Hunting BUCKS on Private Land BORDERS | Western Deer Hunt (EP. 4)

- In episode 4 of this western deer hunt, Michael Parente and Chris Neville of @GOHUNT are on the public lands of Montana searching for another buck for Michael to fill his tag on. Chris has filled his tag on a huge buck the previous night and they didn't get back to camp until late, so they decide to sleep in and get a late start.
The guys just continue to cruise to new areas and glass it as much as they can before continuing to move on. The plan is to cover as much country as possible to spot a buck. Michael had sets his eyes on a whitetail buck, but as more time passes he starts looking for mule deer as well.
Michael starts to feel the pressure build as they struggle to find a buck of public land that he can go after.

Glad you had a good time, that is what it is all about. Nice bucks for all 3 of you on this series. Suggestion for Michael: practice and get in the habit of using your rifle scope as a spotting device when you know you are looking at animals you may end up shooting at. Aiming and dry firing from different positions at a magazine or photograph of your intended quarry, with pack on and off, off hand, leaning against a tree, prone, setting. What happens if a buck runs onto your position while you are glassing?. I saw several opportunities blown because you were "getting ready to get ready"! Screw that, become the hunter and be ready to be in "kill mode" quickly. You're welcome.

I wish you guys would go back and listen to Randy's videos over time. He doesn't swear much if at all in most of them. Maybe learn about the audience that he built. That's the one that's tuning in (or tuning out) to the stuff you're posting.

I have the Seek Outside Little Bug Out floorless shelter with a hot stove inside and it's awesome. I have slept over 50 days in it. Great tent. I also picked up their Silex to drop some weight and have a smaller footprint for when I am trying to camp in deer beds on backcountry mulie hunts - haven't tried it yet.
Way to stick it out and hold out for that white tail.

Thanks. If it’s really cold and I know I’ll be hiking a little, glassing a lot, I love them. If I’m going to be hiking 2+ miles or more in one way, I probably wouldn’t wear them because my feet would sweat too much! Thanks for the comment!

Ever think why whitetails so spooky? What too much movement and chatter. Wear orange when you’re in the field during rifle season.

I started wearing knee length, hard soled Moccasins for hunting. Most comfortable hunting footwear I have ever worn. Stub your toes a bit more, but zero blisters and no foot sweat makes it worth it. Wish I had done it years ago...I have no idea how many thousands of dollars I have into hunting boots after 31 years of hunting.
These guys should start their own channel. When I see Randy's name I would like to see and hear Randy....just sayin.....

Kevin Wheeler - Goodness brother. Man that's a bit rough. These guys are good dudes and did alot of things right in my eyes. I got alot out of this content and would like to see more of it in the future (for free I might add). Too much tearing each other down in this community. Let's lift each other up. It's easy to be critical. It's work to do 30-40 hours of editing to give us these types of films that I actually did learn from.

in 40 yrs of hunting i ve never hunted with my gun unloaded or a spotting scope or a backpack full of useless items.
They keep a few rounds in the magazine but not one in the chamber for safety. When you have 4 guys all around each other with cameras I think it's a great idea. You must be a solo hunter. I get it. But they have a great idea there. It's 2 seconds to chamber a round or a lifetime to regret killing your buddy. I bring alot of crap in my pack too on day hunts - boy scout motto to always be prepared for bad weather. A twisted ankle could mean you are spending the night out there.

Dirtclod Az. Come on man. These guys are good dudes and produced some great free content. Who wants stuffy maturity in a hunting video anyways? They were just being themselves and enjoyed their hunt. All good. I learned some things from them and noticed how I might do some things differently but that's part of hunting.
