    Been coming up to Alaska almost every year since 1990 to Salmon fish. I meet people every year from all over the country that want nothing to do with Salmon they are only here for the trout. After I catch all the salmon I can eat in a year which is usually about 15 to 18 I grab my 4 wt fly rod and with the egg bead and fish next to the fish cleaning table talk about trout heaven.

    You're standing in the fishing hole! The fish in the Kenai sit next to shore most of the time or a few feet out. As my guide tells me, if your over you're over ankles in the water you're too deep

      @@KodyMurray And for trout. I have caught a lot of big rainbows in water less than a foot.
