- Relocating to the Canary Islands or Spain in general can be a hassle if your a non-EU citizen. some of you have asked me ways of moving to Spain from the U.S. I hope I'm able to answer all your questions in this video. If not, let me know in the comments

Feel free to ask me any more questions about relocation or if I need to clarify anything.
I'm an EU citizen and I would love to try staying there for a year maximum. I just want something to do there though so I can make friends. Either work, or Spanish courses, etc. Is that easy to fix? And is it expensive? Thanks :)
@@Jordan-xg4pn Its very cheap compared to other countries and other parts of Spain. I was very surprised. It's also very easy to save money. Jobs really depends on what type of work you are looking for. Here the tourist and teaching sectors offer the most opportunities.
@@Kaisforeignadventures My English is really good, and most people think I'm native American when I speak. I also have a bachelor's, but in Politics 😅. From where could I look for more information to try out the English teaching profession?
@@Jordan-xg4pn I made a few videos and added a lot of information and resources in the description boxes of those videos. Check out the play list here. They explain everything you need to know 😃.

I am from Canarias and moved many years ago to the USA, I love to see the islands through your eyes!
I did a video awhile back talking about Fuerteventura. Moving here was the best decision I've ever made. I love it ☺️
@@Kaisforeignadventures I watch it, and I love it.
Hello Kai. This is an awesome video. Also, does buying a house or putting a % of down payment on a house help you stay there as a resident? I have heard a lot of things about living there but Brexit has me in question. Could you PLEASE do a video based on Brexit? That’s my only worries. My Respect to You. May Jah Bless you well
Unfortunately buying a house will not make you a resident and you will have to pay non-resident taxes which are more expensive. I can do a future video about Brexit and how it relates to Spain. ❤️
@@Kaisforeignadventures Hello Kai. I hope your day is going well. Thanks very much. I will appreciate your Brexit video when it’s complete. Thanks again my Friend. Jah Bless
Kai, could you do videos for digital nomads; folks who generate foreign income? Is there a visa for us? Also, any info on retirement visas would be great. Lots of people are moving to other places, so I’m sure things are changing there, as with other countries.
Hello Kai. I hope you are well. I’m wanting to live on the canary island from US. I don’t need a job and I am financially stable. So, since money isn’t a worries would it be hard to live by the Brexit laws? I just want to purchase a home, eat, sleep, enjoy retirement and respecting their laws. Looking forward to hearing from you. I hope you great success in life and your journey ahead. May Jah Bless you well
Hello my friend I'm doing well thanks. Due to Brexit you may be subjected to the same residency laws as a Non-eu citizen. In that case you may want to look into the non-lucrative visa. I did a video on that as well. It's perfect for those that are retired.
Here is the link.

Out of curiosity, as an American, who can speak, write, and read in Spanish and obviously English, is not having a 4 year degree a deal breaker when being looked at for a position to help teach English? I wanted to ask before checking out your employment video. Thank you again for your videos!
Good question and no in Spain it isn't a deal breaker, but it will definitely help you be more competitive. You want to have at least a TEFL certification or something similar. If you don't have at least a teaching certificate it will be very difficult and you want one with at least 120 hours or more.

perfecto, ¡gracias por tomarse el tiempo de responder a mi pregunta!
@@yailineeshelman3218 De nada y buena suerte ☺️
Hello Kai. I hope you are well. How is the Internet connection there. It’s very important to me. I play games and the stock market. Thanks again. May Jah Bless you
The internet connection is actually pretty good except for some remote areas. I work online so Internet is very important for my work. I just don't recommend the company called Avatel. They are horrible. The other companies are good though.
@@Kaisforeignadventures Hello Kai. I hope you are well. Thanks so very much for your quick response. I hope your eyes are well. May Jah Bless you well
Ugh I would love to relocate to an island.
It's easier than you think 😉
Is it three months out of the entire year? Or can I just leave after three months and then come back?
It's 3 months out of the year. They used to be able to just leave and come back, but this has changed unfortunately.
Thanks for all your videos. I applied and was accepted to be an auxiliar this year but I got a decent job in the States that pays more so I decided to stay. With that said, I know myself, and I know I will always want to live in Spain even if things go well with this company. The lack of security and clarity for a path to legally live and work there beyond the aux program is what is really discouraging me. (Can’t do a masters, already have one). Since you’ve been there for some time now, I heard this is when you can transition to cuenta propia/Asenja. I’d really appreciate any thoughts and opinions you have on all this! Thanks again
What was the name of the school where you taught English, and was it in Tenerife? I’m interested in working as an English teacher.
It's called Educat. It's in Fuerteventura. I also taught in a public cool called el Ciervo which is also in Fuerteventura.
@@Kaisforeignadventures I’m tempted to start teaching lessons out of my apartment on a one on one scale. If you don’t mind me asking, what do you feel would be a fair compensation for one on one lessons?
