    Here the BMW 1 series, the last of its kind, a 1.5 litre, three pot engine with a turbo and rear wheel drive packaging. A very unique car indeed, in fact, a collectible classic.

    Totally agree with you, Mr. Bobby. Drove it a few weeks ago & it definitely felt it has more than 136HP. Lovely handling & comfy ride for a M Sport, wish it comes with paddle shifts too. Surpassed my expectations for an entry level BMW.

    • @BobbyAngmalaysia
      @BobbyAngmalaysia  Před 6 lety +1

      +lteikjin if you are not an enthusiastic driver, wont join ulu yam drives etc. Just prefer to drive smooth etc, then the V40's solid build, sound proofing and plus interior is something the 1 series cannot match. But if you are a keen driver like me, the V40's handling cannot touch the 1 series. But the 1 series's power is almost 100hp down from V40 for the same price. Making the 1 series a very good, very exoensive Ford Focus 1.5 turbo whereas the V40 is yet another bargain for the 250hp horsepower it gives. Off the traffic lights or at highways, the V40 can flash many 1 series off in a very fast manner

    Hey Bobby, just wanna ask your opinion regarding the power of B38 1.5T engine. From your video, it seems you enjoyed very much and felt the power is more then advertise.
    My experience is a little different when I test drive the new F40 118i. Don’t feel much power. More like a delicate power rather aggressive type compared to Golf 1.4T(mk 7) which on paper has less hp and torque (123bhp and 200nm vs 138bhp and 220nm). If you watched the sgcarmart review for 118i, their reaction is the same I had when I drove the 118i. Just wanna know what’s your comment on this? It is because the new 118i is a FWD or the new variant has lesser power.. thx!

    • @BobbyAngmalaysia
      @BobbyAngmalaysia  Před 5 lety

      it's not so much a model problem, but a spec problem. When the angry bird was facelifted to the handsome bird, BMW malaysia specced a 120i with M Performance parts. That suspension was so hard the FD2R's suspension is outright Kingcoil mattress ... :p

      I've been driving an RS265 for the past 1.5 years, about 65km per day. The Renault has nearly twice the HP & over 1.5 time more torque than the 118, my fuel economy also sits at 10.5l/100km, so not so good... It's an absolute weapon around country roads but you have to live with the compromise around town.
      The BMW has a much nicer interior and probably ride a lot better. It probably wouldn't feel that much slower in city traffic either, as that 1.5 triple is a gem.

    • @BobbyAngmalaysia
      @BobbyAngmalaysia  Před 7 lety

      +Gabriel Tam
      +Gabriel Tam haha no way it can catch up to the RS265. This 118 just recently got those uber comfortable suspension. 3 years ago when bmw kitted the 120i M Sport, it was barely driveable on day to day driving. I love the Megane's suspension, firm but not harsh. Almost bought it if not for the hopping on NS highway at high speeds due to the suspension and aeros

    • @Gabrieltamdesign
      @Gabrieltamdesign Před 7 lety +1

      +Booby Ang Of course, the 118 or for that matter the 86/BRZ will not keep up, but since OP is a sales job guy, he might want to keep his driver's license! Also as your other video alluded to, the Megane is still a very pretty car especially the pre-facelifted model.
      BTW, only started watching your video this weekend, gotta give you a big thumbs up for your honest, a matter of fact style of presentation. It's a million times better than those so call car bloggers from the UK and US. In my humble opinion, your contents are right up there with Autogefühl and Savagegeese on CZcams.

Or is it just the case that you would like to spend that kind of money and that car seems the most worthwhile?" I'd go for the 1 series. Accord can buy anytime, 40 years old, 50, 60 ... cars like the MINI, A Class and this... you buy them when you're in your 20s or 30s.
