Could everyone stop reacting to the live version of this song, please? Dont get me wrong but The original studio audio version is much much better especially the outro solo. Never react to a live version as a 1st reaction

Its between this song, "Time" and "Dogs" for me. I got to see Pink Floyd live 10 times...truly a Transendent experience! Wonderful!

as i watch you reactions i'm picking up on some of your mannerisms...when you smile you know you're hearing goodness....when your head starts to sway...you're hooked.....then when all of you is moving to the beat smiling.....you must be experiencing Pink Floyd....lol....i feel you are genuine when i get to see your time to hear this....the same way as i did 48 years ago
You have officially been "Gilmourized".
I was lucky enough to have seen Pink Floyd's Pulse tour at Clemson, SC Death Valley stadium, 100,000 people, then see Roger Waters The Wall in Pittsburgh 2010, they played The Dark Side of the Moon album start to finish in Clemson, plus pretty much everything else, Roger Waters played The Wall from start to finish, plus build a enormous wall during the concert, they never be another Pink Floyd, and feel privileged to have seen Comfortable Numb live twice, David and Roger's version, chills just thinking about it

I love the message of this song, it's one I point to when I am trying to make the point that Pink Floyd didn't sing about "sex, drugs, n' rock n' roll" - well, really EVER, but often about things that matter like empathy and compassion for the human condition. This is just a very direct, unambiguous version of what they had been singing about for years. HOWEVER, I don't love the sonic experience of this song. I think David singing at the very tip-top of his register doesn't work for me, and the 80's-ism of the instrumentality makes it stick out more than most in their otherwise timeless back catalogue (along with a few others off aMLoReason). Live Floyd performances, on the other hand, are ALWAYS amazing and this is no exception. Thanks for the 2-in-1 with Wish You Were Here tacked on to the end. :-)
Oh and btw, the live album from the Momentary Lapse tour is called "The Delicate Sound of Thunder", and it is 100% masterful.
