She deserved so much better, even though she got to leave and have a life of her own, I don’t think anyone ever really appreciated her or showed they loved her, even her siblings
Other than Ian, they were all so casual about her; they acted like she was truly responsible for anything bad that happened to them when she didn't have to raise them at all, they should have been more grateful.
Her last season was so heartbreaking, after all the work she did, the writers made her exactly like Frank. No matter how much she fucked up, she NEVER would've followed Frank's example on anything. That's a hill I will die on.
she did do drugs and drink, but not all the time. the part where she almost killed her baby brother is she left her "powder" out when she was partying at home with Veronica and he got into it, and overdosed.
And they were all partying that night. I always felt Lip was kind of a shit for the way he treated her. It's not like he hadn't royally screwed up before.
Really glad you’re liking the Shameless videos, I was the same about Shameless at first but my friend insisted and from the first episode I was hooked. Really loving the reactions!
She wasn't perfect but she did it all for them until there was nothing left to give, everyone acts like this was "her job" but it wasn't, she did drugs and alcohol and had her mistakes but she did it all since she was 6 years old, she had no choice
She needed to hit rock bottom cause she was drinking ALOT in s9 and she basically was danger to kids in the house especially cause Lip was taking care of some girl that her parents left and was about to adopt her but Fiona ruined it and Lip also went through the whole alcoholic thing so he knew that her hitting rock bottom is the only way to save her
I think Fiona is amazing, yes she made some mistakes but she herself is only like 3 years or so older than Lip. He always gives her such a hard time for making mistakes even though he himself was oftentimes egocentric. I'm glad she got out to live her life, finally making it about herself. She couldn't do that ther because even though the others did get older she was the mom figure and they saw her as that as well so she was always the one that got asked to help
Honestly my feelings towards Fiona are very conflicted. She did amazing raising her 5 siblings, has fought through so much and is incredibly strong. However, some of the ways she treated other characters and her actions (particularly in seasons 4 & 9) really bugged me. It's a shame because i'll always love how Fiona cares for her siblings but her sudden switch in s7 to 'you guys can look after yourselves' without any warning, threatening to kick out Debbie (a 15 year old single mother) out for not getting over $300 on short notice, and what she did with the coke in s4 really shadow over a lot of her good actions. I understand why she did a lot of the worse actions and that she certainly isn't the only character to make disastrous mistakes but there's too many for me to just simply discard like a lot of other people seem to do with fiona
The show perfectly demonstrates how imperfect people are. No one can be good all the time, no one can be bad all the time, in fact... all of us are the grayest of all the grayest characters. Fiona obviously did her best from the upbringing and environment she grew up in, no one can deny that. But drugs change people a LOT. Been there, seen it, felt it. But as an adult, it was purely her choice to fall into that black hole. Very sad indeed.
@@owl.drinks.tequila I completely agree. Every character from Shameless is far from perfect and has made many mistakes, just like real life. It’s tragic the route Fiona went down (although even in some of her high points she made many decisions I didn’t agree with that just bug me too much to truly like her, even though I will forever be inspired by her strength and amazed by how she handled everything) and I’m glad she got a somewhat happy ending
She wasn't their mother, she did all she could, why wasn't she allowed to leave? It wasn't abruptly she told them a lot of times that she was tired and that she wanted to live her own life

I’m really happy about Fiona’s ending because she got something she wanted and finally managed to leave the South Side and made a choice for herself for once. I was saying there’s other things she’s done that I don’t agree with but her leaving certainly isn’t one of those things
i love shameless so much it’s just so realistic and reminds me of my family in so many ways 😅 we literally have a frank like dad a monica like mother we have a fiona a lip a carl a ian a debbie all of us 😭 it’s like they really understand. some may say that they wouldn’t want this life but if i could do it again i’d pick this family every time
there are a bunch of other vids with her with basically the same title that are so much better and give more context and i feel like you need to react to more of her character bc it's so amazing

Fiona as a character deserved so, so much better than the send off written in S9. We all fall, downward spirals happen. But to leave her like that was unacceptable.
She needed to hit rock bottom when she lost her building, Ford ended being married with a kid, she's drinking morning noon and night and is just causing arguments
