I have watched a lot of videos that cover this topic, this is by far the best one that I have seen, really great to see a country music song build up and technique used in logic. As a song writer and musician who loves country music, this was great to watch. Have just subscribed and look forward to seeing more videos.

Great stuff Forest! Love the insider tips and the banner that flies in explaining the advantages of a songwriter learning production! I would love to hear about how you approach remote co-writing via ZOOM, and especially how you get the clear sound from your DAW out to the stream. Thanks for all you are doing- I can't tell you how helpful it is!
Thats always a struggle with live streaming. have you heard of session wire? www.sessionwire.com/ I hear its the best at what you are talking about.
This is exactly what I've been looking for. Thanks dude

Songs from scratch are the BEST! Thanks Forest!!
Mike! Glad you are here dude!
my best experience in making different genres has been great with people like you
Man, Forest… I’ve just gotta say it’s been such a blessing to find this content. I actually watched your session with Clay and Marty on SongTown way back in 2016 or so and it gave me a taste of what I could do… but I spent a lot of time learning the tool, but didn’t understand there was a “workflow” and general process missing once I was family with the software and key aspects of it all... so, I’m familiar with Logic and working in a DAW in general, but what I’ve been missing an example of how a pro approaches the process. Anyway, thanks man… I’ve been writing a while and I’ve got plenty of songs I’d like to demo here at home and I think this gives me a lot of the tools I need.
One request would be that you show how you take something like an acoustic worktape and build a track for it… if that’s a thing you do I guess.
Thank you Forest this is awesome!
these videos are bloody great for us learning how write country songs..thank you
Solid again! That breakdown is nice.
thats my favorite part

First time listener. Thanks for sharing!!! Great content! I hear "The highway won't hold you tonight
The highway don't know you're alive
The highway don't care if you're all alone, but I do, I do.
The highway won't dry your tears
The highway don't need you here ..."
Awesome, Thank You Forest. Greetings from Argentina
🎹🥁 Thanks!
that sounds reall cool
great video man thank you
Amazing brother
this is actually really good...
Exelente job🎉
Hey Forest, I'd really like to see how you would produce a Non-Country song. In a different Genre like Pop, Rock, Rnb, Soul, Euro Pop, 80's Pop. I really like how simple your production is for the Vocalist to sing over. Cheers!
I've a beginner musician, and I've always struggled with coming up with vocal melody ideas, could you possibly do a tutorial on that, as a beginner we somehow get the idea of making beats but I struggle making catchy vocal melodies
Love your stuff! Maybe you could do a basic explanation video for beginners on how to use plug ins or samples. Also if you're starting on a budget what are some of your must haves?
Sounds great. About to start working on a country album w our guitarist on vox. For funzies. lol
Won’t be under the Jager Volant band name obviously. Thanks for the video.
What a video! Thanks so much! Craze how the mix between 808's and acoustic drums brings the mix to life. I will definitely be using your tips here for the song I'm currently working on. How do you feel about overdrive electrics on a modern country pop song? Any advice?
Superb
Honestly, I did Charlie puth and Ryan monthly training. They are great but yours is much more better under an hours. Much appreciated.
Thannksss mannnn
This was great
Can you please make a tutorial on writing guitar melodies like you add
Please they are just too goodd
I can do that!
@@forestwhitehead That would so great of you🙌
Cool.... 🤠
Mad tasty FW!
Thanks man, when we doing a video?
Big like 👍
Wow what a cool track. I'd like to get a resonator but right now dont have the cash. They can be very expensive but Thomann have then from about 250 euro (and they all the way up to thousands). I'll get the basic one. It should suit my needs.
Great Video.
Have you made a Video for traditional country?
Like the George Straight, Alan Jackson styles.
thanks for this. Id like to be able to create my favorite genres with just midi. I need to get a better set up for recording instruments.
Love the video man...Great content. Question for ya. What Mic is that you're using on the GTR and Generally what Mics do you use on vocals?
Peluso P12!
Great work… could you do a video of your initial mic setups in logic, from start to finish? I.e compressors, EQ, ….
Hi, Forest, sometimes I struggle on making sure the length of the ore-chorus is correct, also on making sure my song structure makes sense. Could you do a video on what main 5 or 3 song structures you use the most or recommend beginners to start with? 🙏🙏 thank you again, you rock!
This is a great idea. I will for sure. Thank you for your comment.
Yeeeeehawwwww
Fantastic!!
I actually have a request. Record, mix/produce Live drums. Does and don’ts. I struggle a lot with that. Would be great to get some tips from you.
Just discovered this video and appreciate the content! What is the brand of Resonator guitar you are using? With the electric strings has a nice hybrid sound going. Thanks!
🚀🚀🚀🚀
What kind of microphone did you use to record the
guitar? love your channel!
Great video. For multiple guitars would it be a good workflow to bus them to a guitar bus instead of having effects for each guitar?
I can hear Morgan wallen and Jimmie Allen on this!!
This is awesome did u place it or you forgot about I would love to put a record to it
Now all it needs is a Keith Urban Solo in vocal
I like it...I'm new here❤
Is that a Peluso 251? Would be awesome if you shared the mic chain you use for acoustic and vocals? Sounds like a 251 through ??pre?? into your LA2A. Great work Forest. Thanks.
Great guess. It’s the peluso p12 going into the neve pre into purple audio mc77 into Logic
@@forestwhitehead awesome thanks for sharing. cannot go wrong with that signal path.
Which Snare drum do you take ? It Sounds awesome
Always fun to watch you at work. But what happened to your Studio One? Why have you reverted to Logic?
I work in both.. I have a very special video coming out soon on rebuilding a track happening in Studio One 5! I actually prefer studio one 5 but I have many production students who use Logic so I float back and forth.
@@forestwhitehead Thanks! I'll certainly watch for that one.
Be Great content! I know you use both autotune and Melodyne from previous videos but, Could you do a tutorial on autotune pro graph mode?
Thanks for all the awesome videos!
I'll look into that for sure. I do primarily use melodyne for tuning vocals.
Forest I absolutely love what you created ❤ I have allready written lyrics to it. If u want to hear, let me know :)
Lori
Also, what do you recommend as the best plug-in for country music?
Nice LA-2A in the back 👀
Hey Forest, I just stumbled across this video and was really impressed by you recordings I was wondering if you could help me out. 'm a 61 year old retired navy vet that is trying to set up my own home studio. I was in a country band many years ago while I was in the Navy. I have all of my instrument but need advice on a Midi controller Keyboard and other equipment I may need to get started I'm looking at the Arturia MKii 61. I do write lyrics and have a really good ear, but am a little behind on the electronics, I'm looking for mid-level equipment.. Just to give you an idea, I do vocals in an empty closet lol. Anyway, any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance. P.S. I do have my daughter-in-law who is in the industry living in Nashville... hint hint. excellent vocals .
