I've been doing my research on my ancestors from Scotland, the Lanyons. My great great grandfather was from there by the name of James Edward Lanyon and he left there around the year of 1872 and came to Fiji as a farmer while his family stayed back. He actually went back to when his father wrote him a letter about the land issue but then he came back to Fiji again to his 2 boys. I believe that was around 1890s. I would love to know more ❤️🙏🏼

But they have found earlier artifacts that are belived to be from 1300. With possible nights templer indications. Which intrigues me since I live in Northern KY And my relatives name is Williamson.

My Scottish family were actually Scot-Irish. The Irish spelled our name with a “y” but for whatever reason, my direct family claimed Scotland and insisted on the “ie” instead of the “y.”
