Not big on Mount but would love Gundo. With Xhaka leaving we definitely need the experience there. A serial winner. But like you, not sure I see it happening. I think he’ll go abroad. But if there is a PL club who could entice him, I feel it’s Arsenal. The Arteta factor and project would be a challenge worth taking. But wouldn’t be surprised to see him in Spain or Germany next season.
Gundo will either stay at City for 2 more years or go Barca. If he stays hopefullly we can pivot to City's potential Gundo replacement in Kovacic. Kova would be perfect for that Xhaka role.
Mount would be a great option as depth for our midfield depending on price. He is young, English, and is a bit different player to Ode. I like the signing.
A midfield of Caicedo/Kova, Partey/Rice/Jorginho, Ode/Mount could really challenge for silverware. Huge upgrade.

Yeah, our squad ain't built out yet. We have just enough depth to be competitive in the league but nothing more, let alone winning the thing after 38 are played and also being competitive in the 2/3 cup tournaments each year. I'd take all 3 MFs mentioned here along with a striker. We probably also may need a utility player that can play multiple positions and cover at full back in a pinch.
Gundogan would be great for Arsenal despite him being the wrong side of 30, but I can't see that materialising tbh? He's more likely to go to Barca "as rumour has it" or maybe back to Germany!
As for Mason Mount hmmm 🤔 not 100% sold on that one however, I felt the same about Declan Rice, but have now changed my opinion on him greatly... Hasn't had a great season tbf but has still steered West Ham to a Euro Final, so he & the rest of the West Ham squad deserve praise for that & Rice himself has contributed with goals.
Initially I was so convinced with the Mount prospect, but I doubt his technical skills. Gundogan would be a level raiser, and the reason we improve from this season or not. Mount might be better than Xhaka, and should be considered if we can't get a better option. Atleast I prefer him to Tielemans in that Xhaka role😅😂

There's no chance in hell Gundogan leaves City for Arsenal. Apparently Gundogan wants a longer contract, City are offering him 2 years the second year being an option, Gundogan is looking for a longer contract, but he turns 33 in October, City don't give out long contracts once players reach a certain age, Barcelona on the other hand are offering him 2 years plus an option for a further year, so unless Arsenal offer him 3 years with a further year plus a ridiculous wage increase then I can't see it. My feeling is he'll find a compromise with City and stay, but even if he left it would be to go abroad.
Gondugan would be a good signing on a 1-2 year deal, IF Xhaka leaves. Just annoying that it’s after a City stint but it is what it is... Rice to Arsenal, Im all for it. Quality signing, fills homegrown quota, a step up to majority of Arsenal’s 6s and good competition for Arsenal’s 8s & finally, good for the long term. Mount, I just don’t know..
