    I'm not convinced the cooldown was actually any different. The JBC only displays 5 degree steps, whereas the T3B shows single degree steps. The T3B drops below 25 degrees at the same time the JBC transitions to below 25 degrees. And I can't think of any reason why cooldown time would really be any different. Unless one handle was more exposed to air flow from an air conditioner or fume extractor?

    I wonder nobody(all the videos I saw of this station) mentions that there are literaly only 3 versions of the knockoff tips (t210) for that station.. I searched on Ali and I always only find the same 3. So if you concider bying this station get ready paying for the actual JBC tips

    • @euphoricmonk
      @euphoricmonk Před 2 lety +1

      Yup came to the same conclusion. Only 3 tips for the t210, it's crazy they don't have a simple chisel tip. Might go for the t245 or t12 just to have more variety.

      @@euphoricmonk Yea I am kinda shocked there isn't more variety for the 210 tips. I recently got the aifen a9 (which seems to be identical to the sugon a9) along with a 115 and 245 handle and a 3 pack of tips for each for only like $125 on ali.
      I am no electrical engineer, but overall seems solid. Everything heats up quickly, peaks at like 160w with the 245 handle, temps seem reasonably accurate. Pretty sure it takes genuine JBC handles, although I have none to try. Not that I plan on buying genuine handles, but I figure probably better for compatibility when it comes to knockoffs. For whatever reason there were no in-depth reviews for the thing, or at least not in english. So was a bit of a gamble, but seems like a possible contender for best value JBC clone, imo. Granted I haven't used it much yet, only done some basic testing, and I am by no means an expert.

      I only use genuine JBC tips on my T3A. I also purchased the T12 handle and used genuine T12 tip on it. The heat up time is significantly faster on T3A than Hakko FM-202 (6 sec vs. 20+ sec).

    sorry , but this is complete nonsense , the iron doesn't heat up faster than the JBC , its just has such poor thermocouple temp sensing that the numbers on the front TELL you its hotter than it is thats why it takes a lot longer on cool down . Yes i have temperature tested this against my own JBC with proper tip temp meter . I decided to put it to the test with my JBC over a 6mth period at my daily work station which runs on average 10 hours a day and , the Axium only lasted 4mth before it started playing up . The WORST thing about this is the god awful iron stand , my JBC one weighs a TON to stop it moving around / falling over , the Axium one , is totally the opposite , its not worth the money , there are only 3 tips made by Axium which are shite and if you want decent ones , you will need to buy JBC ones . My advice as a professional tech is to pay for the JBC , or end up paying more than that when you keep replacing this junk. If you are just a hobbyist , that rarely uses an iron , you can find something wayyy cheaper than this that will fulfil your needs , don`t waste money on this thing . Yes my complete JBC setup cost me well over £1000 , I have both the iron and the de-soldering gun setups , but , I`ve so far had it 12 years , and never had to do a thing with it . You will NOT have this thing in 12 months let alone 12 years if you use it daily for hours , if you are a profession and you are looking at this to save a few quid , forget it .

      Hi David, thanks for your reply. Our testing has shown the results above, interesting that you got different results. Obviously we can't show long term use in a short video of a brand new product, but think this is really interesting and something we will look into more. Our in-house technician swears by the Aixun and has never had an issue with it, but everyone is going to have different opinions and different products to suit their needs. This is a new Aixun station that has only been out since December, so won't have been the one you used before, but i'd definitely be interested to know about more long-term testing methods.

    Stay away from these soldering stations, you have to buy separate stations for different handles. Just buy the JBC they are more expensive but you have to use their tips anyway. If you have to buy make sure to buy the T245 station there are much more choice of tips. Do not buy the C210.

    • @DciMaluko
      @DciMaluko Před 2 lety

      Some jobs just require smaller tips that the 245 doesn`t have. Iphone 7, for instance, if you were to do the classic audio codec 4 jumpers, I bet you would really want to do it with the c210 tips. If you have to do it 10 times a day, the smaller tips save you sooo much time, and being microsoldering specialists, time is not something you can waste. Iphone repairs are really common here since the dollar is too expensive, people don't earn enough as it is, this pandemic just made this even more true, so they have old iphones and repair them repeatedly. Also, the price... JBC is 4 times more expensive in my country than the T3B, so, I can equip my entire lab with these before I'm able to buy a single JBC.
