Being in a band myself, the way he is acting has nothing to do with if people are watching. Art is created through feeling. If he stands there like a statue and sings his song, and plays his guitar, then he would be Blink 182. He isnt "acting". The way he moves, looks, sounds, it is all part of the song. Without it? Commercial garbage.
Never in my life have I gone into a RadioShack with a group and thought, “dudes, we need to play here”. I’m pretty sure this is why I’ll never be as good as nirvana.

This seems like a music video, bet back then everything sucked and was expensive.

Why? It's the album version of the song put over this video , it's stupid
Cobain was a pretty good guitarist heavy ass riffs he wrote that went with the song . Dude was a genius he was before his time .so much passion . Respect
Who cares if someone is all fancy smancy technically good at the guitar. Even if you are great at it 'technically'..... if the sounds doesn't come out and hit you in the soul, it means SHIT ALL. It doesn't take much to pull a few strings that strikes the soul, but it takes a hell of a lot to come up with the sounds that do. Take Van Halen, people praise him but his music sucks donkey ballz.
The vision was to mix the Beatles and Black Sabath
All my heroes are villains wow you're special
Brian Last , good is being able to play smoke under the water with one string? Heavy??? It's a chill rock ground and pound...but he was no headbanger. And Courtney stole all his shit. Killed him over lalapalooza...he turned down playing and her band was a combo deal. So, no go for her. She lost a million or so on that alone.....haha. I play better than him.
Nothing compares to Nirvana, even now. If there were other artists copying the Nirvana style at the time, they failed. Soundgarden and the whole "grunge" scene capitalized on the Seattle scene, but none of those bands sounded like Nirvana.
Those were the best years. People were still connected to the present, without the obsession to tell others how happy they are. Today Nirvana would remain in their home garage.
If nirvana were young today they would still accomplish the same thing. If nevermind dropped now it would have the same impact it would destroy popular music as we know it. Nevermind d isn't my favorite but it would destroy everything coming out now. Nirvana is timeless and extremely bold playing many different styles of rock music. It won't age. Even till this day entertainers from all different genres are trying to be like kurt and steal his image. That's why you got rappers wearing old grandma sweaters with women's sunglasses.
@@johncollins211 i love raps embrace of kurt cobain. its awesome

If Kurdt were alive he’d most likely be an acoustic singer/songwriter. People grow and evolve. Dave would be where he is now, and so would Krist in his new bands (e.g., 3rd Secret). Granted I loved them as a teenager and saw them live, but today’s fans lack the experience and can only live it via social media.

Even if it is the studio version. kudos to the person who edited this together to make the earliest "music video" and muti=angle video of Nirvana! It's great! Should be on a long overdue documentary including all this early footage,
This wasn't edited. It was Nirvana making a cheap music video.
That doesn't really look like Cobain
George Velatides January 24, 1988; Kurt, Krist, and Dale went together over to RadioShack to record a couple music videos for Paper Cuts and other Nirvana songs
tyronerodgers So young! Agreed. Editing SVHS back in the day was no easy feat either.... Not like today’s “cut and paste” timelines.
Should 've became an official video
Amazing. Totally. On a side note it was also remarkable to see Cobain with clean hair.
Nirvana performing live at Radio Shack has to be the randomest thing ever
Even though the song is so different from teen spirit, this video is that video's precursor,: the smoke machine, Kurt's hair and demeanor, the slow motion, the cinematic focus on the drums, and the overall aesthetic. As amateurish as this video is, it is a testament to how solid their vision was, even at this early stage.
Also
Paper Cuts is a SICK song, fucking haunting.
