Arrowhead hunt Awesome day May 17th 2014

- three tobacco field's Artifact/Arrowhead Hunt on May 17th 2014 able to hunt three fields today after days of rain i was on the field's today early for a full day and was able to find some very awesome finds the day started out slow but boy did it pickup

What a BEAUTIFUL CELT!!!! WOW! Looks to be perfect. I personally have never found a celt (still hoping someday) but have several in our collection from my husband's father and grandfather.

thanks rockhead for all the nice Celt comments was that 5 or 6 i lost count lol and yes it is a sweet one use to live in Florida and traveled on I-75 many times won't ever move back to FL i guess the piece of flint might be a forgotten Florida Souvenir from long ago lol i will look up Leavalois ( sp?) thanks for viewing and your comment and the information and your friendship

i know i kept showing it off lol but i thought i was dreaming until i had my hand on it and then i wouldn't put it down all day except for a couple of times to get photos of it and after i got picked up i held it all the way home i guess i have the artifact fever real bad well if there is a cure i don't want it thanks again

Awesome celt !! . Nice blade knife .Cool red killer . The drill is probably the base of a point . sweet flake knife . I think some of the larger chunks of mater ial may possibly be cores that Flakes were taken off of to make points and so on. thanks for the hunt and clean up . Good luck out there .---Butch

Have you ever tried shallow rivers? I think you will have more success. Just think, many times Indians would hunt along rivers and kill deer as they came to get a drink along the river. If they missed, the arrow wound up lost in the river. I've seen people find lots of arrowheads in rivers. Something to sift sand through would help in finding the larger arrowheads, like a 2'x2' screen with 1/2" hardware cloth.

Couldn't wait and Googled celt. It's amazing you found one in the middle of a tobacco field in perfect condition considering that field was plowed hundreds of times over the years.
