The garden is amazing! Maybe it's just me but Phabeni is a beautiful baby elephant. I think when Kanyisa was rescued, she was a bit bigger and much older.
It's true, Phabeni is beautiful. He has big chocolate eyes and long lashes, and he's very calm and graceful. Khanyisa is albino so she had pretty blue eyes, but a lot of injuries. She's an extrovert and very loving, but she listened to direction well. Beni is much more a baby bull - he is independent and can be feisty. It amazes me how calm he has been in the middle of introductions! In the center of 50,000 kg of moving, trumpeting elephant mass, he would yell if someone was rough with him, or just casually walk under the next elephant to get away. I even saw him casually crossing his back legs. He's so tiny, you would think he would be scared, but then I think, well, would a 7 month old be terrified of a loud group of grabby adults they barely know? Of course not! They are with their tribe. ❤🐘
It's like a wonderful children's book that the adults also find so enchanting and magical. I could watch them all day as it brings peace and joy to my heart ♥♥♥

What a wonderful way to start my day,watching the 4 legged Amigos doing a spot of gardening. Little Spotty is SO cute standing next to bodyguard Lammie. Phabeni is rubbish at raking,bless him. He's better at Bush trimming. Nandi has grown to be a beautiful girl. Sparkling eyes,shiny coat. Gorgeous! Phabeni so funny with that rubber trunk. So lovely to see him having a calm ,joyful time with his friends. To think back to his arrival just a few months ago to now,he's a totally different baby. All credit to the wonderful miracle workers at HERD,2 legged and 4 legged family who ,once again have shown what good food,good vets ,exceptional caring,strong experience, and most of all the greatest selfless love can do. Nandi is a sweetie, but Lammie wasn't very thrilled when he arrived as a puppy and Khanyisa was still in the orphanage. She's a bit more tolerant of Nandi nowadays, but her first priority is Phabeni. Not called Lammie the Legend for nothing.😉
Thank you so much for providing an explanation for the abscess on Phabeni's left hip. I thought it was a pressure wound and worried that he was awfully young to be getting them. I know that Fishan has gotten them on his left side from having to put all his weight on that side so that he can use his right leg to get back up after laying down. This was a cute video. Thank you for sharing
Lammie and Spotty make a great pair!! They both watch over Phabeni in these early years! Nandi is beautiful, too!! She does feel comfortable among the gang!!

Lammie is so cool, walking with her head held high and very proud. She knows that she’s in charge. Her little friend, Spotty, is adorable with the cutest back legs. And, little Beanie is looking good. I’ll have to read up on his rescue. I know about Khanyisa and her being caught in a snare as a baby…..however, I don’t know that much about the Beanie and what he went through. Poor little boy. I wish him the best in his recovery, rehabilitation and acceptance by the herd.

2:35 Phabeni's little flapping ears are the cutest thing ever! It's like he was channeling his inner Dumbo and preparing to fly! (And he didn't need a magic feather at all because he was always able to fly on his own. I love that story so much - the first time my parents read it to me as a child, I think that's when I fell in love with elephants.) Love seeing Lammie and Spotty are now a bonded duo. And as an owner of a rescue dog who's mostly german shepard, I have so much love for Nandi! They truly are the best companions a girl could ever ask for!
The crew videos are really very special, I absolutely love them! Witnessing animals of different species living harmoniously as well as being friends, is so delightful & heartwarming 😍 I'm so happy Lammie has a little buddy, in sweet Spotty, to support her very important work which she takes extremely seriously! Had to laugh at the intensity in which she was keeping a very close eye on Nandi! 😆🥰🙏❤️🐘🐶🐑🐑
You can almost imagine what Phabeni is thinking, with that gentle back leg push when Nano is licking his rear....he didnt want to do it but it was a natural instinct, he hesitate and was not forceful with it, showing his gentle nature...and his trunk swings, again probably the instinct coming in when he is ready to throw the dry mud on his skin.....all these actions are instinct of his growth starting to show, it is really so lovely to see these subtle things and if you hadn't got all this on record we would not be able to see it all...I love it! Seeing that rake again made me remember Kanisyia and her love of the rake......what happy memories! Your Sanctuary is truly a blessing for all, and the 1000 hearts is a testament to what we can achieve if we all stand together! Blessings to you all:)
Lammie has never accepted Nandi. It's a instinctive thing. She is protective everytime Nandi is near. That abscess looks big. I hope it's not being cleaned like the way they do Fishan. Cause that's painful. Thanks for telling us about it. I've wondered what it was for a whole. Phabeni is cute with his Lammie and Spotty. I think he really likes them.

Lammie is so cool, walking with her head held high and very proud. She knows that she’s in charge. Her little friend, Spotty, is adorable with the cutest back legs. And, little Beanie is looking good. I’ll have to read up on his rescue. I know about Khanyisa and her being caught in a snare as a baby…..however, I don’t know that much about the Beanie and what he went through. Poor little boy. I wish him the best in his recovery, rehabilitation and acceptance by the herd.

2:35 Phabeni's little flapping ears are the cutest thing ever! It's like he was channeling his inner Dumbo and preparing to fly! (And he didn't need a magic feather at all because he was always able to fly on his own. I love that story so much - the first time my parents read it to me as a child, I think that's when I fell in love with elephants.) Love seeing Lammie and Spotty are now a bonded duo. And as an owner of a rescue dog who's mostly german shepard, I have so much love for Nandi! They truly are the best companions a girl could ever ask for!

Witnessing animals of different species living harmoniously as well as being friends, is so delightful & heartwarming 😍 I'm so happy Lammie has a little buddy, in sweet Spotty, to support her very important work which she takes extremely seriously! You can almost imagine what Phabeni is thinking, with that gentle back leg push when Nano is licking his rear....he didnt want to do it but it was a natural instinct, he hesitate and was not forceful with it, showing his gentle nature...and his trunk swings, again probably the instinct coming in when he is ready to throw the dry mud on his skin.....all these actions are instinct of his growth starting to show, it is really so lovely to see these subtle things and if you hadn't got all this on record we would not be able to see it all...I love it! Seeing that rake again made me remember Kanisyia and her love of the rake......what happy memories! Your Sanctuary is truly a blessing for all, and the 1000 hearts is a testament to what we can achieve if we all stand together! Blessings to you all:)
Lammie has never accepted Nandi. It's a instinctive thing. She is protective everytime Nandi is near. That abscess looks big. I hope it's not being cleaned like the way they do Fishan. Cause that's painful. Thanks for telling us about it. I've wondered what it was for a whole. Phabeni is cute with his Lammie and Spotty. I think he really likes them.
