Have you ever felt stuck? Like you can’t go anywhere. You can’t make progress, you can’t go back, and you just are stuck where you are? Sometimes we need to tap into our imaginations as Jesus did. The imagination is a powerful tool-from running scared through potential hazards or leading us into a world of dreams, our imaginations can be used for good or for ill. But what does it look like to cultivate a truly Christian imagination?
Malcolm has an idea! Malcolm is an English poet, songwriter, Anglican priest, and recently retired professor from Cambridge. He is truly one of a kind-cross John Donne, Jerry Garcia, and put him on the back of a Harley while dressed like Bilbo Baggins and you have your man. In fact, his poem Refugee was requested by King Charles to be read at the Christmas Royal Carol Service.
Malcolm joins Apollos Watered to talk about how Jesus baptizes our imagination the moment we come to Him, helping us to cultivate an artistic, moral, and prophetic imagination in a world that desperately needs leaders to move beyond the status quo. It’s insightful, informative, and fun

Come drink from the fire hose! Join host Travis Michael Fleming as he explores the deep things of God from a biblically grounded, confessionally Christian, globally engaged perspective. No matter who you are, where you are from or what your situation, we believe God has something to say to you. In each episode we dive into the deep things of God as given to us in the Bible: from family and culture to religion, identity and yes, God himself especially through the person and work of Jesus Christ. Along the way we will interview Christian leaders, recommend resources to help your faith grow and share stories of the Church from all over the globe. Look out for special Cross-Culturing episodes to help you understand and love those who come from a different background than you. Apollos Watered is here to saturate your faith so you can saturate your world with the good news of Jesus.
Welcome to our CZcams channel Apollos Watered! Water is necessary for almost everything that we do. It's necessary to sustain us, to renew us, to cleanse us. It's also something that we offer to other people. That's why we offer the water of life to you that has come from the scriptures, Jesus Christ. It's a water that goes across cultures, and it transforms all of life. We would like to offer this missioholistic approach to our faith with you so that you can water your world from where you are.
The missioholistic approach is a strategy for the believer to be on mission for Jesus with the entirety of their life. It's a way for the believer to live out their faith in our chaotic post-everything world.

A beautiful interview with a true gentleman. He spoke of his adolescence, dark, empty, and filled with angst. Where he had the love of poetry to draw him back into light, sadly many of our youth today have no such interest. I had a similar experience, but not nearly as profound as his. How can we reach those lost and struggling youth? I'd love to hear Malcolm’s thoughts on that.

Should this not be called the Cambridge Movement? When the whole of the video is taken into account, it is the obverse side of the Oxford Movement in many respects. Whilst this may begin with artistic endeavour, it is grounded in theology, and the concepts can move far beyond art. Many problems are resolved.. A great show. Thank you.

For years I’ve read Malcom’s poetry and prose and never heard his testimony. Blown away! Thank you for this gem. Many will see and many will fear and put their trust in the Lord.

Incredible interview, thank you. The sign of a fantastic interviewer is sitting in attentive silence and letting the guest really unload. Superb job, sir.

Travis. I appreciated this discussion. I think some of what is missing in the American church, Malcolm sees. The limited picture we allow in the American church makes evangelism harder. Dan Griffith

God writes or paints etc. through us. When this happens it feels like being in love and making love as God works through us. And how do you know? . . .well, one can feel the verifying Spirit moving through us like a breeze and that is Truth.
