      i have a list
there’s another version of this same song! officially released, guerrilla flag version. i feel like you’d enjoy it! (it’s this song but with more rock influence)
here’s my recommendations for ateez songs!
      1. halazia (it’s the release that came after guerrilla)
      2. bouncy
      3. crazy form (their latest release)
      4. dune (this is a b-side, so no music video :[ same album as bouncy)
      5. the ring (same album as guerrilla!) - there’s a live performance on youtube of this one. ripped straight from the 2022 tour dvd, you’d dig this as well i think!
i think you’ll really like ateez, they’re such a cool group!

The also just preformed this song at Coachella (12 April 2024 and they will preform there again on 19 April 2024)
There is something called the Ateez lore and most all of their title tracks since their debut are linked to a story / think of a movie
Also Hong Joong (the leader/dad of the group- referred to as the Captain, cause Ateez are Pirates) did a cover of Linkin Park - a lot of people were very impressed by it!
Also San did a dance cover of "Worriors" by Imagine Dragons that is also pretty amazing.

Ateez’s charm is their theatrical approach to their music, they have a storyline with elements of rebellion and alternate realities that ties all their releases together! Even though i’ve been a kpop fan for years now no one could catch my eye like ateez, their ability to perform live is insane, to the point where they’re called the best in terms of stage presence (they were in fact the first and only boy group to be invited to perform at coachella). Being a fan of theirs is so fun because they can never do anything the normal way, they always make fans guess what’s coming next with clues hidden EVERYWHERE, always to tie it back to their storyline!

you are completely right with the orwell imagery! guerrilla is based on their storyline that has a very similar vibe with 1984, like an oppressive government that watches your every move. except at least in ateez’s world, this place is called “strictland,” where any form of creative expression is banned (hence the big speakers that ateez are sneakily rigging). ateez are fighting back this creative ban with loud expressive music to “wake up” the people.
and in addition, ateez have an EXTREMELY extensive (and somewhat confusing because it was not released in a way that was meant for fans to piece together easily) storyline involving oppressive governments, inter-dimensional time travel, etc. hope you have fun watching more of them! their songs are very experimental.
some things i rec (i prefer a lot of ‘side tracks’ compared to title track songs sometimes):
numb (cover of linkin park by hongjoong, the leader of ateez)
    arriba
    halazia
    we know
and you should definitely watch their coachella performance! totally fine if u do it in ur own time too, it’s just a must-see! they performed with a live-band and guerrilla was SICK. the break the wall chant was heard across the festival (although on the official recordings its subdued due to coachella turning down audience for the sake of hearing the artists well). welcome to the ateez journey!

Since you mentioned Linkin Park, Ateez's captain Hongjoong did a cover of Numb that was amazing! It's definitely worth a look.

  • @suebee0619
    @suebee0619 Před 2 měsíci +26

I'm a casual listener of theirs, but I've really enjoyed what I've heard from the group. They make these unexpected choices with their music that keeps things interesting. I lucked into an inexpensive seat when they played 15 minutes away from me at a friend's urging and I loved it. Plus the Atinys in the same area as me were happy to clue me in to some things, which is always great. They had a Coachella set this weekend and they absolutely killed it, especially the opening. They're from a small company, which I appreciate, and seem like pretty good guys in general. A personal favorite of mine is Halazia.
In terms of what's happening in the video, they have a kind of anarchist storyline happening, so their videos tend to link together (thus the final scene). I know nothing about it other than it exists, but it makes for some very cool visuals in their MVs.

the fact that it gave you george orwell vibes is so on point ! their lore is based on dystopia, multi-dimensions and alter egos. it's really interesting, though a bit extensive (love that for me!!)
they performed this song at coachella recently at the sahara stage and you could hear people screaming "break the wall" all the way from the main stage - it's across the whole place !! ateez's fans (called atiny = pronounced as 'a' + 'tiny' from the word des*tiny*) have this tradition of screaming as loud as they can during this part. their live performances are honestly amazing.
another mv that has crazy awesome imagery would be "halazia" I would love to see you react to that !

You definitely have to watch Guerrilla's live performance because it's extreme, especially when everyone in the stadium is screaming "break the wall". Ateez 'Halazia' comes after this one. but you might want to check out their earlier stuff first. A lot of their mvs follow a storyline. I haven’t even watched the video yet but I’m so excited you’re checking out ATEEZ!! I’ve loved watching your kpop journey so far. ATEEZ are right up your alley for sure. They debuted in 2018 under KQ entertainment and are a self-produced group. Last weekend and this upcoming weekend they are performing at Coachella as well! They have an entire storyline behind all of their music and the lore is really cool if you want to look more into that. I recommend checking out Halazia, Bouncy, and Say My Name for title tracks, but i could genuinely recommend you like all of their b-sides too 😂 some recent b-sides they have music videos for are It’s You and MATZ - I particularly think you’d like MATZ since you’re a metal head!
Honestly I think you’d vibe with the majority of their music, so you could pick a random song and I would bet you’d like it. I hope this was helpful!! Can’t wait to keep watching you discover more of what k-pop has to offer! 😁

I am 39,y.o, 1st and 2nd gen kpop fan for years. My old kpop group is CNBlue and Turbo. Then I stop with Kpop since 2012-2013 and focus on Kdrama and variety show. Then one day, I watch Immortal Song of my other's singer - Kim Jong Kook (1st gen Kpop singer) - a competition for singer rearrange the music of old song and sing it live - and ATEEZ won the show. They catch my attention. Their concept, their powerful stage presence. They are something different.
If you want to start your ATEEZ journey, I suggest you start with their old song - debut song - PIRATE KING and TREASURE to the newest song , CRAZY FORM. from there you can see the changes and improvement of their mv and music.

Ateez are performance masters, they are renowned for their dancing and stage presence! ( Just for infor, Ateez performed performing at the Coachella last Friday and they will perform again on Friday this week it means after two days, btw they're the first fourth-generation boys band to perform there!) They're a group full of talent, entertainment, competition, love, .... etc. I hope you'll check out more from them, their albums have all types of genres like hip hop, rock, wave, ballads...etc. They're my favorite band of all the bands I've ever known. (I'd just like to mention that this group, besides their amazing dancing, crazy theatrical performances and so much more, they have fantasy voices. We have Jongho the maknae (the Youngest) and for me he's one of the kings of the vocal in the entire K-pop!! You'll know how they are when you get to know them more!) some songs that I recommend, Wonderland, halazia, hala hala, win, wave, inception, answer, bouncy, crazy form and say my name. They have also a storyline, so you'll often see some endings in their video. Their concept is pirates and that's all what I can say because for me it's hard to understand even though I watched many videos that explain 😭 but still I'm interested cause it's soo interesting and mysterious.
Lastly, their fandom called Atiny it's a combination of ateez + destiny...! As I said you'll know them more when you get to know them more!!
That BREAK THE WALL at the end is soooo iconic chant in kpop. It's known for screaming your lungs out..

ATEEZ is the absolute best!! Please continue reacting to them!! Their music is unique and distinct to themselves; while they do have some slower songs, most of their music is upbeat and they use a lot of metal elements which wasn’t recieved well by most Kpop fans. It took ATEEZ a very long time to get to where they currently are and they are extremely humble about it. People constantly ask them if they are considering on changing their music style to fit a broader audience yet their leader (Hongjoong🐿️) adamantly refused saying that they will never change their music style to fit the preference of the general public which I think as an artist is extremely noble considering they come from a very small company. loved that you recognized the reference to 1789 by orwell. ateez has da lore bby. basically they are in a dystopian futuristic where everything is controlled, even the slightest emotion is forbidden. you should check halazia, bouncy, wonderland, but with their live stages, they are know as master performance. they are not from a big company. Atz is $5 and a dream 💪❤ thanks to reacted to them 💕

Ahhhh!!! So, so excited that you finally did ATEEZ and loved it!! Most of the other comments have already touched on great recommendations (I say HALA and Halazia next) but there’s also a guide that would be great for you to watch the 2023 version from All The Kennys. And ATEEZ has their own lore too! Guerrilla was basically them trying to liberate the citizens of Strictland (a corrupt government has controlled its citizens outlawing expression and emotion). ATEEZ are time-traveling pirates who have taken on the mission of bringing back music and dance. And they just made history as the first KPop male group to play Coachella! Hope you love them as much as all of us ATINY do!!

You should absolutely check out more ATEEZ, i recommend Halazia, and their older stuff like Say My Name, Hala Hala, and Answer to start with but they've been pretty busy these last five years so theres tons to check out! Thanks for watching Guerilla glad you enjoyed it so much!!

Glad to see new ppl loving our Boys, thank u for reacting to my Ult (fave ever lol) Group!
I don't think if you've reacted to more of them (yet) but hopefully this helps. Take your time, this Group has a lot of lore and information.
The fandom name is Atiny (Destiny and Ateez combined) Ateez is prounounced like 80s but they stand for everything A to Z.
They come from a small company and are basically legends to the upcoming groups in k-pop. Even though, they are young themselves. They have only been in the industry for five years and have changed the game.
There's 8 members and ALL are incredible Performers, vocalists/rappers & dancers. They are called the "Standard of Performance in K-pop". There's only 2 English Speakers (they are still Korean), but the members try to learn English.
Notes for the Storyline: Halazia (see MV Hala and Halazia) is the aftermath of Guerilla. In the song Guerilla, the song that is meant to break everyone out of the evil guys mind control, in a world where art n music arent allowed. So they literally start Guerilla Warfare & BREAK THE WALL lol. But they dont win in Guerilla n have to inspire hope again with Halazia.
Letting others know that they can they can have their Hearts Awakened, Live Alive & Be the Light (or Halazia- Zia means light) even in dark times. See their song Hala Hala too.
They debuted with the Song Pirate King and have a Pirate/Anarchist vibes lol. They still have a bit of the Pirate Concept thrown in (with songs like Horizon, Win, Don't Stop MV n others), but it's more modern n futuristic rebellion freedom fighters. Ateez uses each album to tell a message or a story, whether it be about your struggles, mental health, facing your fears, achieving your dreams, being different in a world where that's not allowed, Ateez has everything A to Z lol.
That's all I'm gonna tease for now cause i find it fun going through the lore myself.
Next thing to note, they write and have producing credits for their Music. Also Ateez will be performing at Coachella for the 19th of April! So you can look out for that or watch their last Friday performance which has been uploaded to CZcams. It was insanly fun and a great look at how Crazy they are on stage.
Lastly, thanks for taking our suggestions. I think i commented a ton about reacting to Guerilla cause it'll be more in your taste.
    From Caribbean Atiny.

Hongjoong said he was inspired for the scream from Limp Bizkit!
The GUERILLA imagery on the buildings is straight out of Metropolis (from 1927). Yes to George Orwell too. The TLDR here is that they are in a world where feelings, art, and expression are outlawed. Everyone is controlled by the government and they are working to wake everyone up and invoke feelings and emotion with the power of music (hence the speakers). The kid is one of the kids at the end is one of the people they woke up. Halazia is the follow up from Guerilla, told from the perspective of the people who ATEEZ have successfully woken up, and it is honestly one of the most beautiful and evocative MV's I have ever seen.
Also, if you find concert clips (and also the Coachella clips) of this song, the fans are screaming BREAK THE WALL so loud, like you could hear it from outside of venues, lmao! It's the BEST.

omg yes!!! I've recommended it to you as well, knew you'd like it!!! They have a lot of nostalgic yet modern sounding songs, the synths! But what other ppl will probably tell you: their true strength is performance, they go SO hard. Depending if you want to go deeper into their experimental side I recommend Halazia, or a little more fun and braggadocious then Bouncy!

ATEEZ's last album made it to #2 on the UK chart (I believe BTS is the only other Kpop Boy Group to make it into the top ten) and #1 on America's Billboard 200. As others have mentioned, this week they performed at Coachella, one of the largest and most popular music festivals in the world.
I love this whole album. Their main vocalist really leans into rock-style vocals, and the next in the series really reminds me of a modern take on Queen with its dark melodies and interesting harmonies (I can't say enough about This World, Dune, and Wake Up).
Subbed to see your ATEEZ journey. If you like Guerrilla, you may also like xikers' We Don't Stop.

There's a thing called kcon that takes place in various cities around the world and at Kcon LA 2023 they had tens of thousands of people screaming 'Break the Wall' even if they weren't ateez stans (known as Atiny, which is the mix of Ateez and Destiny). It was so loud they couldn't hear their in ear monitors feeding the music and had to go on muscle memory to keep the choreography right. At one event in Madrid that was similar to Kcon (or another kcon event, I can't remember now) the crowd was so loud and bouncing around so much the nearby seismic recording device indicated an earthquake and put the city emergency services on high alert. It's really cathartic to scream, surprisingly!
