  • On Day 2 of Navaratri, Vidushi Aishwarya Vidhya Raghunath and I come to your Pooja/Golu with a grand composition of Sri Muttuswamy Deekshitar in the Raga Vegavahini in Misra Jhampa. A classic Brinda-Mukta school treasure that Vidwan Tiruvarur Girish was kind enough to share with me almost a decade ago, this is not an easy compostion to master. Thanks to some audio delays, we were able to practise this several times (and I mean several times 😆 ) to ensure that we were one with the Tanpuras (aren’t they both beautiful btw?) I wish there was a way to describe the vibration in the hall when we were singing this beauty- these are moments that I will cherish forever. Infinite thanks to Aishwarya for taking the time to come home and share her rock solid Patantharam with me. And many thanks to my brother, Shankara Prasad Santhanagopalan (Meera Santhanagopalan) for his patience with the audio.
In my humble opinion, these are compositions to be treasured and celeberated. Singing, listening to these compositions give us that much needed equipoiose in thought, actions and Prana.

Also I know by how much a simple electronic thampoora and an electronic thabla can enhance a song. I have blogged 50 out of the 200+ compositions of my paternal grandfather with the help of my siblings. You may take a look and decide for yourself whether or not the percussion instrument has enhanced the songs.
All these songs were recorded by my sisters in their home located in a busy street in Chennai. Welcome to the world of simple but soul stirring compositions of Sree. HaridAsa nArAyaNan. haridasanarayanan.wordpress.com/

@@visalakshik.raman.6278 Madam, Sorry, you have mistaken. What I simply meant was, a rendition with Percussion Score is common and a normal routine that we hear in every concert Whereas, a vocal rendition without any percussion score is a rare one, very special and makes the ambience so beautiful and we could enjoy the singer's rendition so pointedly. Tks for yr detailed response.
