Poilievre, Conservatives move ahead of Trudeau, Liberals in latest Ipsos poll

  • The gridlock between Liberal and Conservative supporters appears to have broken, new polling suggests, with the Tories edging slightly ahead.
    In an Ipsos poll conducted exclusively for Global News and released Tuesday, 37 per cent of Canadians said they would vote for Pierre Poilievre’s Conservative Party, signalling a four-point jump since February.
    If a federal election were to take place tomorrow, the Liberals would fall behind with 32 per cent of votes, which is one point lower than they got four months ago, when Ipsos last conducted their poll.
    Since 2019, the Liberals and the Conservatives have been “locked in a logjam,” but this is the first time that Ipsos polling has shown either side being able to really break out, said Darrell Bricker, global CEO of Ipsos public affairs. He said the poll was reflecting “fatigue” with the Liberal government more so than growing support for the Conservatives.

Then go back, do your research on parties over the last 30 years, just the last and that will show you the destruction the Conservatives have done to Canada. Before Trudope almost 75% of our national debt was from Mulooney and Harpo, who just happen to be the last two PM's of the Conservative party. You do know Harpo sold Canada out to China with a deal "No One" wanted yet everyone yaps about Trudope and the election interference lol. To high income earners politics is at most a diversion. FOr people who its NOT a diversion, there is no question that the liberals are far better. But that has nothing to do with voting preferences that go ALL over the place, Men are certainly more likely to vote conservative, thats pretty obvious from the way the two parties are campaigning. To high income earners there is very little difference WHO gets elected, just like ifyou are in CHina or the Congo or even under some dictator, if you have money, then the political establishment really means little.
      Even in tax rates its VERY unlikely that a conservative government is going to save much money, even conservative provinces with surpluses haven't lowered taxes AT ALL. So money wise apart from the cents off carbon taxes there is little that will change.

    • @northernperspective00
      @northernperspective00 Před rokem +1

      @@osmosis321 It's a fair question for sure. He has to do a few things:
      One, he has to have a balanced budget. When the government runs a deficit, they borrow from the bank of Canada, who just prints the money they need, injecting it into the system which devalues the currency further, contributing to inflation. He then has to start paying down the current deficit because right now we are paying something like $30 billion in interest a year on our $1.2 trillion debt.
      That will allow the interest rates to calm down.
      Next he has to eliminate the carbon taxes with the provisions that the oil companies and big commerce giants like Walmart and Loblaws cut their prices accordingly. That needs to be legislated.
      Next he needs to enact infrastructure funding quotas tied to housing construction across the country to incentivize rapid housing development to try to meet the current demand.
      He can also look at implementing government subsidized housing for low income families where the government foots the bill for construction and sells the homes at cost to families which would be limited by income per their latest tax return. So if you only made $40k last year, you could qualify. To keep people from just flipping that at a high price and contributing to the problem, they could mandate that families would have to keep the house for 5 years to stabilize the market.
      He then should implement his $1 saved per $1 spent law which would mandate his and future governments to be fiscally responsible except on cases of nation emergencies.
      He has spoken about most of those items throughout his appearances and they do sound like good ideas. The government housing one is something I thought of and I hope they consider.
      So he does have plans to get us out. Trudeau just spends more money which is VERY concerning.

HE is the one that invited them in to buy up entire industries AND bring in their own workers AND police their own workers. That wasn't Trudeau, that was Harper and his conservatives, a main one being Pollievre, whose sole accomplishment as Minister of Democracy was to make it harder to vote.
