When Aldous dances like Aldous, she is "enigmatic" and "ethereal", but when *I* dance like Aldous I'm "perplexing" and "scaring the customers"
Hahahahah
When I tried dancing like Aldous Harding some of the passengers complained that it made the safety briefing hard to follow.
When I dance like Aldous Harding my kids get uncomfortable. I think it's working!

You really put some thought into this 😂
I was trying to remember this song and googled "show the ferret to the egg" thinking that it couldn't possibly be correct. But here I am.
That's like when I typed "lalala song" and got "Loving You" by Minnie Riperton. One of those songs that's so weirdly annoying that I have to hear it again.
Feliz 8 de marzo a todos...
Same man
...and that is how to find obscure but great music.
We also would’ve accepted “look at all the peaches”.
I'm so glad she stopped by Earth on her way through the universe.
Not gonna lie I'm not sure I am. I kinda suspect she means humanity when she says "Its already dead" Think we have found phase fours big bad. Tune though.

Showed this video to my 73 yr old mother, her first comment was "this reminds me of what my girlfriends and i were doing in art school during the 60's," and i realized great minds really do think alike
This put a giant smile in my face lol. I love when I can connect to the older generation through music. Far too many of them are so close minded about today's music
That makes sense. The film Holy Mountain came out in 1973, and the art direction in this video takes a lot of cues from psychedelic cinema from that era.
When I showed this film to my 73-year-old mother, her first reaction was, "This reminds me of what my girlfriends and I were doing in art school back in the 1960s," and I realized that great minds truly do think alike.
While Stoned maybe.
Hur dur feminism. Stfu.

Got to be the 666th thumbs-up on this comment; it just feels right--I'm caught between ecstasy and unease

Ok i listened to this Song for a year now. At first I was obsessed with the fact, that the Video is uncanny mystical witch-art, its on the edge of sadness, wisdom, horror and comedy. It offers comedic relief for things there shuldnt be had none. It also offered me a non hardfactual insight into the feelings of (a) woman and I still open myself to let that sink in. But today I decided to write this comment because I realized that this Song is also musically unbelievably groovy and funky. Its just such a joy to dance to it. The groove is unreal, I cant even think of anything that has this soft subtle but brilliant funk to it. So yeah, im unworthy, thank you!
and as others have mentioned, I too think its one of the greatest songs ever written

I bought her album, the vinyl arrived, I havent played brand new vinyl for 40 years? . . .I found my 40 year old 'stereo' in the back of the shed. I played this song. I showed the ferret the egg. He sighed.
Same drill here; but my ferret sneeringly declared "Wake up, retro-consumerist chump! Vinyl's a thing of the past, gone, kaput -- *I'm* not gettin' led along!" But after some moments more of listening he suddenly stared wildly around and (catching sight of an old Allman Brothers LP's album-cover art) exclaimed, "Jesus -- look at all them damn peaches!!!"-- and I'll be darned if he didn't suddenly disappear from somewhere and appear inside of nowhere!
Of course, he'd previously been bingeing on "Binaural-DMT-Frequency Pineal Gland Activation" vids on CZcams, so I can sorta understand where he was comin' from.
Cheers.
"Let the ferret see the egg" sounds indescribably filthy and infinitely more sinister.

Nice way to f the pain away
@@daninoa9650 Well, it will certainly keep the eggs from getting any crazy ideas, right? Because ferrets are notorious egg-stealers. And not to just collect them. Their actual motives are said to be rather more sinister than that.

This song always reminds me of my grade 7 math teacher. He was the best teacher I've ever had. He always played this during tests and when we went to a camp with class he played this to wake us all up. Best teacher ever. Going to high-school next year and I'm going to miss him.
What I would give to be a kid again. I know this sounds corny and weird, but enjoy the time you're living in right now. Things will get crazy and hard one day, and these days will be something you go back to forever, as a source of strength and identity. Things might suck sometimes, but these will be some of the best and most important of your life.
Teachers like this are extremely rare.
Cherish the memories you have.
He has certainly entered your psyche and will influence, however subtly, everything you do from now on until you die.
He is a great man.
If you haven't, tell him. And thank him.
I have written our spoke with teachers from my past who made a deep positive impact on me, to thank them and tell them so.
There's one that I tried to, but he died before I could. 😞
Gosh I would want a teacher who played this song 😭

The costume is a direct homage to Alejandro Jodorowski's classic film "the Holy Mountain." ^_^ This singer really has fun with the kooky getup.

Alejandro Jodorowsky's 'The Holy Mountain' comes to mind while watching this video.
Exactly what I was thinking 🙂
I saw your comment and went to find out about Jodorowsky. Havent seen the film. But have begun an inquiry... so far only learning about it from a distance. I hope i have the strength to see the film but feel a little hesitant. Fear it will send my brain into a dark place, not the reverse. CZcams comments in a time of pandemic. Opening worlds through a 6/8 in screen. Bizarre.
@@GrumpyYank26 John Lennon and Yoko Ono were so taken by his previous film, El Topo, they helped finance the making of The Holy Mountain. John and Yoko were early purveyors of the midnight movie scene, of which El Topo was one such film that gained a cult status by the early morning screenings. In my opinion, El Topo might be a more difficult watch than The Holy Mountain.
Jodorowsky.... overwhelm a little with all the BIG conflicts and awareness of my first world complicity and comfort. I find relief by watching Detectorists. Have you seen it? I first heard about this song from someone I've loved like no one else. Years after and with a lot of pain involved, I still can't run away from this song. It doesn't matter when or where I stumble across it, it brings me to the very same place of not knowing what the future might bring. Now I know that it brought a lot of pain. And even though quite a while has passed, I still feel every single bit of this song. Except now I truly know what a transient hunt love is.
I don't think I'll ever be able to feel how I felt before. Or maybe I will never be able to stop feeling it, even if only inside my own little egg.
"And now I sleep 'side words you do not read with me".
We can't run away from how we feel.
"And now I sleep 'side words you do not read with me". Take a wild guess what Aldous was singing right as I read those words in your post. Coincidence? _Nothing this woman does is coincidence!!_ She transcends time.
So happy to see all the musical witches gaining traction.
Debbie Harry brought me here. she mentioned this song as one of her recent favorite songs in an interview with virgin radio. even more thankful for her existence right now.
Love that she loves it. ❤
Interesting that you said that. Just this past week, i was watching that very same Debbie Harry interview vid and heard Deb mention this Aldous song. So me being curious (never heard of aldous before), i wanted to see it. Scared the bejabbers outa me (not exactly sure what bejabbers are), gave me the creeps. Took me a whole week before i could rewatch it because i was too disturbed....🤣😂😳 True!
I've made up my mind! Aldous is definitely my favorite artist!
I can't stress enough how wonderful the construction of this song is. the lyrics is so intricate and exposing but so secluded at the same time. and the composition and production of the music is so gently done. You can feel a needle fall in-between the space and neatly placed hits of the arrangement.

Our toddler is a big Aldous fan. We listen to her music regularly during relaxing times.
Sometimes after a 15 minute Baby Signs session, we’ll play her a music video as an outro. Put this on and she was in utter rapture until the blue mask part. Never seen her sign “all done” so rapidly or definitively.
The thing is, the very next day, when we did Baby Signs, I put on one of her other favorite music videos, and she rejected it, then another, until I put this one on. She watched it until the “big hat on face” moment, then calmly signed “all done”. Turned the TV off and she was happy.
