*please note - I used CARBON CLEANSE to strip the old grime and rust off of the cast iron. I should have used Carbon Method's RECONDITIONING OIL which is what they recommend instead of wd40.

As a fellow Florida man, I’m intrigued. I didn’t use my tools for two years and went to use them last weekend and was surprised how much rust had crept in on the flat surfaces.
Keep them covered with cardboard and this won't happen as fast.

Wow, I'm impressed! It's amazing how slick the surface is after application. Had to laugh though because I can picture you out there playing air hockey on your saw all day now!
Took your advice and placed an order. I was amazed at how much trash the cleaner pulled out of the cast iron of my table saw. Did 4 coats on the table saw and the new bandsaw. The surfaces are slicker than owl shit!

Very interesting, now you know karate. I usually put wax on my top, it works well for the years i been doing it. I think that i will be checking out the carbon method

Interesting video! I’m in KS so humidity isn’t a big problem but I still have to maintain my saw surface. I’ve been using a silicone lubricant by blaster and it seems to work well. Got the idea from a HS shop teacher. I’ve never heard anyone talk of using this before. Is there anything wrong with using these lubricants?

anybody ever try ceramic coatings for auto on the table saw top? Just wondering if it would work decently well also... and since I already have some! Might try this myself. This video got me wondering.....

How long is the protection supposed to last
Using the carbon glide spray every month. This will last you about a year or so.
Place a sheet of cardboard on your table saw, jointer, planner when not in use. It works great and I’m in Palm Coast, Fl. The cardboard will pull the moisture.

@@AGlimpseInside I prefer a sheet of cardboard from a major appliance, fridge, TV, dryer. Also it seconds as a glue up area.
