i think the theme of her being a bunny fits with the imagery of the graveyard/labcoats ie she was used as a test subject. when she was risen from the dead she became more than could be controlled and took over the company (judging by the fact she cries the 'boss' was probably a parent or significant other). up until that point she is the only one dancing in the music video, but after she conquers the company everyone else around her is dancing to her tune. so i think she was an experiment who came back to life after a possible suicide (ie jumping from a highplace) who then came back to life, got her revenge, and molded the organization to her liking.

I can't even pretend to understand much of anything about the story of Underfity as a whole, yet I just can't get enough of it. I love gradually receiving bits and pieces of new information and background, and slowly coming to better understand the setting and character relations.
Kawa has definitely always struck me as perhaps the most unusual among all of the recurring characters, so I'm glad to have this segment dedicated to her background. Also, I think this is the first time we've seen Kawa without the hat/hood.
Anyways, both impressive and intriguing work as always! So glad this series exists, and am very much looking forward to whatever might come next!

it feels like one of those video games where you slowly get bits of the story. Honestly i love the style of story telling. it makes it feel like a mystery
Admittedly, I imagine a lot of it is made up as they go.
전체적으로 이해하기 힘들지만 정리해보고 싶어서 대충대충 써봄
영상 초반(0:28) 부근의 카와는 토끼 귀도 없고 무덤에서 나와 춤을 추는 모습임.
뒷배경은 슈를 상징하는 온갖 약과 주사들이 박혀있고 떨어져 있음. 그 무덤에서 깨어났단 건..... 슈와 연관성이 없지않아 있어보이는 포인트.
그러다 45초쯤에서 돌에 깔리지만 카와는 그 돌조차 부숴 언더피티로 가져감.
그리고 공연장 무대같은 곳에 서 있는 카와가 나옴. 카와의 앞에는 수많은 토끼가면들이 있음.(0:55)
그 후 카와의 여러 얼굴들이 박자에 맞춰 나오는데, 여기서 토끼 가면을 쓴 카와도 있고 아닌 카와도 있음.(1:01)
그런데 자세히 보면 토끼가면을 쓰거나 토끼 귀를 달고있는 카와는 얼굴이 가려져있거나, 만화적으로 과장되어 있음.
하지만 가면과 귀가 없는 카와는 눈과 이가 빠지거나 혀밖에 나와있지 않는 모습임. 돈에 눈이 멀어있기도 하고, 깨져가는 해골이기도 하고, 옛날 애니메이션처럼 산발 머리카락에 희번득하게 뜬 눈에 공포스러운 표정으로 우리를 바라보기도 하고.
토끼 가면을 쓴 카와는 카와의 겉모습이고, 가면이 없고 귀가 없는 모습이 카와의 본모습이라는 것을 알 수 있음.
1:14부터는 수많은 토끼가면들이 밧줄에 묶여 카와를 지나가고, 그 중심에는 보스 자리가 있음.
여기서 토끼가면들의 정체가 굉장히 추측하기 어려운데........ 위의 토끼가면 해석을 저 사람들에 대입하자면 자신의 본모습을 숨기고 무언가를 위해 행동하는 사람?정도로만 생각할 수 있을 듯.
1:27초 장면에는 슬픈 표정으로 토끼 기계를 작동시키고, 기계에서는 토끼 귀가 나옴.
1:55에서 우는 표정을 토끼 귀로 닦고 춤을 추는 카와의 머리에는 돈이 달린 물체가 솟아있음. 그 주위에서는 토끼들이 카와를 중심으로 돌고 있고.
2:04, 이전까지 미국풍 점눈이었던 카와의 눈이 확연하게 바뀌고 무언가를 빤히 쳐다보는 카와가 나옴.
쳐다보는 대상은 아까의 춤을추던 카와와 가면을 쓴 카와(들)임.
그 후 3:08에서 카와조차도 밧줄에 묶여 위쪽으로 올라가고 카와가 있던 자리에는 지폐가 남음.
얼굴들이 나오는 장면에서 돈에 눈먼 카와가 있었던 걸 보면, 밧줄에 묶여 끌려가는 사람은 돈 때문에 자신을 버리거나 그 외의 무언가에 자신을 바친 사람같이 보임. 카와가 지폐만 흘리고 가는 걸 보면 더 그렇고.
수많은 토끼가면들이 쳐다보는 앞에서 자신도 그렇게 되기를 결심하고 눈물을 흘리는 카와와, 분노에 찬듯한 표정으로 그 모습을 바라보는 후반부의 카와가 확실히 대조되어서 카와가 후회하고 있다는 걸 유추해 볼 수도 있을 것 같음.
멋진 애니메이팅, 독창적인 스토리, 쩔어버리는 색감. 람다람님 사랑해요.

게임오버 영상 다시 보고왔는데, 카와가 다람이가 갇힌 곳의 문을 열어주고 다람이가 슈를 찾아갈 수 있게 해주는듯한 행동을 한다. 다람이는 슈와 적대적인 관계여서 그렇겠거니 하는데, 다람이가 슈가 타임머신 앞에서 마주본 그 자리에는 카와가 없었다.
카와도 슈와 적대적인 관계거나 슈를 두려워한다고 유추해볼수도 있겠다.

카와 설명을 다시 보고 오니 '돈이 많다, 말이 없다' 요정도 내용이 있어 이를 바탕으로 해석해봤습니다.

From what I'm gathering is that Kawa was an experiment that ended up being too successful.
She comes back from the dead with extreme power that was not quite foreseen. Then someone that was part of the group that revived her saw the problem and killed "the boss" whoever that may be and Kawa sees this and is sad (crying even). She then uses the machine to take whatever essence or soul of "the boss" and form it into the white rabbit hood. The rabbit hood then tells her what happened and she kills the person/people responsible for the death of the boss (bodies swinging above the desk) and takes up the head of the group.
Part of Kawas description is that she likes to be in high places but people may misunderstood that for physical height and not the height of social status that is probably more from the bosses spirit In the bunny hood.
It appears the boss is her dad from the thumbnail.

i guess that explains her tongue always being out, probably a side effect of the resurrrction and it being scientific. with everything green, it's very zombie-ish, which makes me curious how much of the original her is still in there.
Okay, so here's an attempt at making sense of any of this.
Apparently, Kawa is raised from the dead in the start. There's a chance it's more symbolic than literal, but for now I'll take it as literal. It wouldn't be outside the realm of possibility in this setting anyway.
We see, however, the graveyard riddled with syringes and pills. The pills are definitely part of Sue's theme but I think she might have been connected with syringes as well, though I can't recall an example right now and could be wrong. So, it's possible that Sue had something to do with this (or if she's involved with some kind of organisation, it could be them). Maybe somehow her mad science brought Kawa back to life, for what reason I don't know.
She then goes back to Underfity and her organisation/company where we see the creepy cult-like bunny mask dudes. At first I thought they were your typical shady organisation employees/henchmen, but then I realised they seem to be wearing labcoats. So, it's likely they're involved with (mad) science themselves. It's possible they were the ones who resurrected Kawa. And it's possible further still that Sue and/or the facility in which Daram was trapped in in H.A.Y. are associated with them.
Side note at 1:11, we see Kawa climb to a high place like her character introduction said she likes to do.
I'm not sure what the hanging/swinging bunny guys are supposed to be, there are too many possible interpretations. But hanging/swinging is a big theme of the video, so I'm sure it's important.
Through those guys we zoom in on an empty seat with the BOSS label on it, Kawa presumably reaching it. Right after, when we see Kawa she has a tear on her eye. Most likely, the person who was supposed to be on that seat, the Boss, was someone close to her. Based on her being rich and what follows, I'm inclined to think it was her dad or mom or otherwise someone related to her that she'd be the heir of.
Then, we see crying Kawa throw the chair and Boss sign into the rabbit maker and turn them into her rabbit hat/hood. We could perhaps interpret that as her taking over the role of Boss, but doing it in her own rabbit way, or converting it to something else more suited to her. She wears the hat, accepting whatever power it symbolises and wipes away her tears. We also see her money chains show up, which likely indicate how she's getting rich over this.
We then see her dance in front of the Boss's desk with someone's legs swinging behind her. Although the rest of the swinging imagery in this video does not indicate something like this, it's possible that concealed within all of this, the particular instance is supposed to symbolise the Boss having hung themselves (explaining the empty seat), potentially over the grief of having lost their daughter, ignorant of the fact she would soon be resurrected. This hypothesis depends on a lot of assumptions, though, so don't take it as fact.
We also see the swinging legs multiply soon after, which might indicate more people having hung themselves, might be some artistic choice of exaggeration; or it might just mean that the legs always belonged to the bunny henchmen and no one hung themselves in the first place.
Either way, it kinda seems like Kawa is dancing the pain away. Or maybe she's partying for all the new power and money gained.
Then we see Kawa among the rabbit scientists with red unsettling eyes. This picture possibly symbolises how running the company corrupted Kawa or brought out her more insidious self.
Then finally we later see a rope descend upon Kawa and her being the next one bound by it and swinging, among the dancing creepy dudes. This likely indicates how her position as the boss essentially trapped Kawa, restraining her freedom to act, either because of her own ambitions or because the organisation itself doesn't let her.
Kawa is definitely one of the more mysterious characters of the series and I do love that we get to know more about her now, but we still need to see more I think to crack the case with her.
Finally, I have to observe: Kawa do be boppin'

I always thought of Kawa being somehow associated with Sue's activities after Game Over, since she's literal the only one in the entire video we see who isn't somehow struggling. This further points to Kawa being brought back by Sue. It still (to me atleast) isn't clear why Sue might like Kawa, but maybe Sue feels some sort of betrayal from Daram (them being childhood friends), and Kawa is the only one who isn't fond of Daram, since she's literally dead. Either way, this theory is very well explained! gj!
@@apricot_tarte Oh that's a cool detail that I couldn't have noticed, because I don't know Korean. But yeah I was suspecting it was her dad, too. Daughter of the bossman seems like a fitting trope.

@@joshpepper902 Ah good catch. I hadn't thought of that. Kawa definitely might be connected to Sue, but at least I don't think there's any animosity between Daram and Kawa considering in Citylove(red) Fondue seems angry and possibly about to fight Kawa, but Dew stops her while Daram simply stares at her, possibly understanding something the others don't. And of course in Game Over itself Kawa saves Daram.
One theory of mine is that possibly someone brought Sue back to life (in one of the deleted videos we see Daram beat Sue very bad, to the point where it looks like she might have died; I always thought she couldn't have since we see her alive at later times, but if resurrection is possible, it might be the answer) and Kawa was merely a side effect. Especially if we consider the manner in which the resurrection seems to work here: syringes and pills being littered all over the graveyard. It wouldn't be impossible that it accidentally also revived someone in the grave next door.
Another theory is that Kawa was revived herself possibly by her company/organisation. And it's the company/organisation that's connected to Sue rather than Kawa herself. And to go even further, maybe even the facility from H.A.Y. is connected to that organisation. They seem to have been into mad science as well, while I've always wondered if the white(ish)-haired lady with the lamp is somehow related to Sue.

Ive been doing a lil deep dive into this lore for a bit now x'D
Heres my take on this vid in Essay form.
(For character name references, please see Character Introduction if you ever get lost or have no idea who im talking about P:)
Sue is the only character we've seen so far, atleast afaik, that deals with medicines, and seems incredibly obsessed with it. Ive always kind of assumed that either she, or her parents, owned a big pharmaceutical company that had some incredibly shady practices, hence why the big muns(which is very insinuated in My Song(3) or 나의 노래(3)), and all the depictions of her with various pills and such make it a very common theme here for her.
At the start of this you see a ton of medical iconography, including pills that are similar to what Sue is usually depicted with. So my bet is that she or her company is responsible for whatever happened to Kawa, either she being brought back from the dead as a test subject or something like that. This also fits with the theme of the story, with RDR seemingly liking to keep everyone linked together in some form or fashion. (another example of this being that Dew seems to recognize and know Kawa, as seen in CityLove, where Kawa lands on Darams car and Dew holds Fondue back, something seemingly uncharacteristic of her. To further go along this tangent, its very possible that Kawa was seeking out Daram specifically, since in the final scene of that segment shows Kawa standing atop the car behind, with Daram looking back up curiously, like some animes do with fated encounters.)
In the next scene, we see her moving to Underfity, then sitting as if contemplating something. She had gotten somewhere but didnt have *something* is my interpretation here, which is further insinuated as you see the scientist lab bunnies dangling from ropes, being swung in one after another, as if the viewer was seeing or meeting them one after another after another, perhaps climbing up the corporate chain up until she got to the boss, who was missing.
My interpretation here is that she lacks purpose. She was brought back and then kinda just left alone. Shes never depicted to be with or along with anyone after she reaches Underfity. So perhaps she, somehow knowing that it was Sue's company that was responsible, went in search of Sue, who is missing(likely because shes searching for the presumed time machine as seen in GameOver)
This next segment lends itself well to theory, as upon realizing that she cant find her purpose she hatches a plan. Theres a few reasons on why this next segment plays out the way it does. Either she believes that moving up the corporate ladder will force Sue to see her, or she's decided that if she cant figure out what her purpose is, then she'll just make one. Regardless though, its obvious that she does climb the chain until she reaches what appears to be as high as she can go.
Theres also more iconography to be seen here. Originally i imagined that the hanging scientist lab rabbits were a more 'softer' depiction of them being hung or killed. However after watching it again a bit ago, Puppet Master sprung to mind, which really fits the narrative much better here, as well as the final scene. Theyre all faceless puppets of the company, puppets that Kawa exploits as she gets further and further along the chain (my interpretation of the more and more swinging rabbits behind her in the second dancing scene)
By the end of it, her plan has gone exactly to plan. She either had lost herself in the greed of it all, or perhaps she was just waiting to become a puppet herself.
Further speculation. There is a possibility that she discovers who Sue really is (she being the antagonist of the story who obviously enjoys the thrill of killing, especially if it ends with her getting what she wants. Or perhaps she just thinks its all just a big game which would fit with Game Over's title and narrative. Either way, a textbook psychopath.)
This would explain *why* she seeks out Daram, and also helps Daram in Game Over, rather than going after Sue. Its all difficult to say really.
Though that said, with H.A.Y., its also possible that Kawa feels an unspoken bond with Daram as they were both experiments (both likely by Sue's hand, or her company.

With RDR's latest 'tour of underfity' vid, theres much to discuss and update!
Firstly, its still very much insinuated that Shu was very involved in Kawa's rebirth, whether that was literal or figuratively.
However, in the new vid, Shu talks about how Kawa's father may have been a significant figure in UnderFity, a big boss man of some kind, which very much may be who she was trying to get back to, but finds that he's long gone. This does raise MANY more questions however, as this doesnt answer who the doctor/scientists of the company are.
It *is* possible that it was her Father that started the motions to bring Kawa back to life, assuming she had died of coarse, which might explain the doctor/scientists.
Its also stated that Kawa and Pocopocp destroyed the second city of Underfity (and its insinuated that this second city was the one her father potentially ran, or had a huge hand in, in some way.) But its also stated that she seems to have plans to shut down Shu's laboratory where all her experimentations happen. (something that also seems to run in the family.) So it may be safe to assume that she used her fathers company, or former position, to puppeteer a revolt of sorts against said lab, which resulted in the second cities destruction.
This does still leave a LOT of questions unanswered however, such as the nature of her fathers position/business, what happens to her at the end, etc.
As for her ties with Daram, my earlier theory is not specifically confirmed, however it is stated that for some reason Kawa has decided to look after Daram's well being. Its also insinuated in the tour video that Daram met Dew and Fondue both at the labs before they had escaped, and is likely why they all live together.
I strongly believe that it was still Shu or those at her lab, that brought Kawa back. This makes much more sense with how Dew reacts back in CityLove, if Dew had met Kawa at the lab, as it has been completely confirmed that she had lost all memories and everything of herself from before experimentation. It also would give Kawa a reason to A: seek out Daram and protect her, as she has seen first hand the special attention Shu gives her, and B: a further reason to destroy the labs.
However, this is still largely speculation.

So the thumbnail labels Kawa's rabbit hat as "Dad." And as we know, Kawa made the hat to signify her new rank in power. This basically confirms everyone's suspicions that Kawa took her father's position of an unknown (possible competing company of Nox's?) after being brought back to life, which explains her immense wealth.
