The F-16s Are Coming to Ukraine Soon. Exclusive Footage of Ukrainian Pilots Training in Denmark

  • In July 2023, Ukraine and several other countries formed a so-called F-16 coalition. The coalition is led by the United States, Denmark, and the Netherlands.
    The coalition is working on the transfer of aircraft, training of pilots and maintenance personnel, and preparation of infrastructure. United24 Media travelled to Denmark to meet the Ukrainian pilots who were selected for this great responsibility, and to see how training on the worlds most popular fighter jet is going.

      USA already did much. But i do not understand why so much material that is standing in the desert is not given to ukrain. All M1A1 are now out of service, some other material is recycled by melting it and granades are no longer used by the Army. Ukrain may use all of it.
      Even old armored trucks are better than no trucks, even the older american vehicles are good material if a T62 or older is facing and the M1A1 are better than everything others have and do not need even to have something at home.

The F16 is on par with the MiG 29, only the F16 has been upgraded with radars and more modern missiles, and they are far worse than Russian modern planes, all the F16s will be destroyed very quickly, because they don't have even the slightest chance..be realistic, just look and see. real situation

      @brookwhiteman9810 Před 3 měsíci +46

      I agree but this comment is going to anger so many butthurt bots lol. I'm here for the ride haha. But it's true, Russia has aircraft with better radars and they have a missile with better range however given that they havnt really done shit in Ukraine it's just smoke and mirrors. The F-16 has way better air to ground capabilities because most russian jets don't even have targeting pods and the glide bombs they do drop are very inaccurate and crude design which often malfunction but F-16s munitions like the SDBs and JSOW are extremely accurate like all NATO munitions just because of a standard which should be achieved and is achieved. Also the AMRAAM is better than russian long range missiles.

      Sorry, but Ukraine has been the hold up. They sent us 32 brand new recruits to be pilots. None were pilots. We had to put them through basic training, flight school, English training & technical English training. That took almost a year.
      Training has gone much slower, and the washout rate has been higher than normal with the Ukrainians, as they don't really seem up to the task of jumping into a modern fighter. The Romanians did much better.

      @@donwyoming1936 normally, I’d agree…
      But I have to say, considering what I’ve seen of the Russian air defense network around the front and Crimea, and with the second A-50 taken out, and so likely ensuring those aircraft will give the front a wide berth, I think KISS simple SEAD operations can still do enough damage to clear the front lines and much of Crimea for more aggressive Ukraine air operations while giving the troops a break from the pounding they been taking from Russian air as well as put further range limits on their air launched missiles.
      They don’t need to clear a path to and around Moscow, Murmansk, or airbases for bombers to perform a strike. Just push the front line air defense envelope far enough back to keep Russian air-to-ground attack aircraft and fighters from being protected when they are within their weapons range of the front lines. Beyond Black Sea operations, Russian aircraft dont venture much outside that envelope.
      I think the Ukrainians, with abbreviated mission specific training as well as planning and intelligence assistance from NATO, Operation “Hey Look, Your Shoes Untied” could succeed.
      A synoptic attack with MiGs as high bait and SCALP launchers, F-16’s burning in low (No A-50’s to see them) and popping up to launch HARM’s as close as practical when the radars , and drones for live battle damage assessment and (if they can get their hands on them) for F-16 JSOW targeting to chew up what the HARM’s and SCALPS haven’t hit, along with the crews.
      Or maybe I’m just a wishful idiot. 😊

      @gamarus0kragh Před 3 měsíci +2

      SEAD would be a really great step up, but as is said in a post above, much of the critical theory is at the planning stage.
      Neither Denmark nor I believe the Netherlands have/had the specialized SEAD mission as part of their air forces. Individual pilots may have had some exchanges with USAF F-16 squadrons that had that role but it hasn't been the focus and it is something that will have to follow when the pilots and higher echelons can get the training in the US (or perhaps Sweden, I believe they do train SEAD with their Gripens).
