Chaos Card - The Complete Guide (The Binding of Isaac: Afterbirth+)

- Disclaimer: This video was made during the Afterbirth+ era, but nothing major about the unlock method or usage of Chaos Card appears to have changed in Repentance. Notably, however, you *can't use 1 throw to kill both stages of Hush anymore*. You'll need to either kill phase 1 normally, or use 2 cards.
Once upon a time, I tried googling "tboi how to use chaos card" and all I got were fails and full, long runs - not very convenient for learning how to use it!
So I decided to change that. This one covers pretty much everything. I hope.

EDIT: Looks like I was not entirely correct about how Chaos Card behaves VS Delirium - thanks to @Sneaky Raven and a bit of testing, I found out that a perfectly aligned Chaos Card thrown through Larry Jr.'s "butt" to his head will indeed leave the boss at nearly 0 hp (weirdly enough, not killing Delirium outright though - you will need to do some minimal damage to finish him off yourself).
You can also kill off individual segments of Larry Jr.'s tail, although this will not leave him at nearly 0 hp if you don't remove all of them at once it seems.
Additionally, you can destroy individual "parts" of multi-entity bosses such as killing 1 of the "Sisters Vis" bosses, although this appears pretty useless because they will respawn if you let Delirium summon them again, and it does not seem possible to bring the boss down to nearly 0 hp using this method.
I assume the reason it works against Larry Jr. specifically is because he is programmed to die if the only remaining living part of him is the head (i.e., all of his tail segments are gone).
This is pretty much certainly a bug though, so expect it to be fixed in Repentance or some other patch in the future.

How does deep pockets make you able to use 2 chaos cards in a room? I don’t get it.
Edit: someone else wrote a comment here I just read that said it used to be able to allow you to hold two pills/2 cards at once. It seems between that and what the person wrote just above me here, this video is a little out of date from changes. Oh well. Still a lot of good info here!
Btw, you can insta-kill delirium, just you need to hit right form
Which form specifically? I was not able to kill him regardless of which form I hit with Chaos Card, but perhaps I missed something.
From what i remember, worm form if you hit it's tail segment. It can be fixed, but that's how i was killed him

Delirium can turn into every "worm" boss in the game, so do you mean:
Larry Jr.?
The Hollow?
Pin?
The Frail?
Chub?
C.H.A.D.?
Carrion Queen?
Scolex?
I'm bad at remembering names. That worm, which just slides on ground and which you can split. You can destroy it's tail to delirium too, and hitting that segment of tail can instakill

Tried to use chaos card on hush (playing as the lost) and this video helped how to properly do it, unfortunately stupid me managed to fail killing the 2nd phase hush lmao

Delirium can be killed but he has to be larry jr and hit his other segment(might work with hallowed i think)

Hah, I'm glad you appreciate it! I initially only planned to make this a 10s clip (basically just the intro of the final version), but I decided people might wanna know more.
All in all, the recording took about 4-5 hours and the editing about 15h, which is longer than any other video project I've worked on so far.

I've tried to search a lot of times a good guide on what useful unlockables do i need to be looking for, and how to get them. (For example , I just got Jera after challenge 2)
So a guide for those would be really helpful I think for the community.

This video is very helpful! I just found Gideon my first time to alt path after I got Chaos Card first floor. However, I always forget that you throw the card in the direction of your movement and not your shooting direction so I missed. I don’t think I will make that mistake again!
i got a chaos card and a gideon fight on the same floor and i hit him and it did the animation and everything but then just decided not to spawn the trapdoor. the only reason i can think of is because it was a challenge and the gideon room is considered an item room, but it feels like a stretch. either way it makes me mad that my one shot at doing it was eaten by the game being dumb

Hey dude, just a reminder in repentance the beast is like delirium and hush was tweaked so that phase 2 doesn’t die straight away like in ab+

Actually, Delirium can get killed with chaos card. It’s just that it only works on one or two forms. The one I know is Larry jr.

I came to this tutorial before mega satan boss beacause i was playing lost for godhead and i finally fucking Got it. I didin't want to miss the most easiest shots in the world. I had blank card too.

Good for you, because it doesn't! You need to throw it in a specific way so that it passes through both forms within 1 throw. Not very hard, you should try it the next chance you get.
