Berbatov is an absolute football legend. Such an inspirational soccer player. Most calm and cool striker ever. Composure on the pitch unmatched. He was one of a kind with his skills, talent and intelligence. Miss his style so much. Loved his career. Easily one of the most influential sport idols in my childhood I always looked up to him. Performances, goals and assists from him were a thing of beauty. I wonder how nervous defenders were facing against him before matches because he was so good, clever and amazing at finishing in the frontline. Must have been absolutely terrifying for them knowing they had to deal with Berbatov.

As a utd fan, hearing him talk about being dropped for the 2011 CL final really shows how mature he is as a person - "of course I'm disappointed and angry, but there was no issues with the manager" - the level of empathy he has for the manager's impossible decision, even with his own disappointment, and most importantly being able to talk about the disappointment without simply disengaging - just proves he had the character to play for a big club. Really gotta love and respect the man.

Torres was great but Berbatov was on another level. He was like a magician and a wizard on the pitch while Torres was sometimes inconsistent and out of form especially his Chelsea and later on Atlético Madrid era. His best seasons were easily early Liverpool (first three seasons). But both world class and outstanding strikers for sure nobody can deny that. I used to admire Torres a lot too despite being a Man Utd fan because he was such a good and a clever finisher and good with the ball at his feet. But Berbatov is easily my favorite soccer player of all time. So incredibly talented, skillful and was always super faithful and loyal to Man Utd, Tottenham and Bayern Leverkusen. Very underrated. What confuses me about the end if his career at United is that he never stopped being able to score goals, coming off the bench always in the 11/12 season and scoring and getting golden boot in 10/11 season so what exactly was Fergie thinking in not playing him in the UCL final or as a more regular starter. I just don't get it

The only place he ever got criticised for his style was at man utd, the club with the clueless fans who just rate fast players who pretend to be working hard. Those same fans also expected a 35 year old Ibra to be running channels and comparing him to Rashford and martial. I believe even Zidane will not have been understood at man United as that club isn't for the artists of the game.
