Avatar Studios has just confirmed their first movie: get ready to see Avatar Aang as a young adult! The Aang movie will bring back all of our favorite members of Team Avatar - I can't wait! Here are my thoughts about Avatar Studios' new movies in development.
Today's Avatar news includes everything we know about the animated Avatar Aang movie. It takes place when Aang is in his prime, and it will not be an adaptation of the comics! Things are looking great for the future of the Avatar universe!

@I have 0 likes It already came out. Book 1 of Korra is called Air. I always enjoyed that little detail and the contrast between Aang and Korra's challenge at the start of each series.
Without a doubt we need to go forward in time to see what an avatar in the late 20tj or early 21st century would look like. I would like to see a story that builds upon the theme of book 2 of Korra where people in the modern age are becoming detached to the spirit world and the avatar has become marginalized in the beginning of the series. Then throughout the show events happen that make the avatar needed once more to restore the balance.
Kyoshi hands down, take it in a more, using US TV ratings systems, TV-14 LV direction with an Avatar willing and able to take lives if it means protecting the innocent and a much more serious plot

i love to hear this, alot of people are worried about the voice actors (me being one of them). But i think if not bringing back most of the old cast like zuko, toph, sokka, they would find people who sound alike. Just like they did with uncle iroh (i have no idea how they did that)
The VA for S3 Iroh was working with Mako so that's how.

It better be the same voice actors , apart from katara and aang’s they all still talk about how they loved avatar , and it would be incredible to hear aang’s voice actor as an adult voicing adult aang , the entire main voice actors did an incredible job

I hope they bring back the original voice actors for this. Most of them we’re already young adults when they did this and now Zach is too so it just makes sense

For this new Netflix show I hope they expand on the timeline it took for Aang and his friends to master their skill sets. I mean the whole show at least how I remember it took place in the span of less than one year that works in a cartoon sure, but in live action I feel like that’s too far-fetched considering you’re using real people.
Personally I think when Aang learns of the comet it should be a few years away that way he has about one year for each element, along with his friends to master their skills. It makes it more believable at when they’re fighting against people who are fully grown who also have years of experience also.
Also I think they should expand by adding a fourth season if possible. Great opportunity to show the aftermath of the 100 years war and Zuko’s search for his mom that was never properly addressed and was very open ended. I just felt like 3 seasons was a little short I really think it could do with a 4th season.
Oh also really think that Sokka should keep his bird and his sword this time.
Actually, Zuko's search for his mom was in the comics that came out after the show ended.

Young adults is anything under 30 love, and that’s still narrow. I dont think they’ll care to make aang exactly 21 yo. I think they’d be okay with aang 22 or 23 yo aswell. It really doesnt matter that much how much exact years they are to fit some kind of internet definition 🤷🏻♀️
True! My main serious point though was about Bumi's birth. As I said, Aang being 21 is an estimate, but if he's much older than 23 then it might break canon (LOK canon too, which more unbendable than things established in the comics)

I am so excited for this. The single Avatar product I am most excited for. I'll give them a chance with the Earth Avatar series, but Korra was not it for me, so I am not sure what to make of one where bending will be even more meaningless. I am probably more excited for the live action original show than the Earth Avatar show because of the incredible passion so many of the actors and creatives for the show have for the original. I know the creators aren't there, but they already made their version and it is untouchable, historic and will live with us forever. If the new creatives for this show have the same respect and love we fans have for it, I actually think it may be better that they are doing it without the creators.
I think this is a mistake. Part of what made avatar one of the best series ever was because of their character development and arcs. Avatar was effectively OP against fire lord ozai… him as a “young adult” will just be OP as hell. The whole purpose of the show was to show a basically child learn all 4 elements and be an underdog the entire series, not be full fledged OP. Kora fell short as a series for similar reasons she was powerful basically episode 1.
All that being said.. I’ll obviously watch out of nostalgia and hope it’s great. I’d be more interested in a series vs. Film.

While it would never happen; If I were to come up with an Avatar Movie; I'd have it set during Korra's Era. I'd then introduce 2 brand new Primary Elements. Shadow and Light. Like I said; it'd never happen. I doubt the creators ever want to expand the number of Primary Elements but I think it would be very interesting.

Great news then, if you haven’t yet found out - it’s a series, so hopefully enough time to do the characters and story justice! I hope they’ll do more than 10 episodes though. Seems to be a number Netflix likes.

Atla wasn't garbage 15 years ago! I'm 25 although I didn't watch it as it aired because of reasons watched it on Netflix.
Luke warm take, but yearly movie releases are a sign of a dying franchise, and seriously signify a mediocre at best product. Take the James Cameron approach. I dont care if it takes them 2-5 years to release their first couple movies, I want it to be *worth it*, i want the writers and animators to not be put on crunch, i do not want a rushed product. I can not stress enough how utterly toxic the disney/marvel approach is of throwing out a feature-length cgi-heavy IP every christmas just to keep the shallow level of excitement up.
Bad example because blue-people Avatar is now due for nearly yearly releases too with sequels coming in 2024, 2026, and 2026. I think Avatar Studios is taking their timing planning stuff out too (it's been 3 years) and then will hit with back-to-back banger, hopefully.
@@BabyLionTurtle The only way they got even close conceptually to yearly releases is by taking 13 years to plan, write, film, and then process, and all with a keen awareness that quality standards should be met before any arbitrary deadlines. People mocked Cameron for not setting release dates, and for postponing... until he dropped one of the most technically impressive movies ever. All that's to say you cant use the extreme non-standard approach, to defend the standard, just because at surface level the outcome is similar. It seemed that originally Avatar Studio's approach was the Disney boiler-plate release mentality. I hope they changed that, and i hope they take as long as they could possibly need. I still stand by what i said. I dont care if they take 3-5 years to develop 2 movies, arbitrarily determining that yearly releases are necessary is harmful.
