The Jabulani HERD 🐘 is so lucky to be in a safe place at night. You all love and care for all of them. You can see by this video all of the hard work you have to do on a daily basis to clean the stables and the surrounding areas while the HERD 🐘 are out in the bush. Fishan is also my favorite. He is a wonderful creature that survived a broken leg several years ago. He had terrific medical attention and necessary casks on his leg during his recovery. Fishan is a strong minded creature. He does not give up❗️He is also a kind hearted creature and a comfort to several other elephants. Yes, I adore Fishan.

A couple of days ago I was looking at some of Fenya.😢 It made me appreciate the successful rescues and introductions of Khanyisa and Phabeni even more.

Loved this, but I can see it is a huge job maintaining everything. I'm sure those that do it are devoted and love their work. Well, maybe not shoveling dung 😄 The elephants are well-looked after and the family of men and women that do this are very special. Such a wonderful operation you have...everything with a purpose.

These elephants are so pampered and cared after. They get fed at home and forage on the way to the dam and fed again before bed time. What a life of leisure they lead. lol 😅

Loved this tour! So cute to see Jabu, Lundi, and Mambo all sleeping on their bed. Can certainly see why the solar would be so beneficial...if nothing else, the fencing and pumps for the water! Impeccably clean considering 10 girls and 6 big big boys sharing their space! Adorable how they get a "treat" can see they recently had oranges 😁 Very well thought out and planned! Superb job in making their "space' a HOME they love! Many thanks again to all who make this a beautiful home for the Happy Herd!! ❤❤❤❤❤

You really get an idea of their size when you see the elephant checking out the tractor. His head is so big in comparison to the tractor and the person on the tractor!! And those beautiful eyes!!

That the HERD lives in such amenable and cozy surroundings is just fantastic. And they are paired up with just the right ellieroomies! They are happy and calm and it's a great ending to their beautiful day! It's a true testimony to the years of love and caring and adhering to a daily routine that has made them such wonderful examples of how it really doesn't take much to make one happy! Gracias ADINE , Gracias Señores cuidadores de la manada de elefantes de JABULANI 🐘 Por lo bien organizado ,y bien distribuido todo lo que hay en los Establos , para que los elefantes se sientan seguros ,con alimento , espacio para pasar las noches ,también tienen un poso con agua para que beban también tienen un tractor donde se recoge toda clase de desperdicios ,y los establos quedan aseados

Tokwe tends to get possessive at dinner time. She often grabs a bunch of feed and then sticks some more next to a tusk for dessert. She deserves it though, she is a magnificent matriarch.

It is the first time I at least have seen Tokwe use back kicks as a threat. You have to say Kumbura was cunning in the way she waited until Tokwe was facing away from her, before she grabbed part of Tokwe's stash. It is almost as if Kumbura, Timisa and Khanyisa are playing games to see who can wind up the Matriarch.

Appreciate the behind the scenes of the homestead. So much thought and work has been put forth to care for the elephants. The composting isn’t always an easy task. I’m impressed with how you use in to fertilize the banana grass and make products. Well done.

A lot of the videos in the playlist section for each elephant sometimes mentions the meaning of the name and which local language it is from. 🙂 I am new to the channel and those playlists are helping me to learn about each elephant.
Each elephant’s name and meaning is listed on the HERD website on their individual profile page.
A lot of them are named after rivers in Zimbabwe and South Africa
Please have a look at Herd’s website, you’ll find all the names, their meaning and in what language it is, you’ll also find plenty of videos describing each ellie, age, history, character, how to recognize her/him, which place in the hierarchy of the herd etc..

There starting @3:05: Lundi is such a character❤!🤣 There starting @4:20: collecting the elephant dung...the zoo in Portland, Oregon collects an sells their elephant dung, they call it "Zoo'do"; I have used it in my gardening and found it to be an excellent fertilizer for my flowers and vegetables! Is there a way you could package and sell yours to local farmers? That's about as "organic" a fertilizer as you can get!...OK, as usual I make comments on your videos "on the fly", as I'm watching them...so now I read "JabuLadies elephant dung paper and soap"...wow, most excellent video...thank you!
I carry much LOVE for each and every one of the elephants there at HERD...have followed their lives ever since you rescued little Khanyisa; I fretted and shed many tears when Fish broke his leg...and all the many other joys and heartaches over the years. I just want you to know that beside all those folks who are wealthy enough to personally come visit/stay for a while, there are many more of us who love your work, love the elephants just as much, but who either are financially unable to afford such costs a visit to your remarkable sanctuary cost, or are too old to safely make such a trip. like me. All I can send you is my deep admiration, respect, and Love for what you, and all the carers and staff do for these intelligent, caring, family-oriented creatures! In a world growing more and more crowded, and frantic you truly have created a safe haven, a sanctuary, not only for the elephant but yourselves... ... ...Thank You!

These elephants live a luxurious lifestyle lol, they have butlers, maids, chefs and doctors on standby. Seeing the elephant's interactions with the machinery was great!
