This is how every Indian road should be, not just Delhi-Mumbai expressway. Segregation of traffic and cows , cats and dogs is absolutely essential in order to make roads safe and efficient.

No one is following lane discipline those lines are not for painting or show. One don't even have to be literate to know that you have to drive in between those lines not on them 🤦🏻♂️

Excellent road has been constructed, but while covering long distance it is very difficult to achieve average speed higher than 70 kmph
The most boring landscape is between Gujarat to Delhi... we did this on motorcycles in 2018 in June and it was a pain. But as soon as we crossed Delhi... it was fun!

Most of the western countries have average speed cameras on major freeways , which calculate the time taken from one camera to the next one. If someone drive fast they will reach the next point in less time and will receive a speeding fine.
It happens in India too. Here in Kerala AI cameras will take a photo and issue a challan to your address with the photo.

I often wonder why they don't enforce that toll rule to prevent speeding in the US, on highways where it would work (like NJ or PA Turnpikes), and the answer is that people would rebel. Also, a question: in 2012-2016 I traveled NH-48 (I thought it was 8 but map now says 48) Jaipur/Delhi and it was 5-6 hours so what is the benefit of the new route if you're only going to Jaipur. 6 hours regardless.

Why it is 8 lane though traffic is too low?
What's the benefit if travel to Jaipur from Delhi still takes 6 hours. Even in the 90s it took 5-1/2 hours when most part of the road was 2 lane. There was good service to Jaipur by RTDC from Bikaner house. Since then road has improved, vehicle quality has improved but not the time!
If you go by car, permissible speed is 120 kmph...ab 80 pe chalaoge to usme expressway ki kya galti h
