lundqvist was the first ranger player I really grew to love. he’s the reason i’m the ranger fan that I am today. it absolutely breaks my heart that he’ll never win a cup, or with the rangers he won’t at least, depending on what he does after the buyout. he deserves one more than anyone in the entire nhl rn. I just feel so horrible for the guy. 15 years with us and he never had defense in front of him. and he STILL stuck with us all this time because of how much he loves the team, the city, and the fans. truly a legend. I feel like part of my childhood is just gone. but hank, we love you. I can not thank you enough for everything you have done for this organization. long live the king.
This man was so deserving to win the cup. I am so upset that throughout all of these years the team couldn’t get him one. They came so close a few times, ugh. A remarkable career he had. He will always be “The King” to me. Cup or no cup. I do not care. Let’s Go Rangers!
cjr1881 nah I disagree with that. There were times where his team failed him on defense and offense when it mattered most. Of course, sometimes Hank blew it for his team in the playoffs. But, it takes a whole team to get the championship not just one. Just unfortunate for the entire team and Hank especially.
TheDolceLife I totally agree, they gave Lundqvist no defense. I won’t lie our defense was up there but it’s just all the players were too inexperienced, they had young players going up against the all-time vets.
As an Islander fan, I respect him, I think he deserved a cup, and he was one hell of a goalie, had an amazing career, and will go down as one of the greats
This man gave everything to this team & city on & off the ice... He basically achieved everything in hockey except the cup... He will forever be the KING...
@Banana Edits I've been a Boston Bruins fan since I was a kid, when Bobby Orr was in his prime. I wonder IF Boston might give Henrik a shot to play for them. But maybe he doesn't want to play for anyone else.
@@russellnewton1229 Maybe! I kind of doubt it but that certainly would be pretty cool. My guess is that he would want to finish in New York but you never know
That save on Marc Savard at around the :44 mark where Savard falls to the ice and looks at the ceiling is amazing. Savard went over and gave him a stick tap after that in respect.
The amount of times this man has stood on his head to give the Rangers a fighting chance against much more complete, superstar laden teams is insane. How we couldn't get him a cup is beyond me. I'm not old enough to have seen an NYR cup, but I was blessed to grow up watching prime Hank between the pipes. The King forever... 💙🤍❤️🤍💙
I saw it and it was nothing i can put to words. I will tell you this, he single-handedly brought a very similar feeling back to the Rangers/NY.... imagine if he got a cup or 6...
I will never forget him and he won’t forget me I was the kid on the ice during the anthem on November 19th next to hank he was the greatest goalie the nhl has ever seen
Henry is the best goalie to have ever joined the NHL in my book. He has made so many unbelievable saves when people think the opposing team has scored he has dropped millions of people’s jaws over the year. He is a legend.
I think i willed Marty St. Louie to the rangers, hes one of my all time favorite hockey players and the reason i had love for the bolts, Rangers always my number one, but tampa gets love too
I am a die hard sabres fan. But Hank was all my insperation and motivation to become a goalie. This video gives me tears. Especially watching it right after his hall of fame induction was anounced
Man gave his heart, soul and body to this team for 15 years. He deserves to retire on his own terms and get a gatorade ad like Jeter did. It should be a huge celebration that sells out MSG in seconds. Unfortunately that's not how its gonna happen. Thank you for your work in the crease King.
@@reality.... I was there! Wouldn’t have missed it for the world…he was there from the time I began following the Rangers as a 10-year-old, all the way through my mid-20s. He was the athlete of my childhood, adolescence, and young adulthood, a person I look up to because of his class, dedication, and will to win. It was special and a night I will always remember.
Heavy is the Head that Wears the Crown........... Forever A Ranger...... Foreverrrrrr......... The KING of New York!!! Been a Helluva Ride!!! So From the Bottom of my Heart....... Thanks Hank!! It's been a Pleasure Watching you Play. LGR!!!!
Some players when they leave, either by retirement, trade, or sign elsewhere, you still see their jerseys years later. Leetch, Messier, Graves. Richter. I think it's safe to say we can add Hank to that list.
I'm not a cryer but I shed a tear for this video. lundqvist was my favorite player and one of the reasons I got into hockey. Even though I was only a casual rangers fan for his prime (Im from southern CT) I still stuck through even with all the playoff losses. It's so sad that he most likely won't get a cup but I will always remember him for his dedication on and off the field.
I honestly don’t think it’s ever gonna hit me. I’m just gonna breakdown one day randomly and someone will ask why I’m crying and I’ll say “we could’ve done more for Hank”
im a Canucks fan and never really paid much attention to teams on the East but King Henrik is someone ill always think of when I hear New York Rangers. An icon to new york indeed.
I'm going to miss Hank. He was Rangers Legend. 15 years with the team but no Stanley Cup. It's sad to see him go because I grew up watching him playing in front of the net. He deserves a cup, but unfortunately, it's not going to happen.
it took every fiber of my being to stop myself from completely tearing up whilst watching this. it still hurts to know that he will never get the Cup he so truly deserved. he is right up there with patrick roy as my favourite goalie of all time. for me, patrick was my favourite growing up, as a kid and as an adult, it was henrik.
Even as a Leafs fan it will be so strange to never hear them announce Henrik as part of the Rangers. Such a sad surreal moment. I was sure he would retire there. Long live the King. You earned the title sir. I sincerely hope his name goes to the rafters and his number is retired in NY. All the best rangers fans.
i cant believe he’s retiring soon. i’m so happy i’ve got to watch him dominate the ice ever since i started watching hockey 6 years ago. i just really wish he would’ve gotten the chance to lift the cup :( he’s a huge inspiration to many and insanely talented. i wish him the best of luck and hope he’s involved with the rangers for a long time. thank you for everything king! 💙
Whyyyyyyy are you so good at these videos!! I mean, thank you. I was crying like 3 seconds in. (And I’ve been on board with this buyout) but still, the memories are too much.
time to cry, i feel like a piece of my childhood is gone

Very well said my friend. Long live king Hank!
Beautifully written, marvelous!
wasn’t the king who failed the city, the city failed the king 👑
He was the goalie the Rangers needed, not the goalie we deserved.
No its not both of those answer’s it’s the cruse
And I'm back here to cry. Thanks again Henrik.
i felt you bro ive seen it like 5 times. its just such a fitting song for him
There goes my hero. Thank you for everything Henrik.
Long live the king wearing his jersey rn
@BlubbaGaming do the rangers win Stanley cup when he comes back

Much respect to the king from a lightning fan .
The reason i became a hockey fan😔 Will be missed. No one deserves a cup more
Just Cried. U don’t understand. This man was my childhood.
The best Ranger ever.
A true legend and one of the best goalies ever.
The Rangers will never have a goalie as good as Henrik again...
The greatest NY Ranger all time and i think 6th in league history. Richter is most loved, Hank is greatest(stats wise).
As an Islander fan, I respect him, I think he deserved a cup, and he was one hell of a goalie, had an amazing career, and will go down as one of the greats
I teared up watching this wonderful tribute video 😥🙌

He didnt need a cup to be the greatest Rangers goalie of all time, by far...
I grew up watching Henrik play for the Rangers, and I’m sad to see him leave. Thank you for this tribute... I cry almost every time. ❤️❤️
The King, one of the greatest Rangers of all time.
I wanted them to show this for when hank comes back to the garden, but rest up and we’re praying for you🗽🗽🗽

Patrick Roy, Martin Brodeur, and Dominik Hasek beg to differ. A great goalie? Yes. The greatest the NHL has ever seen? No.
I can’t believe he won’t be a ranger anymore. I’m truly heartbroken💔.
Joe DeMarco I’m an Ottawa fan, and even I’m sad. The Rangers were part of Lundqvist, and now he’s lost them.
