I have actual nostalgia for this. Because when I got my first PS1 as an X-mas gift in 1997, The first 3 games I got for it were The "Greatest Hits" version of Tekken 1, Hasbro's Frogger, and MK: Mythologies: Sub-Zero. As somebody who's actually played this game after Ultimate MK3 for Super Nintendo, the combo mechanics felt 2nd nature to me to a certain degree. Shockingly, MK9 and even MKX made small callbacks/shout-outs to this game whenever they mention Bi-Han's past and the significant role he played in stopping Shinnok.
Reading the manual and looking up the controls should be the FIRST thing anyone does before playing any game. There's no one else to blame when people don't do something so simple and obvious. I adjusted the controls to match the layout of the Genesis Mortal Kombat games and Mortal Kombat Trilogy, and he played like the unmasked Sub-Zero from Mortal Kombat 3 (but the command for the Spine Rip Fatality, which was Forward-Down-Forward-Forward-High Punch if I recall correctly, isn't used in the Genesis games or Trilogy). Finally, you have to unlock Sub-Zero's special attacks by gaining experience, and (if you pay attention) you'll see an icon for that special attack appear near the top center of the screen when you unlock it.
i did it specifically for a timelapse purpose because i wanted to go in fresh and throw in little nice edits but i get where you're coming from. but thank you for the tips for when i come back to the game in the future!!
This game was a head of it's time and limited by technology of that era Imagine if there's a souls like MK mythologies made with modern graphic and proper voice acting
I had this for my 64 too. Took me a while but I ended up mastering it and found out all the tricks and weaknesses of every boss. And how to beat every stage with ease. Found some glitches too that I always performed.
I honestly really like this game. Poor game mechanics shouldn't warrant it a bad game imo. As a child I was never able to get past the 2nd level without cheats but now with google I know how to beat FuJin lol. I still appreciate it what the game was though. You can learn how it works just playing and work around most of its trivial issues. The main star of the show is the story itself. It expands so much on the lore of the MK universe and is an integral part of the story. Introducing Quan Chi and Shinnok and his amulet. Foreshadowing the events of MK4 and beyond. Also very cool its the only game that has live action cut scenes. Like Whuuuut! Good luck if you continue the game. Shinnok is like near impossible lol.
it would take a lot for me to revisit this game. i get it holds a special place in a lot of people heart but for me i just lost sanity by the minute playing it😭
I played both games its not that bad....mk style adventure is unique...you're juz baby to play that game...the music the ambience and the story are amazing compared to other games like metroid crap even special force have no bad its better thaan shitty resident evil 1 from ps1 ...idk why people hate those games play that games once you'll understand 🤔 Edit : Obviously the worst mortal kombat games is 3d era of that trilogy..the kombat sucks the music is mediocre and ugly character design and worst fatalities finishers...no want to play thos games again

I’m always excited when I see anything about this “game” 🤣 it’s one of the only games I can think of that even way back when it came out in the 90s when I was a little kid I got it for the N64 played it for about 10 minutes and was done forever 😐🤦♂️ I just kept saying to myself how can you sell a broken game how can you sell a broken game ? 😂 just slap the name Mortal Kombat on it that’s how lmao because I sure fell for it lol but also to be fair back then it wasn’t like I could really look up a video on CZcams to see what it was really like before actually playing it 😅☯️
It’s almost unplayable because it’s a bad combination of broken controls with extremely hard difficulty level design and enemies lol 😂 I hate to be suggesting some thing crazy but if you beat this entire game however long it takes people will definitely enjoy the video I know I’ll give it a like I’ve already subscribed anyway lol 💯☯️

i like the lore and callbacks to the game, but playing it just feels so muddy and like im in slodge
