I have done this with several tutorials and find it helpful. I usually watch the whole thing thru at normal speed first and then adjust to support my learning ability. Hope this helps :)

I can do the beginners lesson really good and even was inspired to teach my self to play Hallelujah. Wellll... it's a work in progress. Lol. Since my mother's stroke ,I play for her what I know and she sang. That is good to strengthen her vocal cords and throat. Thank you for being there and giving me a purpose. Look forward to the next lesson forward Laura. Maybe you can tell me what is your next video ,after beginners? Thanks sallie

    Thank you for this useful method. I am very happy to have managed singing Clémentine while playing. For the moment only with DOWN strums. Not yet with the D DUD pattern which seems much more difficult to me, although I know it by heart. Something still escapes me.

      @@LaraMarkowitzMusic I am still confused: Have i to play : D DU D = 1 2&3, so: 1 2&3 1 2&3 1 2&3 repeatedly ? Is it right? Thank you for your help !

    Thank you so much this helps a lot! I just have one question, when I stum my ukelele it echos a bit after each strum, is there a way to fix that? love the video :)

    • @LaraMarkowitzMusic
      @LaraMarkowitzMusic  Před 3 lety +1

      I'm so glad you found this helpful! 🤗 I haven't experienced echoing so I'm not sure what to suggest for that. If it's more of a buzzing sound, you may be able to fix it by playing closer to the frets or by putting new string on your uke.

    reallly good beginner videos! However, it would be helpful if you would print the island strumming pattern on the screen and leave it there, please consider for future videos, thanks!

    When you are on the up strum are you strumming all the stings or just the bottom ones? I’m having such a horrible time trying to learn an up strum ( hitting all the strings ) thank you. Your tutorials are fabulous.

    • @LaraMarkowitzMusic
      @LaraMarkowitzMusic  Před rokem +1

      Hi Joanne, I'm glad you're enjoying the tutorials, thanks! It's ok to only catch 2 or 3 strings on the upstrum. It's definitely more challenging than the downstrum. Over time your strumming will improve and you'll catch all 4 strings more often, but try not to let it frustrate you. It will get easier and more consistent with practice 😊
