The English author Charles Dickens requested to be buried in the grounds of Rochester Castle in Kent England UK . He set many of his stories in the area . After his death he was instead buried elsewhere . He had wanted a small informal ceremony , ended up with a huge state funeral and was interred in a fancy London Cathedral 😶 He is said to haunt Rochester to this day . I live about 20 minutes walk away from Rochester .

Well she took my last name and had her will saying what she wanted all paperwork sorter. Well her parents hated my guts cause I was broke they were rich. Well she died in a car wreck they fought and won. To make matters worse they payed off my loves lawyer to change it and now to late to do anything

@@LoveShaysloco Actually in the case of Charles Dickens it was more down to him being kind of publicy revered . The British comedian Frankie Howard never received the headstone he wanted . His sister blanked it . Frankie was gay and his sister refused any mention of a headstone that mentioned his long time male partner 😶 Don't know if he has a headstone to this day .

Having lived one town up from Pownal I an mot at all surprised to hear that story. That area in general is fairly full of hauntings, and with how scattered and decentralized the sprawl of that town is, there's ample room for all sorts of leftovers. There's just simply not enough living energy to nudge the dead out to the next world.

@Jody Owen New England as well as much of the East coast is very historied and in fact we in the more rural parts of New England try to maintain our sense of History by preserving older structures and building more houses in their architectural likeness. there are parts of Boston which still retain their Historical look like the North End. New England has an exceptionally unique culture and from what I have heard is quite similar to Europe in terms of atmosphere. I live in New Hampshire so I can certainly attest to Portsmouth being VERY European. You should definitely come and see this region, its truly beautiful, especially in fall qnd if you do come here in the Fall I would recommend the Cider Donuts, theyre really delicious XD

I grew up in Bridgeport Connecticut. Myself, my father and middle brother used to see the ghosts of children in the first home we lived in. One time for fun, I looked up the history of my area at the library. In the early 90’s there was no internet really to look it up, so we had to look at old newspapers. I saw that my home was once a school house. My father said that the teacher was the woman that he often saw in the kitchen and bathroom

There are lots of stories in New England. Rt. 44 in Massachusetts is very haunted, as is the old Cemetery off of Rt 44.

The Bridgewater Triangle! Lots of creepiness going on. Especially Rehoboth which is where the cemetery is that I think you are referring to of rt 44
