The dangers of item multiplication mods are always at the Mithrix fight. He takes your thousands of items, and then when you get them back, it gets multiplied by 1000, because you’re technically getting items. So 1000x1000 is one million, very scary for your pc.
This was something I didn't realize until it was far too late 😭
nowadays if your later enough in a run you can instakill mythrix on phase 2 and he wont take your items so
The way to skip phase 4 is to put a damaging hitbox like kjaro's band in the center of the arena
Yep, the key is to deal damage on the very first frame of phase 4, which is why fire band does so well because it deal damage every frame@@relzyn5545
You’ll also just instantly die if you pick up shattered glass
I just realized that he died not because of mithrix hitting him, but because of the shurikens from mithrix, which was targeting a drone. This drone then got nuked and wiped the whole map because of will o wisp, which is pretty funny because you had no reason to get drones other than for company, which killed you.

In my mind, crashing Risk Of Rain 2 is just as good as a win, if not better, considering how hard it actually is to crash. I play on console, and no matter what I've done, I still haven't managed to crash it

This games frame rates on console drop really fucking bad all the damn time to the point of it being unplayable. I’d rather it just crashed

Try getting a few clovers and some perfurators as commando
Imagine a 1000 stack of old pre-nerf sticky bombs (they used to increase chance AND damage per stack, so QUADRATIC value until you reached 100% proc chance and after that you just got a lot of damage)
technically not exponential, just quadratic
shurikens are like that now but it's less broken since they're green so you usually can't print too many

You know what's crazy is that's almost as much damage as I did in a 100 stage run on acrid I made it a little over 5 quadrillion (this was before the void dlc).
You should totally do that again but have the doppelgänger artifact on. He’ll be the only one who has a chance to defeat you. 😂

The answer is probably yes. Just pick up like 1 syringe/watch/crowbar and nothing else. obviously take advantage of the fact that active items aren't multiplied and pick one up. Maybe if you find a fuel cell pick 1 up. obviously never pick up movement items. never pick up more than 1 of each item you pick up.
this challenge would be a lot of fun to watch if the multiplier was 10x instead of 1000x
Haha it wasn't meant to really be a challenge, more of just a fun video, x10 would still be too easy to consider it a challenge anyway so why not go crazy with it
5:14 For those who are wondering, Opals stack linearly, and the damage reduction formula (after 7 seconds of not taking damage) is obtained by
# Opals / (# Opals + 1)
1 Opal gives 50% damage reduction, 2 gives 2/3, 3 gives 3/4, etc. 1000 would give 99.901% damage reduction (rounded up) on the first hit (which would matter if he didn't have teddies).
And for those who are also wondering, 1000 teddies gives 99.3% chance to not take damage, which is effectively 99.3% damage reduction, or a 14,286% health multiplier.
(All numbers obtained from the wiki; all calculations derived from Desmos)

Maybe it is also important to know that teddy triggers first, so lets say first 99 attacks would be just flat out blocked. 100th one would trigger opal, so you would take 0.1% of the damage. Afterwards attackers would need to go behind teddy blocks to hit you in 7 seconds otherwise you would get your opal back.
another thing is that there is something like a max health. If your health is beyond max health, your health would go to negatives (technical term for that is an overflow, in this case integer overflow). After getting back the items you get 1000 items back one by one, so they will also be multiplied. So in the end it was the reason for the death.

That just shows the devs anticipated it i believe. If they didn't the numbers would just go out of the health bar and it would look like ass
and the letters are just a fancier form of scientific notation, to the 1.01E+07 is 1.01 but multiplied by 10000000 (i think)
It's 1.01 multiplied by 10 to the power of 7, (10,000,000), which equals 10,100,000.

You honestly might’ve died from stacking health to the point it became negative.

If you look closely, you can see mithrix hitting and killing one of the drones. This caused an explosion killing all the other drones which also exploded. Those explosions triggered other item effects mithrix had. Your hp doesn't matter when there are thousands of items that exponentially boost damage

Focus crystal gets bigger with each pickup, so you could technically get focus crystals on ranged characters and receive the bonus since the circle seems to be the size of most maps.

How did you configure the mod? I couldn’t find anything in the mod options.
You have to launch the game once so it creates a config file, then in r2modman you have to "edit config" I have a tutorial on how in my "helpful tips" playlist!

i feel like slicing winds is a straight upgrade over eviscerate here, since you cant really benefit from the i-frames.
Slicing winds is actually generally considered an upgrade in all runs but I just find eviscerate way more fun so I choose it every time
thats cool and all, but i am pretty sure the game has a hard limit for stacks, such as never being able to go lower than 0.5 seconds of cooldown time and such
It does, but only for things like cooldowns, most stuff stacks pretty crazy
Surprised you aren't using BetterUI, as that actually shows how items stack in the logbook and if you hover over them with your mouse in the tab menu.
I really should, although I'm on controller so it's a little harder to scroll over it while playing haha

I think I used 4 or 5 with no aim assist but I've recently made the transition to kbm, I think my skill has finally leveled out so now it'll only get better!
I wish I had a pc the game seems much easier to aim with kbm
And yeah aim assist is weird in ror2 it just slows down my camera too much

How do you change the amount of items multiplied with the mod?
So once you have the mod, you have to run the game once with the mod on, then close it. After that you should be able to edit the config file within r2modman and change the number to anything you'd like!
