The issue with that is Nuceria was going under Imperial Compliance without bloodshed. If Big E sided with Angron, he would open up Nuceria as an active front in the Great Crusade and would need serious pacification. That would be a diplomatic disaster, especially if the goal is to try and persuade Human planets to join on their own.

While I think some people have the idea that Angron’s voice should be low and rumbling, there’s one detail that Jonathan Keeble mentions in this passage (2:05) that I think he capitalizes on: Angron is so heavily scarred he has no lips. Not being able to physically hold the spit in your mouth explains Keeble’s gurgling, off-kilter vocalization. Not to mention how Angron’s constant battle cries and screams has probably run his voice hoarse. It’s shockingly humanizing, showing how unending battle has affected Angron to such an extent that even his voice is not unscathed. Keeble really outdoes himself with every primarch.

it's quite amazing to know what Angron was meant to be and how he actually turned out. you can say this about nearly any of the primarchs who had legit grievances and reasons for turning traitor but, in my opinion at least, none were as robbed as Angron.

@@thescarletpumpernel3305 angron literally was going to be the empath and healer of the primarchs. Likely just as if not more kind than vulkan. It he wasn’t afflicted with a device that was slowly degrading his incompatible mind, which amplified his rage and made him endure unbearable suffering for every moment he wasn’t enraged, he might’ve ended up even being the only non-racist human being in warhammer 40k. I know he did some horrible things but he had it worse than “a tragic upbringing”. Those can be gotten over and worked through, his past was quite literally nailed into his brain at all times. And in those couple moments when his butcher’s nails were removed, he gained clarity and clearly showed the real him was not the butcher. As for perturabo, it’s harder to make a case for him I will admit. But hear me out, this mother fucker was the only one who could even come close much less match rogal in siege warfare. He did more than his fair share of work for the imperium, but no one ever gave the man credit. Basically everyone hated him with few acceptions, he was always treated like an outcast and yes he may have been fairly brutal but he could’ve learned so much if someone sat down and had a talk with him rather than blindly berating him. Imagine what would’ve happened if rogal, rather than basically telling him to fuck off and challenging him, told him he needed an equal to help him build his dream fortress. That shit would be unbreakable, perty probably would’ve stayed loyal now that he’d been shown appreciation, and if he did the traitors would’ve gotten absolutely fucking nowhere. He hard carried the heresy, making all the strategic plans, he was the only reason Horus ever touched terra much less it’s solar system. And even still he got no credit. Fulgrim tried to fucking kill him and literally wounded his soul. Horus hardly ever gave him orders in person and usually sent henchmen to do so. But he still kept it going. And when they got to terra, he proved that he really did not give a fuck about chaos. He cracked that fortress then said “see ya bitches” and left the traitors to get fucked. He is (I believe) the only traitor primarch left who has not become a demon prince. He betrayed the imperium for much better reasons than almost any of the other traitors, and didn’t really care about chaos. He wasn’t straight up evil about it, he was just sick of the emperor and his brother’s bullshit. Hell, he hasn’t even really shown up to fuck over the loyalists much for a long time now. If you can’t personally except that they were some of the greatest primarchs, then I ask you at least give them credit as the best traitor primarchs.

Instead of shafting him because angron refused his offer to lead a legion, choosing instead to die with his slave brethren, he could have sent one single squad to custodes or even some of his own astartes to help him and his army. That one thing would have cemented angrons respect for the emperor but he chose one planet's subserviency to the imperium over one of his sons. If anything the emperor should have been proud that angron had thr strength of will to refuse him, despite the butchers nails fucking up his mind, but he got pissed off instead and thought 'I'll make an example out of you, boy' and pretty much kidnapped him, forcing him to know his slave army would be killed. Can I imagine having these emotions, abilities and this purpose written into you on a genetic level and have your brain carved up ( he literally is missing parts of his brain) and having a machine beaten into your head that spikes pain into your nervous system unless you hurt and kill constantly. These actions basically being the complete bane of your genetic coding. It would be like having your mind and soul torn apart every waking second of your life. Angron was a person whose entire life had been dictated by the wishes of others. That day on Desh'elika Ridge was the first time he had been given a choice. A true choice free of anyone else's influence. And he chose a final last stand against oppression. Whatever methods he had chosen, in saving Angron the Emperor would have taken that choice away from him. Angron is by FAR my favorite primarch. Most people who think of him don’t know how unbelievably strong he actually is. He is not the embodiment of control of martial prowess, he is a behemoth of rage incarnate. The greatest of the daemon princes. The strongest bloodthirster. Lifting wise he able to hold up a titan while his broken cracked under its weight. Millions of pounds of pressure. He is quite literally the strongest of the primarchs. The only reason he is held back is because he has no need to block attacks only kill maim and murder, no fear, no regret, absolutely ZERO mercy. His fucks given are literally negative infinity.

That voice must have been absolute *murder* on you, good god.
It fits, in a way. Everything about Angron is broken: everything is tragedy. The one who would likely have been the kindest among the Primarchs, who might have filled a role none of the rest of them could, reduced in all ways to a shell of what he could have been. A completely broken voice is just one more piece of it.
As to Nuceria? Even in all that tragedy, there is a certain satisfaction to actions having *consequences* .

This mfer is supposed to sound like a cross between A MF ROCKSLIDE, AND AN URSINE ROAR. I love most of ADBs work, and I know it's not his fault because they run voices past people in gw who give them the greenlight, but i don't have the words to express how much I hate his Angron voice.
