Really enjoyed your video on fishing the upper Kenai River. You did a wonderful job on it. I live in Florida now but used to live in Alaska and fished the upper Kenai every chance I could get. Still come there almost every August and September. I was familiar with all the places you and Fred walked in to. The upper Kanai is a jewel of a river. The trout, char and silvers on the Kenai fight harder than any other fish I've ever caught elsewhere. So much fun. Glad you got to experience the upper Kenai and I hope you can get back again to do another great video.
Everything on this video , captivating! Thanks for taking us on the journey With you all. Cheers, T. #flyprojectusa#silverontheswing
Love the adventure! It’s what we are meant to do
Killer! I'm a Kodiak roadie for life love fishing know that feel! ✌️🎣🐻
Outstanding video!
Nice! You just fished the Kenai with the BEST two guides on the river. Actually "guides" is an understatement, more like stewards and protectors of that river. I don't know how you found Fred and Stacy, but good on you man. Glad you enjoyed Alaska. I have the Alaska bug and do a couple trips a year if I'm lucky. Cheers!
Fred is actually a major part of the Fly Project Crew. Stacy and Fred both are a book of knowledge, especially when it comes to the Kenai! Thanks for watching.
@@flyprojectusa That is awesome. Tell Fred I said hello. I'm headed your way this summer around June. Love to fish some waters with you both. Cheers!!
@@millironsvideos absolutely! I'll tell him you said hello.
Cool adventure brotha! Keep‘em coming. 🎥😎🙌🏽🔥🎣
It was G-2-M-U.
The rainbows RIP! I have to do this...
Spot mancing sungai alaska indah sekali👍👍😍😍🙏🇮🇩
Alriiiight
I’m on Vineyard Lake (Irish Hills) watching this as we speak.
I've been there a time or two, I grew up fishing Twin Lakes up there.
@@flyprojectusa Yep, across from Evans! Man, how cool. Great job with the video, absolutely dig it. I just followed you on IG…if you ever come back to Michigan and want to swing up some Steelies or mice for some big Browns, we always have a spot in the Clacka.
@@GoblueJohn That sounds like a good time. I will definitely keep that in mind.
Could you like describe fishes you catch too. Cuz I wanted to know what type of fishes you catch😊❤ LOVE TO WATCH ALL YOURS VIDEOS 🎉❤
Yes, We caught Rainbow trout and the bigger ones were Silver Salmon (Coho Salmon). Thanks for watching!
What type of fishing worked the best for you there? I have a trip in July and was trying to get prepared! I have a 10ft 8wt and currently fish in Colorado
Nymphing was effective the first day. When we found fish podded up on a particular spot we stripped a streamer through it on a single hand and caught quite a few silvers that way. Swinging pretty consistent with a little patience. Good luck on your trip!
You ever come back to Michigan I got a cabin in Hale Michigan next to the Au sable river we could hit the hex hatch
Very good video 😊! Glad you made your goal and got to experience such a great 👍 place!! I was wondering if this was near the end of the RUNS? Fish were looking a little old!! I think a better Fly selection would've helped 😜!!
You should giveaway a trip with Fred!
Otter Creek has gotten big
😆
@@flyprojectusa lol
Was this actually a week ago? Ik it was posted then but I figured there’d still be snow. I live out in wasilla and am hopefully gonna be in kenai for 5 months starting April for work could be elsewhere but hoping for kenai
This was at the beginning of October
16:27 😮💨😯
Agree Daniel, it hits all the feels
How's the walk going to the wall? We seen a lot of bear activity last time i walked down the trail. 8-9 years ago haven't been back to that spot since then.
We actually only saw 1 bear the whole week we were fishing. We saw a lot of sign though.
Good👍👍👍
New sub ! Liked 🔥🤩😲
Thanks 🔥
Making memories. Unforgettable place, isn't it? It can change how you think and see things in life. I started out just visiting a friend for a few months a year. ...that was was over 20 years ago now and still loving it. hahaha. It's a place that a person can explore their entire life and still not feel done....
I'm only 1/3 into the video where you took out the spey. I really wanted to see you latch into something. What length/wt did you use? I just bought my first spey (13.5' , 8wt) but i haven't used it in moving water yet. I'm thinking I should have gone up a weight or 2 to keep up in faster waters.
Hah. I just got to the part where a fish on the spey was the goal...excellent.
On this trip we took a Project One 11'6" 5wt and a 12' 6wt. The 6wt was definitely the optimal rod for these Salmon. Thanks for watching!
What month and approx dates were you there? Heading there mid august this summer.
We were there the beginning of October.
@@flyprojectusa no wonder you looked cold. Enjoyed your video!
@@JCC7474 Thanks for watching!
What month of the year did you go? Looks like an amazing time.
It was October.
@@flyprojectusa I have been to Alaska 6 times for fishing. It's always been jncredible. I'm overdue for another trip there.
Did you guys find that net on the river by chance?
No we didn't.
I have found that so many comments (including other posts) have a lot of spelling errors.
Fantastic trip. Lost me with the obnoxious music though……..man it’s Alaska. Incredible rivers, fly fishing……….the sounds of the wild are the music.
I have 1 more species to catch up there on my TFO, the king.
