There’s a time that CM Punk was on commentary and told Michael Cole “ That’s why I’m the wrestler and you’re the announcer”. Seconds later Michael says “ you’re not a wrestler, you’re a WWE superstar!” It felt like Vince told him to say that.
That sounds like an insult lol

You completely forgot about Owen Hart. Refusing to do a story line where he was sleeping with Debra, and still taking the brunt of the punishment for Bret, Owen was forced back into the Blue Blazer character, which ultimately led to losing his life.
Oh shit
I did not know that at all. Wow.
omg
Yup, so messed up
They completely mistreated Owen, and it goes without saying the ceiling entrance in Kansas City was so unnecessary, however I feel like I'm the only one who liked the Blue Blazer gimmick. Growing up Blazer vs Mr. Perfect WrestleMania 5 was always one of my favorite matches
"Let me tell you a personal story about Vince McMahon. You know this whole antibully campai-"

I remember writing my university research paper in business school about the WWE and them getting away with classifying wrestlers as "independent contractors" despite very obviously legally matching (and over extending) the definition of an employee. I was called into a board meeting because my university was blown away (questioning) that this place existed on the scale I claimed it did... they were floored.
That’s dope as hell
I wanna know more! Lol in fact, you should turn this into a video!!
@ENT Broadcast Corporation I'm genuinely confused as to why my 2+ year comment is now receiving hits? I don't keep up with the WWE and haven't in half a decade. As for "knowing", this was common knowledge for hardcore fans from the 90's/early 00's. I'm not claiming to "know" anything that was not readily available to everyone else through testimonies, interviews and paper trails of literally dozens (probably close to hundreds now) of ex employees, maybe you just didn't care enough to look?
@@marcyangela9298 youtube algorithm at work. This was at top of recommendations for me just now.

Remember when Randy Orton forgot his lines and rookie shemus had to remind him? He can call a rookie kofi stupid for forgetting a move but if he forgets his lines.. that's ok. Makes sense
+1 I hate when rookie or some wrestler gets insane shit for nothing or just minor thing (like Titus who got punished for grabbing Vince arm ?....) and some other can get away with almost everything. And for Orton, we can also add many times he broke character or keyfabe while being still on air, filming by fan, etc.
@@jgespana866 😂😂😂I remember that arm grabbing thing. I was so lost
Forgetting lines isn’t going to injure someone is it
@@1882Stu true, but if Randy didn't overreact and just RKO him, then tell him punt kick and hit him with it then no one would've realized Kofi screwed up. Him standing up when he was supposed to be prone isn't gonna injure anyone either.
Mike Cabral him overacting is your opinion. He was just teaching a young worker some respect in my opinion.
The Lita retirement really pissed me off at the time.

WWE backstage sounds like it's ran by a bunch of teenage girls. WWE needs to be investigated. These guys are performers actors who perform live high action plays not slaves, and property.
Description of Vince's brain.
Kameron Bryant this was common in many locker rooms not just WWE. Look up what Kevin Nash did to Samoa Joe and TNA and just about anything that happened backstage at an ECW show.
Why hold pro wrestling to a standard that literally no other profession does? Looking back on the jobs i've had, all of them had the same level of bullying, backstabbing, cliquish behavior one found in any high school today.
Youre talking about the wrestlers as if they are slaves being forced to do things they don’t want to do. WWE gave them high paying jobs and gave them guaranteed money while giving them the chance to live their dream to work for the biggest promotion in the world. They lost their jobs due to a worldwide virus that has seen an unprecedented Amount of people Lose their jobs. I actually feel like you’re just trolling at this point.
Kevin Nelson He wouldn’t know he’s a wwe hater who doesn’t know anything about wrestling
I guess if it wasn’t for Randy Orton, Kofi Kingston would have held a world title a lot sooner than WrestleMania 35.
Ikr
Probably not, honestly. He was getting a serious push, but it's clear the powers that be didn't have THAT much faith in him. At least from what i remember watching that whole thing as a kid

He actually is. While he does the role of annoying heel you want to see get rightfully beat up very well. He actually is a decent guy offscreen.

Honestly I was kinda happy he beat the Bro tonight! Matt Riddle just comes off so douchie! haha
No! We shouldn't just forget the Brawl for All. It still stands as an amazing achievement for Mr. Gunn. Dude went in as the ultimate underdog (except for anyone who knew him apparently) and put down the toughest of the tough of arguably the toughest locker room of all time. Let's respect it for what it was, and Mr. Gunn for who he is.
I agree. Everyone talks about how bad it was and refuses to give Gunn any credit. It makes me sad.
Baron: we should probably be safer in the ring
Vince: so you have chosen catering
I disagree that we should forget about "Brawl For It All". We should hold the WWE accountable for the terrible idea and ruining careers. If we forget about it, we are doomed to repeat it...
We most DID repeat it. *Very* recently.
Who’s career was ruined?
How are u gonna hold them accountable?
@CMACKCHILL True on Bart Gunn but it ruined Dr Death's career in WWE because he was suppose to be pushed. Plus it broke up the New Midnight Express like almost right after they formed

No-selling for the Acolytes is against the company's wellness policy.
Object lesson there: don't tell Ron Simmons and John Layfield that you're not doing the table spot just before you go to the ring.
Well now I just feel bad for old Corbs, he’d know just how bad concussions can be after he was in and around American football. What a shit way to lose your briefcase, thanks to trying to keep people safe.

Poor Carlito that his return got cancelled because of Vince

That's not true. Vince gave the ok for him to return. I think it was Triple H who offered him a contract that paid as low as a developmental talent so he didn't take the offer.

i do remember public enemy being ganged up upon a few times. one time there was a four-way tag team match that ended up with three teams ganging up on public enemy on raw. thought this was probably because they just came from wcw during that buyout merger & wwf/wwe at the time was sending a message their wrestlers were better. that was one of the last times i saw public enemy live on tv. rocco rock died a few years later.
Public Enemy came to wwe before the buyout
@David Campbell Bubba Ray Dudley said it was because PE was supposed to get put through tables by the APA, but PE told Simmons before the match that they weren't doing the table spot. Bradshaw then asked Ron what they had said, then he told Ron that they were going to teach them a lesson.

What about Saturn, when WWE had him fall in love with a mop, for losing is cool against a jobber?
This was fun! Didn’t totally happen on air but HHH came out of retirement just to beat CM Punk and then went back into retirement
WWE: "We are partnering up with Be A Star to promote anti-bullying."
Also WWE: *bully your hottest female talent so much they cry for real*
JBL vs Blue Meanie . Shocked that didn’t make the list. It was brutal.
Interesting you include the HHH interview there... HHH recently came out talking about it and how they had multiple takes to get all the different camera angles. Less of a punishment, more of a promo for him
How is it that Simon's videos continue to look to notch while the rest of WhatCulture looks like webcam video from the early 00's?

I remember watching that lita situation thought it was messed up cause of her history
Where the hell is the reactions from the wrestlers being punished all you're doing is mentioning what the punishment was
They can't really show the actual audio or video of the situations because of copyright laws. WWE is strict AF so thats why anytime you see a wrestling channel doing a story they mostly show only stills or text of the situation they are referring to. I'm surprised they can even show the still images honestly. WWE is like a very overprotective parent. I understand though because why would anyone buy WWE network , if the content was free on CZcams.
@@chadmiller7876 I would agree with you except for they show some stuff even if it's just still pictures and he's not even explaining what the reaction is he's just telling us what happened for that person to have a reaction but not explaining what the reaction was how they reacted excetera
@Dustin Congello Yea, I know where you're coming from. I get that they have to be careful because of copyright and all that, but still.... My issue is why #1 was not just #1, but even on the list. A "worked shoot"? What the hell?
@@karlepaul6632 the actual interview was a worked shoot, since this was the Vince Russo era of WWE booking and Russo being the moron he was thought all wrestling fans read the dirt sheets in 98-2000. So he would take real stuff and work it into storylines. So he took the real story of HHH's punishment for the curtain call and worked it into a angle
Honorable mention: the epic chairshot from stevie richards to jbl.
Public Enemy was in WWF for about a month after that Acolytes beatdown. I particularly remember an episode of _Shotgun_ with a four-way tag match between Too Much, DOA, the Hardy Boyz and Public Enemy. None of the other team would tag in PE until the end where Rocco tagged himself in, whereupon the other teams all ganged up on PE and they *all* pinned both of them. Before an during the match even the announcers were like "nobody in the locker room likes them." Nobody talks about that one though, maybe because it was on _Shotgun._
Pugilist? Is Simon trying to do Greg Davies doing Chris Eubank?
"I wasn't a fighter, I was a pugilist! -Greg Davies
Ode Odendahl my name is maximus
Daniel Puder at Royal Rumble 2005. They beat the hell out of him in that match for his bad attitude
What actually happened was during Daniel's debut match on Smackdown against Kurt Angle he KO'd Kurt when he got Kurt in a submission and well let's just say Kurt wasn't to happy about that so he went backstage and told the higher-ups afterwards and yeah that resulted in Daniel's punishment being the infamous beatdown he received at RR05.
JBL seems to be the type of guy who just waits for Vince to tell him to bully someone.
No wrestling fan will forget the fact that former professional wrestler Perry Saturn was punished on national after he went stiff on Jobber Mike Bell. Put in a nonsensical ridiculous story line where he was infatuated with a mop.
Which itself got over like crazy... It was a wild time in wrestling.
I had completely forgotten about that Cryme Time selling Litas panties thing...
I wanted to forget that.

The Carlito segment happened on Raw, Flair told him off in story because he wasn’t going to watch the Triple Threat match between HBK, Randy Orton and Edge that decided the number one contender for the Raw WWE Championship at WrestleMania.
That first 50 seconds had me dying
😂😂😂Mr. Bean! That’s a comedy character from your own country played by Rowan Atkinson!🤣🤣🤣
I have rewatched the APA wrecking Public Enemy multiple times. The best part is when Farooq uses his finisher the Dominator. NO ONE (outside of jobbers and those being punished) ever took the dominator. It lands you on the softest part of your stomach. There is no way to take it that doesn't hurt. Watch any match where it is successful and you will see Farooq's opponent writhing on the ground in agony. And the thing is Ron Simmons is so damn strong (at the time he was in his prime) he could just straight up lift people, even if they sandbagged, doesn't matter, if Farooq wants your body in the air you are going in the air. At the very end of the "match" Farooq picks up Public Enemy idiot number 1 (or was it number 2?) And hit the Dominator. That poor bastard pounded his foot against the mat in pain for the rest of the time the camera was on him. You know you're getting pushed DOWN the card when you eat a Dominator.
My room has the bed, my ez chair, my play station, my TV and some comic books. My wife puts up with all of this.
Your friend laughing at you through the window hehehehe lmao shit made ms laugh hard as hell.
Simon calling Butterbean Mr. Bean made me think of the Rowan Atkinson character having a boxing match.

Yeh. The announcers/wrestlers/interviewers do it sometimes. Why not him? lol
Also, those amazing jorts HHH wore during that interview. Cena still wears his. Obviously, jorts equal championships in WWE.

I'd like to see their live reactions instead of still shots.

No link, but it's 1hr 43mins into Raw on 21 Oct 2013. JBL gives him a hard time, but it's not as brutal as Simon makes out. You can hear Vince over the mic shout "Stay on him!" when Cody gives his first response. Goldust chips in with "If you upset the established order, there will always be chaos"

Bart wasn’t being punished, that was just stupid Russo booking
Idk, in the Dark Side of the Ring doc Butterbean said Vince wanted to punish Bart
It was both. Russo's retarded booking lead to Bart (unintentionally) burying Dr. Death. So Vince decided to take it out on Bart rather than the sniveling asshole that booked the entire thing to begin with.
