Morticed lock In Cabinet drawer

A cabinet riser I built needed locking drawers, and needed to match the antique aesthetic of the customers home. So a traditional mortice lock fit the bill. I was able to use some red oak that I milled myself from 3 years ago. This was a fun, hand tool intensive way to get the job done. the push to open drawer slides really helped to clean up the face of the drawer and helped to highlight the continuous gran across the face.

What are you dipping the screws into?

Paste wax. Helps them thread easier so I'm less likely to strip the head of the screw.
