There are some tunes, Sonny boy Williamson made for checker label that Little Water can’t touch and there are some tunes little Walter on checker label that Sonnyboy can’t touch, I seen Little Water twice once in 59, and once in 62 what memories😎 I’m 80 & still hep
Important point.
What was the vibe in the room seeing Little Walter play live? That must've felt amazing!
Awesome. Thanks for sharing your story old timer
King on hamonica and singing. Saw him in person 1965. And Muddy Waters. GOLD.
I remember my grandfather listening to him but if you see him in person how old are you because I am 60

Well ,Magareth Im 75 this year still look like a boy on drums. Best wishes from john.
Lucky you. That was a treat.
@@cobrastrikesagain6385 Please tell more
The real blues. I loved listening to this man, along with Howlin'Wolf, Muddy Waters, John Lee Hooker and so many others back in the 60s.
Amazing harp and voice Sonny was amazing!!
Am I the only one to spot Davey Graham here? In 1963. An overused term - awesome.
When I was a boy, only a thing I would be liked to do, to play the harmonica like Sonny Boy Williamson. The greatest Master!
Sonny may be gone but he isn't forgotten. One of the best harp players the world ever knew. What a sound and what a great voice he had. Heaven is jamming with him and I bet Ray Charles is not too far away and they are playing and singing together!
❤don’t stop telling your friends and family about these heroes of the blues keep it alive xxx
Maybe remove the ads, that should work. I don’t fkn get it. There all gone who is benefiting from this
This guy is simply the best harmonica player ever.
😉💥If anyone else is watching and thought that you knew the Blues, then best be seated because the realist taste of blues have just captured you too! 😮 😢 🤣
Is no one talking about the voice, the range, depth, whatever music people call it, phenomenal !
Don't start me to talkin, I'll tell everything I know...
It's all we talk about, he had it in spades
Smoke in the City.
Its called blues music
Любимый мой музыкант стиля блюэ"гармоника" и "чикаго блюз".Обожаю этот стиль блюз.
Сони молодец. Царствие небесное земля пухом тебе великий блюзмэн
Just can't spend a day at work without listening to this.
Sonny Boy Williamson, simply brilliant
Like Count Basie, every tune Sonny Boy ever played became magically mellow and funky and irresistibly foot-tapping.
He's got the soul of the blues and his performance it's the personification of the excellence in the music. He was really a phenomenal master.
Sonny Boy Williamson, a real master of the harmonica blues! He’s my inspiration to play the harmonica. I actually found out what key of harmonica he uses in this video! Is key of F :) thanks Sonny Boy Williamson for the music.
An Harp in the key of F? Wow... i used to think that he play an harp in the key of D in this video! Great! P.S. sorry for my bad english
Actually its a Bb harmonica played second position which is the key of F
The Rocking Dead I don’t think is a Bb harp I mean the harmonica is sound Is bright like a F harp more than the Bb harp is darker. I would say, I tried the triplets solo he did on the F harp and it was so accurate.
The Rocking Dead the second position is in C he plays a harp in F
@@brankobergstrandmusic Did you actually tried playing it with a Bb harmonica in the second position(Cross harp/melodyan)?
And you wrong 2nd position is Not C but F!
Bb played 1st position(straight harp) is Bb
Bb played 2nd position(cross harp/Melodyan) is F !
Go look it up
Sonny Boy - I LOVE THIS GIANT, THIS MASTER. He's my first Blues Idol !!
I was born in 1986, but when I listen to this legend I feel like I was born in 1886. A man born well after my time..
i’m born1984 from france i m enjoying his musics
Brilliant.....been a fan for years....No one better!!!!!
У "старых" блюзменов инструмент был частью мысли, сердца, души и тела... Сонни Бой яркий пример. Низкий поклон таланту! Снимаю шляпу как говорится. Сейчас одна коммерция. Блюз ушёл вместе с этими людьми.
The blues left with these people, agree. Now is like progressive blues if I might say.
86 baby and I swear I love this I can listen to this all day way better then rap
this is a top performance from a blues icon the BOSS
Sonny Boy Williamson one of the great blues men without a doubt, that looks like Davy Graham in the background playing guitar
It does! Another legend accompanying a Blues legend.
Brancos negros todos juntos pela musica, essa era uma época difícil ... Black whites all together for music
Absolutely amazing artistry and gentle play of harmonica plus those vocals alongside with ol' time blues. Golden gate to blissful day
Man, this guy got style. I ❤️ watching his performance. He amazes me everytime. Daddy comming home.😊😊
Thanks for posting! My uncle told me Sonny Boy Williams, Muddy Waters, Howlin Wolf and many more would stop by his fathers/my grand dads Juke joint/Bar in Mississippi...where they made corn whisky. He said he actually met them (the above names) and plenty others. Talk about history. I guess this is why I LOVE Blues music...from long time.
WOW! 😲
Sonny Boy the best ever !!!!!!

5 hurtin souls gave this wondeeful piece of Art a thumbs down. Makes me afraid of what else they're capable of. Look out.. anything is possible apparently...
They aren't fit to be human beings. If this isn't the best of Blues artistry ever nothing is!
WORLDS GREATEST. LOVED HIS BLUES
Mr Sonny Boy Wiliamson inspired me long ago and thats how i learnd to play the harmonica
Yes definitely the greatest harmonica player in the world not just blues but otherwise as well,he can chew, bite & make the harmonica talk, one of the finest blues singer as well, real treat to hear him perform
Not only hear him -- but SEE him. I had vinyl albums of his, and now have CZcams and can see him perform. Thank you for these wonderful videos, and for valuing and presenting the underappreciated blues music. 🎵
Sonny Bioy was the first genuine Bluesmen I saw live at the Marquee Blues Club in Soho, London, and I have been a Blues fan accross the board ever since.
Man I've never seen this performance before. Absolutely love it! 🎶

Brilliant!!!!!
Pianist is great as well
phenomenal
what a song !
thanks to post it
Pas la peine de revenir sur ce que tous les groupes anglais des 60's doivent à tout ce blues qu'ils ont aussi propulsé et remis au goût du jour en mettant fin au "rockabilly" blanc..
Brilliant :)
Brilliant happy I have it on Cd this is great music.
O sonny boy Como sempre fantástico! Mas com essa banda fica fácil também hahahaha... O pianista segura tudo! muito bom cara!
Words that come from
The sound of living. Good stuff
In the blues shuffle Sonny Boy was the Master!
I think that it is so wierd that there are very cool tunes playing, by super cool dude and everyone sitting around looks bored. "Whats up with that"! 😎
@8 Bit Hero if you think that it looks like they were grooving, and being "respectful"rock on buddy
@@jimmydjimmyd1349 This was a UK TV folk music show. People sat and listened (Sonny Boy had NEVER appeared in the UK before, he was SOMETHING!) and showed their appreciation at the end of a number.
I could listen to him all days of my life🔥😵
Smooth and a great performance
The band didn't know the progression to Don't Start Me Talkin', and Sonny Boy just rolled with it.
Exactly
Yup. They didn't know the stops. The best version is the Chess version with Muddy Waters, Jimmy Rogers, Willie Dixon, Otis Spann and Fred Below.
Priceless footage of the absolute greatest mouth harp player who has ever lived!
Alguem aqui no brasil!!! Que tambem curte blues??? E especial esse fenômeno eterno sanny!
Sempre meu caro

Simplemente ueno
This guy is the fkn man. You can't mess with Sonny
Super Star❤❤❤❤❤❤
Великий Человек браво
My Grandmother's favorite!!!
Une voix d'or.
Musicianship and time; he put the standards and are very high for any follower! Probably the best, for me yes, blues harmonica player in time, but he is among the few, of any kind of music, that exceeds the limits of the kind of music he use to play. It was known that he didn't have any problem of jumping on the stage to play, with, for example Dexter Gordon! The most musical of all!
What?! My favorite blues musician Sonny Boy Williamson on harmonica played with my favorite jazz musician on saxophone!? I saw the Sophisticated Giant play many times, but never Sonny Boy. Do you know when and where, and if it was taped or filmed? There's an album of Sonny Boy Williamson playing with The Yardbirds.
@@marymichael1211 It happened in Milan with Gordon, I don't know when, for sure in '60s. There is also an album with the Animals, same period in UK, another one with Brian Auger, Jimmy Page, Joe Harriot, Alan Skidmore and others, a jam session in studio, just before leaving UK for USA for the last time, after some months he passed away. Especially in the album you can see his skills in playing with jazz musicians, it's one of my favorite albums. Before passing away he was meeting with "The Band", social meetings in the US South. He has been a great influence, same as Muddy Waters, for the young British musicians. These two paved the way for the rock stars of '60s in England. The album with Yardbirds, is a real masterpiece.
Thank you so much for all of this information. I saw Dexter Gordon play a few times at Keystone Korner in San Francisco after he returned to America. At the end of the set the 6'5" Sophisticated Giant would take a deep bow and extend his saxophone lying lengthwise out in front of him. I never had the opportunity to see Sonny Boy in person nor at all playing until gratefully the technology to see videos. I know that the blues, especially Muddy Waters, was an influence on British rock but I didn't know that Sonny Boy travelled around and played with so many, and jazz and Dexter Gordon! Each had such a different and distinctive mesmerizing musicality, sophisticated style, and classy character that it would be a unique experience to hear and see them together playing live. I'll just have to imagine it, and enjoy what is available. Thanks again. 🎶✨
sonny boy is my god ♥
Um gênio
There are good and then there's the best.
you think you heard it all.......and then you run into this.......the authentic.........
2024 and still listening and enjoying it
Bro 2024 LSD makes this gasoline ASF I hope the people wat hing really understand the talent they were witnessing
Soulful harp! Heard some great players: Kim Wilson, Norton Buffalo etc. but Sonny was tops.
サニーは最高 マジで
Amazing how he came alive once he got at it
R. I. P. Sonnyboy
Que lastima que no hay otro genio como este hoy en dÍa.
Only social media crap
Tá doido os caras boa bons eram todos desta época, hoje é esta porcaria de funk brasileiro,um sertanejo funk,
The laid-back expressiveness of his voice. The easy warm phrasing without fanfare but so stuffed with feeling. The delivery just sucks me in. I'm moved!!
That is Mr. Rice Miller, right after some Years untill taken his career name Sonny Bioy Willianson II, in a great footstage performance.
I love how no one's getting down to this stuff in the background. Haha if I was there you'd be able to puck me out no problem!😂
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Música de verdade
It's the legendary Davey Graham on guitar, the man who invented DADGAD tuning!
Imagine performing to an audience of people who aren't even tapping a foot....
❤️
Please, DVD/Blue Ray release of this!!
