"Let's use gravestones to pave the street up to the bank. What could go wrong?" - A man who will definitely be killed by ghosts.
Like, I don't believe in ghosts, and I still would never do that. You know?
Probably the same guy who thought it'd be a good idea to use gravestones in the foundation of Betsy Ross Bridge in Philly
the church was demolished in 1782 to make way for an extension of the bank, good Lord how symbolic
Too right. Get rid of that religious mumbo jumbo to make way for something more practical.
😂😂😂😂😂
Ivor Biggun it has historical and religious significance
@misuzu9254 Exactly?
@@chadwarden1179 Since when do you need a church to have faith? And telling a non-religious person that something is a sin means nothing to them. You might as well tell us that Santa won't bring us presents next Christmas.
In Northern Ireland, Ballycastle there's a place called Bonamargy which is a graveyard and a (I think) a monastery. In that monastery the was a nun called Julia McQuillan and she could supposedly predict the future and a lot of her predictions we know did come true. One day she slipped on the seventh step and died. People call her the black nun and people do not step on the seventh step for fear of summoning her spirit. Thought this might be interesting to some people.
ILOVE PANCAKES It is, thank you for the info.
Curious World you're welcome
That is so interesting. Thanks for that ILOVE PANCAKES
Victoria Bellanova hehe you're welcome
ILOVE PANCAKES Thanks ILOVE PANCAKES! I did find that information intriguing, and bet you could reveal more details too!
I enjoy stories from Ireland, and dream of someday visiting such a awesome place!😊❤
I really like your voice. ..much better than robotic voices on other sites, 💜
Rosalee Rich YES!!🙌😌👍
Those videos with robotic voices should be banned.
Rosalee Rich check out a channel called bedtime stories. I found this channel as a suggestion from them. Love rotating between thee two for great content.
TY!! Those robotic ones and with people who talk retarded are so obnoxious lol! I love his voice too btw.
Agreed. I can't listen to those robot voices.
Why isn’t this a big channel yet? It’s more interesting than most things on here
Pretty lady :)
Stefonie F. You like this please check out bedtime stories this is a great channel similar tone as this great channel.
@@jameslyddall i totally agree love that channel
Most people like unicorns and rainbows; this is not that kind of channel. :)
Years ago I worked as a night security guard in Brown Shipley's a merchant bank opposite the Bank of England. The vaults of the bank were surrounded by a Black Death graveyard. Four times a night for a year I had to do my rounds, knowing that I was alone in the building, surrounded by dead bodies.
Never saw or heard a thing.
Money is a good deterrent against the supernatural, my grandmother always said.
Or did you?
That bank is screwed up they messed with her life in real life by taking her brothers life and her sanity and after death by digging up her grave who could blame the poor girl
Gwendolyn Rainbolt I’m not sure if the bank had the the say in prosecuting the brother. They ratted him out, for sure, as well as surely knowing the consequences but the law of the time was swift and quite harsh. Considering she, herself, likely landed far more than her brother was guilty of thieving, it is a tragic reality on many levels.
Gwendolyn Rainbolt í
Gwendolyn Rainbolt very true I hope she haunts them forever.. I love watching things that take place in the UK I love London I'm trying to talk my boyfriend into a vacation to Europe. I dream of a proposal at the Eiffel Tower
Looks like she'll haunt them for eternity. They deserve it.
the only thing what they did wrong is not telling her immediately that her brother died. for the rest i personally don't think they did anything wrong.
I think the "friend" that suggested the forgery played him.
Literally found you by accident. I love the stories and history. Immediately subscribed. Think Im going to be watching alot of these today 😍
Thank you, Lauren.
Seriously I love your stuff, please please keep them coming. Your amazing. Thank you for your videos.
Thanks again. I'll be uploading my next video in a couple of days.
I also just happened upon this and subscribed.
Yes, I've been binge watching these...
Fantastic stuff, thank you so much. Just to be a real pedant but Sarah Whitehead died circa 1836 not 1936. I point this out only because you really do your research. Top channel, chap.
Of course she did. Damn it. Thanks for drawing my attention to this.
I was wondering about that as well when I heard it.
Pip818 wow so u really know. A lot about this cuz I 💘 thinhs like this
That's very important as 1836 is just 1 year before civil registration of BMD. I take it people have looked for Sarah on Ancestry or FindMyPast.
The picture you used for living the high life is late 1800’s, (probably 1880s ) not the 1820s or 1830s they would have been living in.
I've just subbed being a Londoner I know a few of these true stories well done they are nice to hear.
After watching the Ghosts on the Underground documentary, I always wondered how much of this story was true, and I wanted to know more. Thank you so much for producing - your channel is fantastic!!
So happy I found your channel. I put my earbuds in at night and let you tell me a bedtime story with your fabulous narration. ♥️
This video could get more likes, huh?
I'm super spooked. Thank you for sharing. I'm looking forward to your channel.
I started watching as I am hooked on forensic and crime documentaries... this story was a breath of fresh air. I really appreciate your videos. 👍🏻
Worked in law enforcement, enjoy these stories. Being hung for fraudulent check is extremely harsh, would never be carried out these days.
Excellent story and beautiful voice!
Thank you!☺☕

What kind of crazy trouble were they having with forgery to warrant giving the death penalty?
Holy crap death penalty for check forgery ouch. Love your voice it's so soothing great narration
Raven Vargas yes, and now a days the let murderers out after just years....amazing how times change.
Fantastic video. I'd always wondered why they call the Bank of England the Old Woman of Threadneedle Street.

Funny that ghosts tend to “feed” off the emotionally distressed, when being emotionally distressed is a common trigger of hallucinations in the sane...

Quite interesting. Thank you.
Just found your channel & subbed!
Fabulous content,thank you!
I can't imagine a bank would tolerate her loitering much less pay her money or provide a room for her out of pity. Sounds pretty fictional.
Different times. People in those days were more compassionate.
@christinareeves They probably only gave her a couple bucks a day feeling sorry that it was their bank that pretty much caused his execution and wanted to look god in front of whatever type of media they had back then. But who knows. That’s the only reason I can think of
Far stranger things have happened, mate;
People in previous time periods didn't think the way we do today. In some ways they were more compassionate, but in other respects some of their attitudes and beliefs we would find odd or even scary today - like having someone hanged for forging a cheque.
I learned a lot from this video. I've heard of the Black Nun but only knew the basics of the story! Very well researched
brandybuck1984 There's a lot of conflicting stories. I might not even be right, but I gave it my best shot.
I found this by accident..love this channel..i subscribed a bit back ans have watched a good number of stories now and not one disappointed !! :)

Thank you, Rachel.
Excellent story telling..I love your videos!! We don't have amazing stories like this in the States...
Oh, but you do!
Your videos are awesome! Keep up the good work! :-)
Good video. I firmly believe that when we disturb these old cemeteries, we do indeed draw the attention of a collective spirit. Not everyone who passes goes to either heaven or hell. Something unfinished in their life compels them to remain on this plain of existence. It's not surprising that we encounter them.
First time viewer. Awesome vid mate. Subscribed.
Thank you, Mark.
Just found this channel, subscribed! Love your voice 😃
I was reading this story in a magazine in the morning . I unexpectedly bumped into this in the evening .
OOOkay, that last picture of the woman spooked the hell out of me. Wow.
Just subbed. ✌ 👻 keep up the great paranormal video's. 👻
i do watch plenty of such videos but yours is one of the first i've stumbled across that puts immense effort in the research. top job lad. i'm hooked and this is only the first video i've watched.
nargothrond1989 Thanks, mate. Narration was a little slow on this one. Check out my Ladies of the Lakes video if you like detail.
Curious World wow I’m watching it right now! (About Carol Ann Park) Even before you said it heh. 👍🏻 You sure got a knack for the content. And idm the narration - setting the right mood for the 1AMs.
nargothrond1989 Part 2 of that series coming in a week.
Curious World Looking forward to it. Cheers mate!
(And a little side note, but the fact that you looked up a case - that really piqued my interest. So count me subbed.)
The narrator's voice is so clear...thank you
Thankyou very interesting and clear narration.
Gonna be my favourite youtube channel now
