In my opinion, this officer has been getting away with his tactics for so long because the people that he ticketed did not have over 500,000 friends and supporters to speak up for them and to get the attention of the governor. I know that I would not feel comfortable to come into Utah with a boat as long as this man is still employed by the state. Thank you "Ride Utah TV" for the up dates.

Your video was on the recommended videos after watching Fab Rats video. I Agree with you he should lose his job. As someone who has worked for the state of California in the CCC to get experience to work for State parks or other agency's they tend to only hire people they have connections with and then try to keep them even when they are not right for the job. Worked with a lot of trails guys and it seems like a 50/50 split on these types of people. The higher ups tend to want these types of people so they can use them like attack dogs.

I’m sure fab rats doesn’t feel like this but it’s good that they got hit because this guy has probably been getting away with it and wheeling his power to his own Liking.
Most anybody else he’s been harassing has probably had to pay because they don’t have the film to back them up in court as fab rats would have had. And yes he needs to go there are a lot of good officers out there and they need to weed out the bad ones otherwise your image is tarnished across the community.

He's the dirtbag that tried to kill a deer on private property with children around for no legal reason. His reasons are because he was given the power to do so. He was removed from that position but he should've been charged with poaching and firing a weapon in a residential area with children around. Any of those things done by a random person he would arrest them. There shouldn't be 2 types of justice and 2 different groups for who has to follow the law and who can be held accountable for breaking the law!

    • @jimyeats
      @jimyeats Před 11 měsíci +2

I agree with your sentiment but the guy wasn’t trespassing. He was clearly invited in to Paul’s shop, and asking questions about an investigation - however ridiculous - is not entrapment.
Entrapment would be if a DWR officer persuaded or convinced a boater that they didn’t need to stop and clean off their boat or do a mussel inspection and then arrested them or charged them with not doing what they were supposed to do.
Trespassing would be if he entered Pauls home or shop or property without consent, or stayed after consent was withdrawn. Simply driving down someones drive-away to knock on the door to request permission into the abode is not trespassing.

Way out of line. An overreach of power. We once had a game warden officer ( I don't remember his proper name but he was referred to as Toke eye) here in my neck of the woods who thought he was the sheriff of the whole county. Trying to bust people for things that he had no jurisdiction over. Another wanna be cop like a lot of security guards and the like. There are more good officers than bad that understand their job duties. One bad apple makes everyone look bad unfortunately a lot of the time. Paul Cox did nothing wrong outside of saving the state wages for their staff to remove the boat/trash from a long dried up lake bed and restored it and has been trying to return it to its owner instead of keeping it for himself or trying to sell it for a profit and doing it all for free. If it wasn't for him and his relation and crew the boat would have been scrapped. That boat was so dried out for so long there were a couple mice living in it.. He did the state good not bad. He was only singled out because of his youtube channels success. Paul is a saint not a sinner and the world need more like him. Goodness of the heart should not be punished but praised. The state owes him an apology at minimum. If the truth was known the officer might have had his eye on it for his own. It reminds me of NY trying to take Trump down. Ain't going to happen.

Had seen many videos of how low the lake was with that boat Fabrats got charged on, being high and dry for months. Plus there was a mouse nest inside, if that boat had only been on shore for less then 30 days, plus the time between when Paul heard about the boat, went and looked at it, doing all the calls and paperwork to go get the boat and doing removal had to be well over the 30 days required. Okay here is my two cents on this, the first time I seen that vessel was in a CZcams video about the water level in the lake, probably about 18 months before Paul went down to look at it. I remember it because it was a pretty little vessel with clean sharp lines I remember thinking to myself oh, what a waste. In my younger days I laid a lot of fiberglass and was surprised by how well it had stood up under time underwater. That boat had been high and dry for a while. The first time that vessel seen water in years was when Merlin took a hose to it. So this out of control officer sporting a judge dredd complex, though he was doing Paul dirty just exposed the corruption he is involved in. Guess he didn't figure on the backlass and support of Paul's fans . Never entered his mind that he was going to become a CZcams star. Whoops .

The Forest Service also has "LE" that harass people in the forests. I was in a conference room testing video conferencing equipment and "LE" was in the next room with all the regional staff in attendance. (Region 3, NM and AZ) The leader of the group was discussing the activity they had patrolling the forests. The gist was how to harass people minding their own business and using sneaky methods to search people in the forest camping and riding the trails. They reveled in stories of how they arrested people by pushing them so they could arrest them for resisting the officers. As a senior manager in the FS I was appalled but then I remembered that many of these LE people are junior grade and are wearing badges that gave them unprecedented authority over others. A very bad combination.

If there were actually any good police officers (i. e. law enforcement officers) there would be no bad police officers because they would be arrested for their crimes.

I live in Wyoming, but the invasive muscle BS is the reason I got rid of my boat. This is nothing more than bureaucrats lobbied by tree huggers to give these alphabet agencies the power to create rules that persecute law abiding citizens that just want to enjoy the outdoors. Taxes is the first step in taking away your access to public lands, rivers, lakes, and creeks. You want to have a boat or ATV look at all the read tape and fees (taxes) you have to pay!!! You can't tell me muscles only get across state lines by hitching a ride on some one's boat or jet ski, there are so many tributaries & rivers that cross state lines, these are much more of a threat to upsetting the balance of the eco-system than a personal water craft. Time to take back your rights and it starts with your local sheriff growing a pair and running rogue state and federal agencies out of their counties.

Given this officers 'history' and the disciplinary action, (or lack thereof), I think that serious questions should be asked of those who are supposed to be overseeing these officers and reviewing their actions. The sudden decision to set up catch stations in Kanab stinks of retaliation. And of course they will say that it had NOTHING to do with the public calling out of the DWR officer. Of course they will SAY that this had been proposed years ago and the timing is 'purely coincidental,' and we will believe it just as IF it were true.

Harrison County Texas once nominated a game warden for sheriff to get him out of the woods because of his dubious behavior as warden.

If enrollment really wanted to help with this, they should just help people at the lakes to make sure all is good. Without the fines and court dates. As for this rogue officer, I think the state will produce some unwanted pressure on that office and officer rogue will be gone.

We had one just like him in vernal it’s been a few years age he tried trapping people all of the time after so many complaints instead of firing him they relocated him last I heard he was in southern Utah but he might have retired by now but I don’t think it’s a service to not make his name public every one should hear about him but on the other hand the good ones should be publicly praised and thanked the public shouldn’t fear there law enforcement like the KGB or something

Glad I'm no longer an outdoors kind of guy (my health doesn't allow it). No knock on Utah as I've never been there but I've seen law enforcement abuse of citizens and their rights for years in every place I've been. It at least sounds like something may be done now to deal with it in your area.

I support LAW ENFORCEMENT officers absolutely.
    Cops not at all.
That being said, if any government official can not be trusted and if a cops charges are dismissed the majority of the time or even a lot of the time, then they are obviously violating the law and should be arrested, charged, prosecuted, and imprisoned; no matter who they are or what branch of government they work for. It is the law and it is their sworn duty to do so.
“Letting a demonstration be judged by its most violent participants but not judging a police force by its most violent cops is the language of the oppressor.”
    --R. Andrew Free
Bad police officers can only exist with the approval and protection of all of the other police officers, which makes them accessories before, to, and after the fact. If there were actually any good police officers (i. e. law enforcement officers) there would be no bad police officers because they would be arrested for their crimes.
A police force that approves and protects bad police officers can only exist with the approval and protection of the chain-of-command, which makes them accessories before, to, and after the fact. If there was any good police officers in the chain of command, there would be no bad police officers because they would be arrested for their crimes by the good police officers (i. e. law enforcement officers).
    Byrd v. Brishke, 466 F.2d 6, 11 (7th Cir. 1972)
“We believe it is clear that one who is given the badge of authority of a police officer may not ignore the duty imposed by his office and fail to stop other officers who summarily punish a third person in his presence or otherwise within his knowledge. That responsibility obviously obtains when the nonfeasor is a supervisory officer to whose direction misfeasor officers are committed. So, too, the same responsibility must exist as to nonsupervisory officers who are present at the scene of such summary punishment, for to hold otherwise would be to insulate nonsupervisory officers from liability for reasonably foreseeable consequences of the neglect of their duty to enforce the laws and preserve the peace.”

The UTAH DWR issued Fab Rats a citation saying they transported mussels across state lines. Then Fab Rats posted a video about it and the DWR removed the citation. The DWR officer is on a video and he even says the mussels were dead. The boat had been out of water for about a year and the policy is if it’s been in the water the last 30 days. They cleaned it before transport, then it sat in Glendale UT for a winter, then went to AZ and got pressure washed again. czcams.com/video/0CJ1zaS7Teo/video.html and czcams.com/video/R1GrdXPr2kw/video.html. The original finding of the boat was posted on December 27, 2021. The rear was still in a bit of water. It was not in any water when Fab Rats went to look at it the first time. Then an ignorant news channel does a story on it and tries to degrade a local CZcamsr. ABC4 UTAH does not do any research

Quagga/Zebra mussels primarily move from one place to another through human-related activities. They attach to hard surfaces and can survive out of water for up to a week. The microscopic larvae also can be transported in bilges, ballast water, live wells or other equipment that holds water.
