- LIVE on Kickstarter: the Benro Polaris - Smart Electric Tripod Head
It's a smart electric tripod head with a camera interface controller, remote DSLR preview & configuration through WiFi/Cellular. Back today at www.kickstarter.com/projects/...

Really revolutionary! Can't wait to receive it!
Finally a revolutionary product.
Supporting some of the PTZ protocols like VISCA would be great to control using existing controllers.
this looks really convenient for many situations. It may not replace my star adventurer 2 for some situations, but wow, for many every day, go-to, scenarios this device seems like it will be a game changer. i guess I could take off my leveling base from the tripod since this has auto leveling. that would make real estate photography go a lot quicker for sure. I can think of many scenarios where this device could be an advantage. Even tho I can do time lapse movements on my gimbal, or Star Adventurer, those both require more set up, for example.
How close can you polar align with this? What is the margin of error for this mount?
I will buy the second gen tripods. Anyway first gen are always a test kit. Amazing work guys. Finally a tripod head that will revolutionize camera industry
Thank you! We are excited as well.
This is genius. Very impressed.
Thank you!
I really2x wish those gears has a clutch mechanism & an attachable handle to convert it into a fluid head when not actively electronically operated.
An electronic head to rule them all & in the darkness find them (stars).
Looks classy
Need to sell a nice wedge for it too (assuming software can deal with a wedge). Would make an excellent astro tracker with a wedge.
Can you use the tripod changing the elevation?
From the video around 4 mins in, it shows the guy adjusting the path curve. I can't find that function on the app (iOS version). Am I missing something?
Good for Stock footage
How do you connect remote using cellular
商品が回転してる絵を見せられてもどんな絵が撮れるのか(動きのスムーズさとか)分らん バカなのか?
I'm confused. I just purchased the Astro Package and I was hoping to use this for Milky Way photography with exposures from 1 to 2 minutes but from some of the comments below this appears questionable as to whether this will work for exposures of this length. Is there anyone here who can provide a definitive answer? Thanks. .

Very nice
Can you use small telescopes to shoot nebulas and galaxies ? Like does it have precise skytracking for the deepsky astrophotography ?
The Polaris app will have a star database, and you will be able to have precise tracking down to .01 degrees.
@@BenroUSA But as I understand it's not for long exposure astrophotography because it can't find and track at the same time can it ?

Looks amazing. I could not understand if Polaris can automatically align with the celestial pole to allow really long exposures of stars like 2 to 5min.
Not when it's mounted in altitude/azimuth mode, there would be field rotation. A wedge set to your particular latitude would be needed. If your interest is long exposure astrophotography search for "Skywatcher Star Adventurer"
The Polaris aligns with the celestial pole by using the built in GPS + compass plus the "Astro" add-on. You'll be able to get those long exposures you're looking for!
@@BenroUSA In an Alt/Azimuth mounting over long exposures the field will rotate. If this can be mounted in equatorial mode the field would remain static. Alt-azimuth mounted telescopes used for astrophotography suffer from field rotation. Field rotation causes star images on the sensor to circle around the center of the field of view.
@@BenroUSA except it won't, without an equatorial wedge, field rotation will show up. Pointing towards polaris and aligning to polaris are two different things.
@@meatmeatmeat1528 Hey Lorenzo, I get the impression Benro doesn't know what we're talking about.
How cold of temperatures will this work in?

Is this available in Canada? If not, when? Thanks!
You can get more information by contacting the Benro distributor in Canada at info@macgroupca.com
How it works with deep sky astrophotography!? It works withe olympus em1 mark ii!??
Hi Daniel, The Olympus EM1 Mark ii is supported. You can see the full list here. www.benro-polaris.com/store/adapted.html
Does it completely substitute an equatorial mount? How long its exposures could achieve?
Probably not. It looks to be an alt-az type mount. Maybe you can mount it on an equatorial wedge. Probably max 45 secs before field rotation becomes noticeable.
@@LukeVadekar nothing to do with field. Field blur apoears much early than 45s. Equatorial or this mount anyone will produce the same for field. Blanding is necessary. The problem is precision and dealing with alignment and the weight. These are factors which reduces the time exposure due to lost of star tracking not because the field.
@@raphaelcoelho1557 an equatorial mount showing field rotation?
Is this Auto leveling? I think it might be a good addition to my real estate photography kit
My thought exactly! It looks like the astro version does. Would be nice to have auto-leveling via hardware button.
I take that back, looks like the roll axis has no adjustment, so you would have to level through the legs. The astro add-on gives you a third axis, but it's only rotation again at the top.
@@dennisradermacher2075
They need an FAQ for this.. I've been looking for information about manual adjustments & I don't see a way to adjust roll unless no photos of the Astro version are posted. Also no information about the weight. Do you think it can it be used as a fluid head manually? (Probably not).
The uses I gathered are: Starlapses, Timelapses, Sunset/sunrise-composition-assistance, focus stacking, HDR, remote settings/shooting, & self portraiture.
(They need to bullet this stuff.)
Probably, more like an Arsenal 2 with motion for 3 times the price.. not sure if Arsenal AI does something that this doesn't.
Haven't backed it yet. I'm monitoring this probably coz Benro is pretty pricey & it's a steep discount on KS. I backed out of my peak design tripod & I semi-regret that now 😅.
Ok, so I found the weight (1.1kgs).
Found the 3rd nob. Realize that this can't be used as a manual Fluid Head since it's more of a precision & planning tool than a responsive movement tool. With the gyro & built-in processor, they could've made it an electronic fluid head but that would require low latency movement and/or image streaming.

How to buy it? I want it with urgency for my work
Hi Marcelo: Thank you for your enthusiasm. But this is only available to back on Kickstarter right now. www.kickstarter.com/projects/benropolaris/polaris-smart-electric-tripod-head?ref=6tba32
Can you add keyframes to Polaris?
Unfortunately you cannot. The only ‘keyframes’ that you can set are start and endpoints.
Can you remotely focus your camera?
Yes. The focus will be taken from the center of the frame.
When will this release?
We're looking to announce later this year. Stay tuned!
Can you shoot in bulb mode ?
Yes, you can shoot in bulb mode with Polaris as long as your camera supports bulb mode in PC tether modes.
@@BenroUSA Thankyou
Where can I buy it
The Polaris will be available later this year. Stay tuned for an official launch date!
Is this water proof ip 67
It is water resistant at rating IPX6.
9 months later and still to working demo
什么时候量产,强烈需要
Hi! It is still in final development.
