  • Sergio Perez was one of the driver's of the 2020 F1 season. At one point, it was looking unlikely that he'd be on the grid for next year and possibly for good. But a 9-race streak from Mugello to Abu Dhabi was enough to convince Red Bull that he was the man they needed for 2021. Here's how he did it.

      Albon and Gasly just could not produce when asked for whatever reason. Pressure, car setup, etc. I think Perez can deliver that and he definitely has to know he's walking into a #2 seat but a #2 seat in the second best team is better than a couch.

When even the most basic fundermental laws of our reality can be understood in such a manner why would anything else be any different? Sure some stuff is more complicated for us to understand (like the human brain) but nothing is suspended above or separate from those same basic laws. As the physicist Paul Dirac once put it "If there is a god, he's a great mathematician" and I for one believe he was completely right in this assessment.

      @Hector RodriguezI will definitely look more into the subjects you have mentioned as I have a causal interest in learning about such things however I would like to note that knowing the math and the math not existing is two very different things. If you view our reality through the lens of materialism it becomes very hard to argue against the idea that maths is capable of explaining everything about about our universe if you had a supercomputer for example aware and capable of analysing all relevant values.
      In theory you could go so far to say that mathematically you could even predict a person's behaviour in any given situation if all variables were properly accounted for (genetics, memories etc). I would be interested in your take on this given your profession.

    Great Video. You are about the only channel that covered Checo fairly. I'm 50 years old and have been to over 80 GP in my life. Checo is one of the most underrated drivers I have ever seen. The media has a huge role in him getting that RB seat. When you hear the announcers pushing the cause, it raises eyebrows.
    He's in a tough position at RB but do not be surprised one bit, if he gives max an honest run. He is a literal god with the rear of the car. This is going to be a major advantage in a high rake ride.

      Well, the 2020 RP was a pretty decent car. Last year's Merc, basically. He clicked with it nicely the later part of the year, and destroyed Stroll along the way:
      He got sidelined with Covid, got unlucky more than once with poor strategic calls, got punted by Max at Portimao which forced him to do another great recovery from the back, and had two engines blow up. Those incidents kept him from hounding Max for 3rd but he would have been much closer.

  • @noconsent

    Red Bull has made a lot of good decisions to get Max 2 Driver's Championships and their first Constructor's since 2013. Ranking them, signing Checo is in the top three, and might actually be number one. The team went from having a "cursed" second seat to having consistent points, assisting in getting Max championships with expert attacking and defending on LeClerc and Hamilton respectively.

    I think Checo will do very well at RB and I would go as far as thinking that Max might not be able to dominate him as he has his previous team mates, Max still makes silly mistakes and is not as stable as Checo, this could be crucial when they go wheel to wheel and Checo will be doing that as soon as he can to pressurize Max, we have not seen Max under that kind of pressure and I don't think he will cope, my money is on the Mexican

    • @BMPHF1
      @BMPHF1  Před 3 lety

      Going bold my friend. I like it. Max hasn’t been challenged as you say for a while and at times has shown signs of cracking under pressure. He’s still relentlessly quick and is slowly honing that aggression to a more controlled state but still has ways to go. Checo’s level headedness will prevail at times against Max, just depends how often.

    Edit: Well you said that so nevermind me

    • @BMPHF1
      @BMPHF1  Před 3 lety

      Haha, no worries. Red Bull will wait and see how Checo does alongside Max before deciding who will drive for them in 2022. Thing is though, the move was also aimed more at keeping Max as his patience won’t last forever. He’s capable of winning championships in the right car at this moment in time and he will do what’s best for him if that means departing from Red Bull. Although having said that, George Russell is in line for Mercedes and Ferrari look fully booked. 2022 will be very interesting indeed.

    You said it well. Red Bull will have a competent duo for the first time since the departure of Ricciardo. Checo will deliver massive points and the austrian team will have lots of info from the car, what Albon or Gasly simply couldn't provide due to their youthness.
    Also Checo won't be frightened by the pressure on a big team, 'cause he faced this situation years ago when he drove alongside Button for McLaren.
    I expect him to achieve something around 200 points, like Ricciardo did on his last years with Red Bull.
