SKARBRAND HATES KNOCKING SOUNDS
SKARBRAND SHALL STAY IN THE DOORWAY. HE HATES IT SLIGHTLY LESS
"BLOOD!"
- Skarbrand, the Exiled One
Bricky you really ought to try out the Chaos undivided faction; you can just choose any of the chaos gods; or undivided; or all of them; and do that in a really good sort of "base" template
SKARBRAND IS A CONTRIBUTING MEMBER OF SOCIETY!
If you wanted any additional insights on how you view these games, I'd reccommend checking our Mandalore Gaming's review videos on any of the Total Warhammer series.
Note about the Ogre's: not only they arguably have some of the most op units in the game, their whole reason for finding the bear god is to eat it......that's it...just want a god bear bbq
"God rib roast... I can taste it already..." - Greasus Gold Tooth
Godlike brisket is worth campaigning for
Change my mind.
They are hard countered by missles/halberd. they get absolutely shit on by cathay
Truly total war players the factions
The ogres are probably the perfect antichaos faction if it wasn't for the hunger
Other legendary lords: *wants the power of a god*
Kiev: *wants to save the bear*
Ogres: get in the pot
Ah yes Ukraine wants to save the God Bear.
"GET IN MAH BELLY"
Nurgle is actually just somebody who has 10,000 hours on League of Legends, crazy.
Nice
Grandpa is a man of culture
The true gamer faction is Ogre Kingdoms though
Explains why he's so toxic.
@@kenny187ful the Skaven are best-best gamer race-clan!
For real tho, they have the scent and the attitude.
I liked Ku'gath, sitting on his throne, commanding his army, brew some spells and throwing shit. Also his army rosters are wonderfully animated
Someone animated those attacks when they drop copious amounts of literal shit on their enemies
I will never unsee a nurgling doing snowangels in great unclean one's diarrea.
The 'throwing shit' is quite literal there.
I like lust
Especially those Nurglings. You have never seen or felt pure joy, until you've seen a pack of them Voltron together into a Nurgle-man.
Fun fact: In Skarbrand's campaign starting area, You can find a CHAINSWORD which gives you additional damage and stacking Weapon Strength everytime you kill something
IIRC Chainsword is unlocked in the Khorne realm of chaos, and should you enter any other realm of chaos after obtaining it, Khorne will take it back from you. Meaning you should go for this weapon after obtaining the other 3 souls.
You can find the chainsword in the khorne realm. and its honestly not even that impressive because DAWRVES CAN BUILD ATTACK HELICOPTERS, WHY DOES NO ONE EVER BRING THAT UP
@@nullakjg767 true but Chainswords are not really confirmed in Warhammer Fantasy and don't forget that Slaughter and Carnage is 40k lore and you can find it at the edge of the map I think
@@grengrengrengren actually in the Liber Chaotica there is a chain sword in Fantasy and I’m pretty sure there’s other instances. Think the idea is back in the day when 40k and Fantasy were “connected” via the warp some made it through
@@idkman6063 Wrong dude, you go ONLY to Khorne and eradicate anything on the map afterwards!
Khorne: hates magic
Skarbrand: uses magic axes
Khorne: gets slightly more angrier
Those are not magic axes they are daemonic axes (which daemons are made from magic but what ever) made from flesh of Skarbrand's two family members
Khorne loves magical weaponry tho. Its a embodiment of magic enslaved to might.
For a decent breakdown daemons and their weaponry are creations of the warp respective to their deity. For example, tzeentch uses the typical magic, tomes and magically imbued weaponry however in this context 'magic' is split into two descriptions: the conjuring of ancient eldritch soul energies within the immaterium or 'warp' and the 'winds of magic' applicable to the materium.
So magically imbued weapons are extremely diverse in which they can be imbued with warp energies AND the magic of the materium. Magic itself, both materium and immaterium, can be used in a similar fashion and is mastered by tzeentch followers. Now khorne does not necessarily 'hate' magic, what he hates is the abuse of RANGED magics. Fighting someone at ranged is dishonourable in khornes eyes and therefore he hates anything to do with that classification. HOWEVER, this line is met when skarbrand and similar daemons of khorne wield immaterium crafted and embued weaponry.
Now some will say the skull cannons would be a dishonourable unit however remember this craft can still fight in close range and does not back down easy. In Khorne's wisdoms and ideaologies: as long as martial prowess and honor in battle is met, he cares not what weapons nor tools are used to acquire blood and skulls.
@@neocalamity3459 Damn, and i thought the codex astartes was complicated
Guess whose getting another slap across the universe
Skarbrand is what we call a "One man Doomstack"
Also, try ogres, I'm sure you'll love the big boyz
ogres are fucking nuts and broken
I'm liking this purely because I'm happy for your sponsorship, how has this not bloody happened before.
His transition into said sponsorship was just *chefs kiss*
i litherally today was thinking tht i want to buy it cuz i wana play anything with warhammer and im 14.....the tabletop one costs MONEY
Im the complete opposite. no truth if you are sponsered by the product. its called shilling
@@thegingerwon2795
Right?! It's just like bottled water, What a bunch of shills right? Nah man I only drink toilet water like a true water enthusiast
I got u homie 🫵🏽👊🏽
@@heboric6136 There's a difference between getting sponsored by something and attempting to critique said thing as they're giving you money. I haven't seen Bricky rip into a sponsored product before (and if he has, let me know), but until I see that anything positive that he says about the game is suspect. _Especially_ since this is his first foray into Total War. I haven't seen him just straight up not caring who gives him the money and giving an honest review when the pressure isn't to review positively.
You forgot the best part.
The Ogres want a Divine Cookout.
That's it. That's the plot.
Seeing Bricky giddy about getting sponsored was so wholesome ☺️
Its nice to be wanted. lol
Wish I got a sponsor to live
Im amazed that with Bricky's love for Left 4 Dead and Warhammer he has not played the Vermintide series. Honestly one of the pieces of Warhammer media out there, its extremely underrated series especially with with the 40K based Darktide coming out soon.
"That's what ya got Mandalore for" - game respect game. Also, congrats on the sponsor, my dude - you seemed genuinely chuffed!
I think this game will be one of the greatest of all time once they work the kinks out and we get to play the combined campaign.
True
And get Chaos Dwarfs. GIMME CHAOS DWARFS!
Yeah, this is the culmination of almost a decade's worth of work, and I imagine we'll see DLC expanding this game(along with, and especially for, Immortal Empires,) for close to a decade.
honestly it's weird with no blood and gore i'm waiting for the blood dlc unironically
@@deron2203 The really great thing for me about the blood dlcs are all the great animations that tend to come with them.
Hey Bricky, in case you didn't know, while you're casting spells in combat you can hold down the mouse button and drag to point spells with tear-shaped or line attacks in different directions.
O h
Holy shit I didn't know that and I've been playing Total War Warhammer since the first game
@@StreetKid1314 That's a long time, I'm glad you know now! xD
I remember finding that out accidentally while playing TWW II while playing as Dark elves and i went:
"Wait, You can do that!?"
It was also my 8th playthrough.
Welcome to Total War.
Later down the line consider getting the first two Warhammer games because eventually CA will release a free dlc to combine the maps from the other games into one big one, as long as you have bought those games.
In Warhammer 2, it's called Mortal Empries.
I love the framework for the game, personally I’m just waiting for the Mortal Empires update that combines the maps of total war warhammer 1, 2 and 3 and every playable faction and race within into a giant battle royale cluster fuck :)
Also Lizardman gang
Shredder of lustria gang gang
I'm praying one of the chaos factions gets added to the lustria bowl for immortal empires. It has to happen
@@TheTankbus I wonder how many starting positions for different factions will be changed now that the map will be as massive as it seems to be
@@TheTankbus still waiting on chaos to enter the lustria bowl :( they need to give us some more Lords for the chaos gods.
Hey Bricky, if you could make a war hammer faction, what would they be?
Prbly the shining foreheads
It’s Night Lords
I mean we already have answers in 40k and sigmar-ish ossiarc bone reapers aka the bone IRS
Malal
On the issue of information overload one of the most important tools is the province list button in the upper right corner of your screen. It shows you a list of all your provinces with a little hammer next to the ones you can build in. It saves you the trouble of having to zoom around the map looking for provinces to build in.
Hey Bricky, love the video but just wanted to let you know a couple useful things in the game if you're struggling at all.
-Click and holding breath, line, or any other directional spell allows you to choose the direction
-Alt+left click while selecting units moves them in formation
-locking a group causes it to move at the same speed instead of an unlocked or randomly selected units which go as fast as they can and tend to goof up formations
-Holding space shows you where your units are heading which is helpful in huge battles and sieges
The one problem the TW Warhammer games have always had is that coming off the game before it, it's gonna feel a bit... light on the content side. Like, you look at a roster like the High Elves or the Lizardmen and compare it to Kislev or Ogres, it's gonna feel a bit less light just off the amount of extra content the previous game has had. That being said, and with the Forge campaign getting REAL repetitive and kinda annoying after a while imo (as much as i do appreciate the narrative element and effort put in) i can certainly see the foundations for what can be with the combined map and the addition of later races and units. The games been a bit buggy for me personally, the old alt-tab glitch is still there, but i'm definitely excited for whats to come.
does suck that it came out a week before both Witch Queen and Elden Ring though, two games that take priority for me lmao
I think it's great that Elden Ring came out. I have over 800 hours of warhammer 2, bit only after modding it to hell and only mortal empires.
Getting a bit tired of Warhammer 3 without blood, sandbox, or the ability to customize my experience. So playing anything else is great for me.
Witch Queen?
@@Jonsoner Yeah it's all about waiting for the content and patches, people need to be patient with games as you don't just make a game in a click of a finger.
I kinda agree, I almost consider TWW3 to be a demo until the sandbox comes out, that said its one hell of a demo
@@Samm815 expansion for Destiny 2
I think you'd really like Shogun 2, Bricky. It's an older Total War game that takes place in 1600s Japan, very historically authentic. Get to command whole legions of samurai as you try and become the military dictator of a country that's been in civil war for 100 years straight.
Plus it also has a DLC that takes place in the 1860s if you just want to shoot everything with rifles and cannons.
I would build entire armies of cannons in that game because they were so satisfying to shoot and blow things up with. Definitely recommend to Bricky.
Play the Portugese mod
Spam Adenturios and Archebusiers
Man, I love your earnest style of review. I even sat thru an explanation of a series I have played for decades, because your talking makes me happy. I’m sorry you missed the other total war war hammer games, they are all gems.
I would absolutely love if you’d do a faction overview for fantasy like you did for 40k but I know that would take a while which I’m fine with but if it’s too much for you that’s ok too. But if possible please do it it would be awesome to watch.
the pacing and jokes and everything in your videos has really reached an awsome level of quality, it just makes anything interesting id watch one of your videos on pretty much anything
Honestly, your quote of “This is the surface stuff, this is not even scratching the surface.”
You are ABSOLUTELY correct, like holy shit you would need spend so much time covering a faction or two..like so many races.
Bricky: "They're long campaigns."
Me: *Laughs in Immortal Empires*
You made this at the perfect time. Bricky you're da best!!!!!!
what are the damn odds that just yesterday I had the epiphany of going through your vids explaining the races and then checking other vids about it and destroying my sleep schedule consuming Warhammer lore, just so today, as soon as I wake up you come and release a new vid about Warhammer again. It must be destiny telling me to completely sell my soul to this universe.
did you check the adeptus ridiculus podcast as well?
@@payforoxygen I agree checking out adeptus ridiculous is a great way to learn Warhammer lore and it’s also hosted by bricky!
check out the adeptus ridiculous, its bricky's other channel where they chat about warhammer lore
Please give us a update when the plastic crack addiction kicks in.
Tzeentch approves this message
I can't wait for immortal empires. Brickys head is gonna explode when he realizes there are like 14 more fully fleshed out factions each with on average four different campaigns and unique rosters and mechanics for each faction.
Hell yea, gotta love that Mandalore shout out at the end. Great video and honestly the perspective I needed to decide if I wanted to try it because I also have never played a total war game.
The Vampire coast in a nutshell:
Mannfred Von Carstein: You are without a doubt the worst vampire I've ever heard of.
Luthor Harkon: But you *have* heard of me.
This was a really cool review man. It's awesome to see a newcomer to fantasy and the fresh perspective it brings. 😁
Yo bricky. You're gonna love to know this. In total warhammer 2 there's a gamemode called mortal empires that has a huge map with the factions from the first and second game combined. TWarhammer 3 will have the immortal empires that will combine all the 3 games into a single world map.
I started the podcast a couple weeks ago and now I’m on episode 24. I’ve been loving the content both on CZcams and on the podcasts. I hope you can keep up the amazing work. It’s helped me tremendously with me getting into Warhammer nowadays.
Interesting seeing someone's perspective who's never played TW before, its kinda funny, I've never heard people say they think Total War is very complex, there's even a joke around forums and stuff about when people ask for more features or diplomacy options that "its called Total War, not Total Diplomacy", basically meaning that it does its main thing well which are the RT Battles
Glad you like the game and haven't had many major issues, as a LONG time veteran of the series this game is great, its a bit rough around the edges currently, but as this is CA's capstone project I'm confident it wont be long till everyone is saying its the best TW experience ever.

That smile makes me feel questionable things
Something absolutely hilarious about Skarbrand:
The Unholy Manifestations every Daemon faction gets provide you bonuses in some shape or form. But Khorne has one where an enemy army spawns and IMMEDIATLY attacks you. But why? Those manifestations are supposed to HELP you, right?
Well, it's because fighting that battle means more skulls, more money, more map movement, experience, maybe even a magic item.
Yes, Khorne literally dumps people on your location, says "You want some good shit? Here, murder these guys for it." and peaces out.
As a fan of the franchise "Total War:: Warhammer", it was really touching and lovely to see your reaction as "a neophyte" into this... "universe" ?
I was seeing me in you, when i started.
Excellent video, as always !
Cordially.
Now i want Brickys opinion on the Immmortal Empires map that dropped for this game recently.
Im so happy you got a sponssorship for this Bricky!!
Total War is always alot of time investment to even understand let alone play well and given how much you have on your plate all the time im glad you were able to even scratch the surface of the time and enjoyment you can get out of TWW3.
i hope its something you can keep coming back to every now and then and keep chipping away at and having fun for a long time.
Congrats on the sponsor Bricky! You deserve it! I really enjoyed hearing your take on the game being new to the series. Excellent job!
For those wanting a more in depth review of the game. Mandalore gaming did an amazing job
There's a button you can hold while casting directed spells that will let you change the way it's shaped. I think it's alt by default. It can help in cases like at 7:49 to sweep across the whole unit rather than just a chunk. There are a lot of little tricks like that that make things a little easier, but it can take a while to learn/discover them.
Would absolutely love a faction/campaign review series, no matter how long it would take to get an episode out
I haven't watched the full video, nor have I played any of the Total War games, but, this stuff reminds me of the Battle For Middle Earth game they had a long ass time ago, especially when he started talking about the Hero characters.
And I'm for that.
Click and drag to change the direction of certain spells (pretty much all tear shaped, and column spells can be re-adjusted), you can use control groups to keep the formation of a bunch of troops as they charge, and imagine I had a third point to complete the rule of threes.
Amazing review! Awesome to see you in the WHF realm.
Note for all those new players coming to TW; about Single player to Multiplayer.
Just like 98% of RTS games, multiplayer is a completely different game. Micromanagement becomes 10 x more important.. fake charges, hiding units, flanking etc
While SP allows you to make mistakes in battles.
In MP, if you use the wrong unit to charge an enemy unit that can be GG.
In SP, army blob doesnt punish you as much.
MP, troop spread is crucial; you have all your strong units bunched, they can get charged and destroyed in seconds.
Thats just the battles...MP full games makes the Red Wedding blush.
you HAVE to play the skaven when immortal empires or thanquol comes out. its like a 40k faction in a fantasy setting. nukes, automatic weapons, snipers, mortors etc. loads of fun.
good for you bricky! its some tough shit to start. i got in on warhammer WITH total war you know. not in total but thats the passionate side of my following. and im sure me learning table top felt as jumbled as your first attempts. good for you bro!
19:40 there's also a relic called a chainsword that you can get in the realm or Khorne
This game feels like a big expansion for Total Warhammer, the new factions are cool, but there are much more iconic ones in the earlier games. I'm looking forward to when all the factions are brought together into one world with all the quality of life improvements and new features.
Glad you loved the one Daemon army in Skarbrand :D, he's so much fun.
Bricky: “this is a bit much”
Me: “Have you seen Immortal empires?”
18:20 Yeah, big issue for big 4X strategy games is that, if I stop playing halfway through for a while, I'll forget most of what I'd done and just restart from the beginning.
9:47 ah, yes... Terminalmontage
Im convinced...it actually seems pretty dope! great vid bricky, always 10/10 content bro.
Bricky, you will see the nurgle legendary in the dark imperium trilogy(40k novels) where ku'gath is wallowing in self pity and depression
Oh man, that cinematic at 00:30 is from Mark of Chaos, pretty fuckin solid Warhammer RTS from way back. Shut was my childhood.
I was in the exact same situation like you when it came to Warhammer Fantasy at first. I wasn't against it, but wasn't with it. Then, Mandalore did a review of Total War Warhammer 2 and it looked cool, but it still took a few more months before I bought it.
Many, many hours later, I must admit that I think I like Warhammer Fantasy a bit more overall than 40k. And I have both Vermintide and Total War to thank for that. Both games characters, gameplay and a lot of cool visuals and designs just charmed me beyond belief. Very happy to hear you enjoyed your time with Warhammer 3.
I think that despite the surface similarities, both settings have very different strong suits. Fantasy is much less overtly "everything is shit," there's at least a little room for optimism despite the constant war and threat of Chaos cults and ratman swarms, but because the setting isn't at a galactic scale the stakes are more comprehensible and something doesn't have to be capable of depopulating a hundred planets before the other factions sit up and take notice.
Bricky just remember Grandfather Nurgal loves you very much especially when you use his great unclean one's to spread his loving pestilence to the world.
I'm a huge Total War fan so I'm going to leave you with something that took me over 8 months to realize in TWII. If you hold down the placement button on a cone-based spell, you can change the direction of the cone to line it up better.
Glad you are enjoying the game, my friend! I've been playing TW games for a long time and I am def having a good time. Really looking forward to the Immortal Empires update though, the content of all three games in the trilogy on one map is something you can't miss!
1:55 I DID NOT NEED THAT SPIT TAKE
Well played, Bricky
@Bricky what's the story wishbone" your editor is a goat! Brought back my childhood!
My first Warhammer experience was the original Dawn of War, but Warhammer Online was what got me into Warhammer Fantasy and I loved it just as much. Especially the orcs. I'm glad you're enjoying this, and you should definitely pick up the first two if you wanna give da Boyz a spin.
Also, congrats on the sponsorship!
I was not gonna try this at 1st but after watching this I'm gonna have to give it a go
Wait until mortal empires shows up in a years time and we get the other 69 factions across 15 different races.
That was one of my favourite ad intros yet
please make more of it bricky your doing awesome
17:39 But ya'know... multiple armies of miniatures aint cheap!
1:55 Only hell.. I totally burst out my water....

That cheeky smile at the start of the sponsorship, love Bricky
Already a fan; Already play and own all three games; watching and liking just for Bricky, super happy your popping off dude and love every single Adeptus Ridiculous episode and fingers crossed you will do a similar podcast for either fantasy or age of sigmar who knows

Man I love brickys videos
I can’t wait for Immortal Empire cause then Bricky is going to have fun learning of all factions from the other games and the giant map he’s been playing in is about to double in size and all the skull for the throne.
man, i could listen to you talk about rocks and it would be interesting :D
i love your humor
4:11 he almost sounds like Arnold Schwarzenegger hahahaha
hey Bricky, give Rimworld a try, i think you will really enjoy it, its right up your alley
Actually Total War is what introduced me to Warhammer and subsequently 40k as I have been a fan of their games since Total War: Medieval 2. I’ve played several games over the years and Warhammer has been by far the best. It’s about time I see you in on it :>
Really refreshing seeing someone experience this great franchise for the first time. And yeah Khorne is the best haha!
Hey bricky. You should load up a custom battle and put a few great unclean ones in combat with some melee infantry and zoom in. Trust me :)
“Nurgle wants to make bear stew, Slaneesh wants the soul, and Khorne wants the skull.” Tzeentch probably just wants the others not to have it.
Kairos wants the eyes
The cabinet of shame in the back is beautiful lol
Try custom battle to watch some big monsters fight eachother. They actually have specific animations! Enjoy
"This video is sponsored by Total War Warhammer 3" Bricky's done it now
Bricky,
I think you are really going to enjoy Total War Warhammer 3 and the TWW series as a whole when Immortal Empires, a bigger combined map, comes by connecting all the TWW games and factions together into the biggest sandbox yet.
maybe one day my dream of Bricky making a every warhammer fantasy faction video that would be pretty amazing.
love all total war games playing them since total war medieval 2 - can you do a review on galactic civilization 3 with all its dlc and expansion please
17:02 bro the bear is bullying the fat guy
00:18 maybe even, ADEPTUS RIDICULOUS?!
I bought warhammer 2 last year when it was on sale, wanted to see what the fuzz was about, initially didnt think i'd like it too much but i stuck with it and gave it a chance.
A year later there is sitting 1100 hours of gameplay on my steampage. I'm both ashamed and amazed at how much i played this game, it is really good.
And to top that off it got me into warhammer fantasy lore, which is... Well. Its warhammer lore. Its stupid, but awesome.
A friend of mine did some Nurgle voice acting. I’ve shared your video with him. Because I think he’s Mobility Chair Guy 😊
Bricky’s gonna have super overload if he ever plays the combined map from all 3 games lol
