I went to Reading Terminal Market and really enjoyed it, they've got lots of great produce from fruits and vegetables to fish and meat. We enjoyed their eateries and desserts. I will definitely visit the market the next time we visit Philadelphia.
One of my most favorable places to visit whenever I'm back in town. Absolutely love the variety of food and the atmosphere is something no where can compare with.

Years ago, when the market was less 'gentrified,' I remember seeing a fish monger filleting a shad. This fish has a complex bone structure and it takes a true expert to fillet one. It may even be a lost art now and the shad runs have really dwindled along the east coast.

I always make a beeline for Beiler's. I LOVVEEEEE!! THEIR PICKLES!!!!! Another shop i like is 4th Street cookie. where is Kauffmans in relation to Beiler's?

There are no tent "cities" in Center City, Phila.
Just walk past homeless panhandlers. Don't give them anything.
