesty, I feel it is my job to point out that a good chunk of Olympians are on PEDs. Hell, most countries that don't do extensive olympic trials to select athletes literally have protocols for when their athletes should start cycling off of each compound so they can get the most training benefit while still testing negative. And it isn't just weightlifters. Not all steroids are for strength or size. Many increase muscle endurance and decrease recovery time.
But just as a famous example of how prevalent it is, it was either the 1992 or 1996 where a weightlifter who finished 9th ended up being awarded gold years later because all 8 of the people who placed ahead of him ended up having their samples test positive for "frankenstein cycles" that couldn't be tested for until the methods improved. Frankenstein cycles were basically where athletes loaded up with a ton of complimentary compounds like anavar, clenbutetol, dianabol, winstrol, etc... in lower doses to where they couldn't be detected individually, and there were no available biomarkers (at the time) indicating use - but they still got one hell of a benefit.

Yea, 45 degrees will always get you the farthest.
45° is best if thrown from the floor, it was calculated that in Minecraft it is best to throw at about 41.5° as the projectile is not launched from the ground.

me: here are the strongest steroids i found, sir: speed 255, leaping 255, riptide 37265
Leaping 255 glues you to the floor. It breaks at 128 if they did not fix it.
For the javelin, the results were:
30 degrees: ~84 blocks
25 degrees: ~77 blocks
40 degrees: ~87 blocks

A bit of cheeky physics, projectiles always go the furthest when thrown at 45⁰
If you're interested, it's because the range is proportional to sin2x where x is the angle, hence it's value becomes maximum at 45⁰
Only applies to an object being thrown across a flat horizontal plane.
The Minecraft character holds (and throws) the object from his hand, so the object has already been vertically displaced and the optimum angle ≠ 45.
This is because the height where the object lands is ≈ 1m below where the object was thrown.
The optimum angle is actually < 45, likely around 41, 42.

But due to some distance between hand and head, the angle is slightly lesser than 45° in the game since the angle is calculated from eye level instead of hand level

Picture a ball going up at 45° and then falling down, tracing a line behind it, now imagine another one being thrown at 40° with the same strength, it will go slightly further, trust me, I'm an athlete.

Fun Fact: The Javelin world record was once an extordinary distance of 104.80 meters which was thrown by Uwe Hohn from east germany. The Javelin landed only a few short meters from a handful of athletes which were competing in another event. The centre of mass was then moved 4cm forward to make throws fly around 10% shorter due to actual safety concerns that people would get speared. Hope you found this helpful.
