points that should be covered - the effect of the same TQ setting on a different thread ( M10 x 1.0 V 1/2 unf 20 ) / countersinking the block thread and shouldering the stud thread into the block and thus its effect on axial rigidity / making the dowty seal ( the bonded washer ) or the O ring land on the stud shank and not the thread/ the use of the ARP thick washer .. to allow a concave on underside for the O ring guys . and to allow for thermal expansion when the block is hot
Please discuss Dowling. In the past I used Dowling tubes on all bolts to take the pressure loads off the bolts , I would do this on 14-21 psi or pp s but the space race has moved on as has new parts now available
you mention boost limit on rx8 engines is 7 pounds, trying to understand what fails, have you mentioned this before and if so please point me in the right direction
Hey Kyle, I had a semi p 13b rew with rx8 rotors built by chip a bit ago. Nelson told me you had something similar a long time ago. My question is what coolant temperatures should I be running the car at? What is normal operating temperature, and is 205°f the max? Thanks!
Other than machining, any real downside to oversized studs for a high revving NA motor? I know there's lots of examples of stuff that worked without but having a bit more reliable lifespan is nice.
I appreciate all the information you're giving please don't stop doing this. I'm learning a lot as I am also working on my RX-8.

Interesting for my 6 port Turbo
Excellent info as usual. Would be great to see your take on finding tdc top dead center. Bunch of misinformation floating around.

Just got my stud kits in last week.

I should also add, I’m running a dual pass radiator with dual spal fans, meziere 55gpm water pump and the engine is turbocharged on e85
