    • @camelCased
      @camelCased Před 3 lety

      I vote for that.
      Also, I wish Roland or AKAI had some budget models with synth engine shifted to software (Patchman sounds loaded into some VST or Kontakt-like host) and with the EWI serving as the best-in-class MIDI controller with a breath/bite controller port that can accept any future innovated mouthpieces.
      It seems the best I can get for a reasonable price is Akai EWI USB or Roland Go.
      Roland Mini is not good. The bite sensor is very important even for a beginner!
      I'm a total beginner with my Clarineo; still, vibrato was almost the very first thing I learned. It's so much fun to hear how the sound reacts to the shape of my mouth. Also, the transpose feature is a must for a beginner, when I want to cheat and avoid playing those tricky halftones. That's one of the reasons I fancy an EWI - to be able to play along most of the songs, even those that have lots of halftones. Just transpose your instrument and bam! most of # turn into whole tones.
      I even started looking at do-it-yourself EWI projects to see if I can make something simple with Arduino MIDI programming and using two silicone tubes - one for breath and another one for bite - that might be an interesting experiment. I have electronic and programming skills to do that, but I don't have enough free time.

    Hi Alistair, first will say thank you for your very very helpful Video in my case the EWI…. I am very interested and want to know how to use the ae30 with Cubase11.
    Does the USBc sent audio and midi to my DAW so that i can also use my external Soundcard for my speakers?
    When this works, is it possible to save the presets from the AE30 in my Cubase Project, so when i open the Project with connected AE30 the sound loaded that played?
    best regards from Germany

    I wish Roland or AKAI had some budget models with synth engine shifted to software (Patchman sounds loaded into some VST or Kontakt-like host) and with the EWI serving as the best-in-class MIDI controller.
    Roland Mini is a bit disappointing for the price. The bite sensor is very important even for a beginner! I'm a total beginner with my Clarineo; still, vibrato was almost the very first thing I tried just to make me sound more alive. It is so much fun to hear how the sound reacts to the shape of my mouth.

      You play through octaves using the two up and two down octave keys. There are settings to adjust how they work, but you can get 3 octaves up and 3 down by using the 1, 1+2, 2 presses in each direction. So for instance playing a D I can go up and down a total of 7 octaves, plus I can squeak out one more with palm key D for a total of 8.

    Sir, I'm impressed. I would consider getting a GO if the fingerings could be changed to clarinet keys. Since the wind does not make true sound and the keys are switches it should be easy to reprogram the keys for clarinet fingering. But however, I see a few more keys might be needed to fully simulate the clarinet key layout, darn. I could see Roland capturing a whole new market of clarinetists if.... Most intriguing, your instrument method could be the instrument to allow me to playing the clarinet again, I lost bite control in Vietnam. Hooyah, salute!

      Hi. This Aerophone and all other Aerophones will work equally well with PC and Android gear. Personally I use Apple products which is why they are in my videos but PC and android version are available.
      Just remember the AE-30 is intended for the Pro player and therefor has quite a depth of potential. With that comes a requirement for a certain level of tech savvy to get the best from it. It’s worth looking carefully into the range to see which one suits your needs and skill level.

    Dear Alistair, Motivated by your videos I just bought a AE-30 Pro today. After I got the instrument out from the box, I tested the keys and I found that when I press down any of the keys, the key will not immediately released. I have a feeling that when I remove my finger away from the key, there is some power (like magnetic force) won't let the key go back to its original position immediately. This is my first to touch the AE-30 Pro and I have no idea if it is normal and designed that way. You are the expert for this instrument. Would you please let me know your answer? Thank you and have a great day. Mike from US.

      Hi Mike. Has this resolved for you now? Are the notes working properly. I think there could be a short playing in period.

      @@isax.academy : Thanks for your reply. The keys are working, but I still feel the keys are sticky. Is this normal with AE-30 Pro ?

      @@isax.academy HI Allstair, Will the foot controller (Pedalboard) work with Arophone Pro? Can I use the pedal to control the bend up, bend down or slide? Where can I find the instruction on setting up the Arophone pro with the pedal?
      Thank you
      Mike

    I would like a video on how to make the acoustic instrument patches sound more like the actual acoustic instruments! If that is possible to do.

      Pmwizard48. The parameters for editing a “scene” (the acoustic instrument) are found in the Aerophone pro app. But to be honest there is but so much that can be done to Really make a windsynth sound like a Real acoustic instrument. Some of the sounds can pass very well with John Q listener and if the patch/sound/scene is played well and understanding the limits of the sound you’re using. Also, it depends on your concept of what a real acoustic instrument should sound like. For instance, the sound of an alto sax is as varied as there are saxophonist. And with that said, an electronically produced sax sound/scene/patch will have flaws revealed depending how it is played.
      Del Franklin posted a great clip of him playing the tenor sax sound on the AE-30 and it sounded great. He didn’t play a bunch of riffs- which would have exposed weaknesses in any electronically produced (non-sampled) sax patch.
      In short you’re not going to get an exact replica of a real acoustic instrument on an electronic instrument but, yes you tweak parameters and play the sound within its limits and convince some listeners- “Wow! I didn’t know you played the violin as well. Where is it?”
      Just my .0000002 cents worth.

      Thank you for the quick reply. I do own an akai 400s with a Yamaha vl70 with the patchman turbo sounds.

      @@pneumasax yep, Del really found the heart of that patch. Some of the SuperNatural sounds are good but others will never fool anyone regardless of tweaks or player skill. That doesn't bother me because for me the SuperNatural sounds are a free bonus on top of the Zen-Core sounds.

    HOW DO I GET GROWL PLEASE HELP

    • @isax.academy
      @isax.academy  Před 10 měsíci

      Check out the parameter guide and the scene list.
      Different sounds deal with growl in a different way so you need to see which controls are set to growl for each sound and if necessary add your own control CC to make the growl work.

    Too bad they did not include any buttons to replace the left right motion of the joystick on the AE 10. It will now be less flexible to harmonize!

      I think the same in a way but the functions of the thumb pad and pitch bend wheel are very flexible and I'm finding I can do everything on the Pro that I did on the 10.

      @@isax.academy You can’t independently summon four different intervals like on the ae10. You just have the harmony sw option for the wheel and you can only utilize your one set of intervals rather than major thirds or minor thirds independently. If you figured out how please let us know!
