And outside Staples, for all the work he put in on the Lakers in that arena! 😂
Shaq and Duncan would kill in todays league
Tim Duncan was a leader and had a strong presence on the court, because of him the SA Spurs had a great run in the NBA.
Timmy was my fav player after MJ. The most underrated player. Never shies away from big moments.
except that damn free throw line
For people to say Kobe is better than Shaq or Lebron, after watching these highlights, Shaq was a beast but Tim Duncan was hungry!
G money & Duncan 2 of my favs 👌
Games were SO MUCH more physical then damn
that's the most i've ever heard Duncan talk
Is that Will Perdue? Dang there were some big guys back then
The man, the legend.
People forget Duncan was a PF. Watching these highlights you should be that much more impressed with him. Shaq scored more often when matched up with Robinson than he did with Duncan.
Nice
2nd year in the league - finals mvp
Never was a big Spurs fan but, they were a great team. This is the defensive intensity I miss with today’s game. Just a 3 point contest. With the all star game being the biggest joke!!!
Tim Duncan is the best fundamental power forward the nba has seen
I don’t see any of the people who say that Kobe dominated Tim Duncan here in these comments
Kobe didn’t even know defense was part is the game for like his first Six seasons… he didn’t even care, till Phil told him “ur going to have to start playing defense, if u wanna Win a Championship”! 😂 it hilarious and confusing watching Kobe play 100% defense in the Olympics… RIP Doberman 🙏
😂😂
Not in 99 but def every year starting in 2001 he was torching them. And I mean taking it personal. Feel free to look up every year since 01 that he faced them in the playoffs
@@taraatkins4823 So discount when Duncan wins to make the narrative work?
2001, 2002,2004, 2008 he is 4-2 vs duncan and he was the leading scorer in his team even with in that early 2000 yes he definitely dominated duncan
Tim Duncan and Shaq are not "battling" each other here.
Duncan was 5/6 in finals and the one he lost vs heat they shoulda won. They were up 3-2 and were up in game 6 by 5 with less than a min. Crucial missed free throws by ginobli and Kwahi Leonard then pop took him out for that rebound attempt after missed brick by Lebron and the great prayer shot by Allen. Shoulda been Jordan status 6/6. But spurs made up very next year beating levron and heat by record margin finals win. Average of 20 pts out scored the heat in every game and they lost a game lol still beat them by and average of 20points. That is domination and determination
that move at 10:42 Duncan did on Shaq, got his ass jumpin. Man, his footwork was crazy
Tim Duncan and R and B singer Maxwell looked alike. "Woo Woooooo Wo Ha Ha 🎵🎶" (Beginning of song Fortunate) 😂😂😂😅😅😅🤣😭😆🤷🏿♂️💯💯
Bruh.. What?😆🤭
Mental Vs Physical matchup! Back when u could just enjoy the matchup and appreciate the game as a whole. I was never a huge Shaq fan, but he was great and unstoppable with the Lakers. He was always the biggest guy on the court and the most privileged player in the NBA, but boi did he love to abuse his power… he threw more elbows than an MMA fighter and the refs let him get away with manslaughter! Tim had such a great balanced game, and was one of the rare big men in that era that could actually shoot FT’s, witch made him great in the Playoffs. But what I loved about him was his mental toughness, I don’t think I’ve ever seen him flinch or loose control or play with emotions? He always knew how to control his energy and stay focused, that made me respect him. Even in big moments with all the pressure on, I’ve never seen him choke! (Duncan & KG were two of the Greatest PF and on my fav players list)
Tim 5-1 in the finals would have been 6-0 if not for Ray Allen 2013 😳😳
They had game 7 they could've won
@@troylee419695...88
IF only Kawhi didn't miss a free throw that would have been a 4-pt lead...
95...88
@@atbp828 kawhi and ginobili miss clutch free throw and popovich miss put duncan for the rebound in the last play...spurs throw that game 6 for the window
The Spurs shut down the Great Western Forum!
If not for NY Knicks' miraculous Playoff run, they should have Phil Jackson manning the bench for next year instead of the Lakers and their move to Staples Center.
Thanks for sharing, as always.
👍
The lakers returned the favor and shut down the alomodome in 02 with a kobe game winner.
@@LARULES100
Laker bandwagons should have thanked Phil Jackson, rather. 😜
@@OrionOodamaAnd Tim Duncan should thank Greg Popovich.
@@Theterminato2013
In fact, they are thanking each other.
That's not something they're keeping to themselves nor to the public.
Tim Duncan is the best basketball player that I have ever seen.
My top 5.
man you gotta get around... Tim was great and loved watching the spurs. But no....he is behind a few other centers in the past in overall rankings
@@TheHeavensFellen You saying only a few and not even naming anyone makes me feel more validated.
@@adamguy6342 i could try to compare to older players which he never did battle who may have been about as good but i dont like t compare players who never competed against another
@@TheHeavensFellen Or you could just poo poo another person's opinion which is obviously valid considering your statement that only a few are even in the conversation.
Shaq was swept in 95, 96, 97, 98, 99. He was dominant but couldnt handle Malone or Duncan or Hakeem. But he sure dominated Rik Smiths, Vlade Divac and Jason Collins
He dominated Multi time DPOY Dikembe Mutombo, Duncan and CWebb throughout the 2001 and 2002 playoffs so your narrative he only performed well against east teams is nothing but a stupid ass narrative.
@@Theterminato2013 Mutombo was ass next to hofs like Ewing and Hakeem Cwebb always choke. He only "dominated" Duncan when Drob was past prime. When he faced real center lile Big Ben....you know what happened
actually david robinson was his real nemesis
@@mr.e347Yeah you’re smoking Jimmy Crack Corn. Shaq averaged 26 ppg on 60% fgp against Ben Wallace in the 2004 Finals. It was Duncan who struggled vs dominant defensive big men shooting a pathetic 41% in the 2005 Nba Finals being guarded by the Wallace Bros, luckily he had Manu and Horry save his ass vs the Pistons. 😂🤣☠️
Before Kobe became the black mamba
We were spoiled by this. This is all the NBA Basketball I have left. It is bittersweet. Like the NFL…thank God (LIFE) they don’t own the Sport. They can never own the Sport.
Spurs closed out the old Forum this year with a sweep. Lots of respect to Sean Elliott probably needed to be on dialysis during this playoff/championship run. Missing the last year's of his prime.
everytime a johnson takes a shot from Duncan's pass, SWEET !
W/o watching I remember Tim being too little for SHAQ he was super dominant at this time
The great Will Perdue 4 times NBA champ.
Was this the last game in the Great Western forum?
How did spurs win, when you only showed Lakers' highlights......?
