- I've made a quick visit to the city of Kurgan, one of the poorest cities of Russia. Kurgan rewarded me with excellent drone footage of a commuter train running surrounded by villages, forests and steppes. Also it turned out that my family has a secret ski resort just by the Trans-Siberian railway in the valley where it runs through Ural mountains and this place was absolutely breathtaking!

Your enthousiasm for something what some would consider an everyday banality combines very well with the resignation that shows in your footage. You're doing terrific job of capturing the beauty and poverty of the region.

You have many good drone views. So in Russia you can make drone video everywhere ?
Laws are the same (no flying over linear infrastructure) as everywhere else, but as it is a very sparsely populated land, the chance of anyone seeing you flying an drone in an empty field near Trans-Siberian is zero. Besides, Russians dont’t have that “this is my private property, get out of here” in their character; usually, when they see a drone, they just get curious and ask how high it can fly and how long can the battery last.
