You are not obliged to tell us anything that you don't want to but I appreciate your honesty. Anyone who keeps animals knows that death happens. Sometimes in ways you least expect. Anyone who is interested in keeping animals in the future, needs to know this stuff. It's rough sometimes but we can all see, you're doing your best.
I'm sorry you're going through these losses, but it is helpful that you share them. Sometimes we only see the sunny awesome side of others farming and feel like failures ourselves. As bad as it sucks, it's so helpful to know we aren't alone in our losses.

@MulberryBranchFarm everything is OK for now. Scott has only a few treatments left and then it's a wait and see game. Keytruda is used off label for his type of cancer so we don't know if it's a cure or just prolonging.
So sorry for your loss. You're right livestock also means dead stock I too had a goat hang herself horrible to find I'm so sorry you had to experience that...💔
Wow so sorry your going through this and your baby. Its always something I feel so bad for you!! Im praying for you and your baby!! Im extremely thankful that you do these videos because now that I have my own herd of does now it keeps me in the heads up on the different illnesses I see hit your farm and it keeps me alerted for sure!! It also reminds me there is a channel called “Zion Creek Farm” and he just battled that in his herd last week too( our time not December)….how crazy!! Praying for you!! Take care, God Bless
It's been so weird... I almost NEVER saw listeriosis outbreaks before this year. I had 5-6 farms reach out because of my facebook posts saying they were seeing an uptick in Listeriosis too! I don't know if it's weather related with warm and wet winters or if there's something going on in the feed bags from the store. The conspiracy theorist in me says its the bagged feed but I only had 2 out of 30 show symptoms and succumb.
@@MulberryBranchFarm I wont shout out my feelings in that area but dont take your eyes off the ball when it comes to your thoughts on the “feed bags” because God has spoken many things in the past few years that he will soon reveal out in the open as he has been doing concerning “MANY” different situations and this is no different!! Many farms have been under attack for different reasons and the enemies of God doesn’t see fit to the lifestyles of the way God intends his people to live so they are “under attack”!!! God has you protected “No Weapons Formed Against You And Your Farm Shall Prosper”!!! Declare Psalms 91 over your life, your family, your finances and your farm and watch God move on your behalf!! Keep looking up there are better days coming ahead of you the trickle of the blessing has already started and its about to “rain”!!!😊 I am definitely sending prayers your way!! Ugh, the worst. Lost one and saved one a couple years ago. It all happened after i fed chaffhaye. I'm too scared to use it again. I hope you find the culprit.
Is listeria contagious? Listeria bacteria is spread by contaminated food and water. It is not contagious from person to person, or animal to person however extra caution should always be taken among those who are infected.
Yes I'm very aware that it is a zoonotic but usually you cannot contract it unless handling the manure (she hadn't had a BM in days and no fecal matter was present) or her saliva which we were mindful of and even though you can't see it there's a bottle of hand sanitizer on the ground next to the stall that was used everytime we were done touching her as well as boots that were only used in her stall and sanitized in bleach afterwards to cut down on the spread. We talk about this in the next video...

I gave the hubs a list of listeria symptoms and told him if I start showing these or say I'm feeling a certain way you're to take me to the hospital immediately. I don't expect anyone to understand the stress of this situation unless you've lived it and I wasn't worried about me or my mannerisms... i was worried about her. Fighting Coccidia, polio, meningeal are childs play compared to this. Over 10 years raising goats... and this one was the worst.
Yes it has to be the worst, you are the second person to lose a goat to listeria on CZcams. But I give both of you thanks for the education on this bacterial infection. I just never knew how deadly it was. Thank you again
I love how honest you are. I just lost my first goat. I tried everything. Once the seizures started he just went down fast.

Well I had a goat hang herself in a weaved hay feeder she was my only horned goat and my fav. It sucks sometimes. Sending prayers

Should you put some kind of eye patch on the bad eye. That way it the eye can’t get a scratch on it

Oh had coccidia that I lost one baby but saved the other three
Never lost one to coccidia (knocking on wood). Our preventative program has worked well for us so far.
I now have preventative measures. It was my first year. Scary for me
